Commander Assassin Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Actually, I disagree with you Natman, of the price for the Tri-Fighter. Unless TLC is real nice to us, judging by the piece count, (268, I think) I think that the price will be $30. Also, to me the speeder in the Imp's BP looks like a repeat of the one in 4483. Quote
Skipper 24 Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the pic links. Freeco Speeder: This looks all right and the Talz is an extra bonus. Tri Fighter: Looks better than the first. The bubble inside looks to be to green semi spheres with some hinged parts wrapped around it. TIE Defender: Looks huge for a TIE. The extra stormie is great. Rebel BP: I think the speeder has some sort of turret on the back which with flick fires. Also the pilot is good variation to the other figs. Imperial BP: We get a great speeder in white and a imperial officer and AT-AT Pilot. Edited September 6, 2009 by Bonapper 24 Quote
The Who Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Wow these sure look awesome. The BP's are all we could hope for. The Freeco bike is awesome and so is the TIE Defender. The Tri-Droid is a little meh!, but the design is ok. Thanks for sharing that link with us Agreed, BoneyT.I can't believe that they are actually putting an AT-AT pilot in the battlepacks, though! I mean it's great, but it's terrible at the same time because I just might have a few old grey ones... Freeco Bike looks huge. What, is that supposed to be one of the Talz people beside it? I was hoping the Tri-Droid would not be that one, but that's just another set I don't have to waste money on. I just can't wait for the Landspeeder pics now. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) I think that it is safe to say that the ARC-170 will be CW since the Tri- FIghter is obviosly CW. Hence the three rocket binocular battle droids. Also, I wonder why we haven't seen the ARC yet... Edited September 6, 2009 by Clone Commander Assassin Quote
ADHO15 Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Also, to me the speeder in the Imp's BP looks like a repeat of the one in 4483. You mean the old AT-AT? It's definitely different. That pic is the clearest one and you can definitely tell it's the one from the new LAAT/i, but in white. Rebel BP: I think the speeder has a closed cockpit which will be nice. Also the pilot is good variation. That definitely looks open to me. Freeco Bike looks huge. What, is that supposed to be one of the Talz people beside it? You can see in the top picture that he's grey like a Talz, has a spear like a Talz, has a white head with four black eyes in the middle like a Talz... I think we're safe to assume it's a Talz. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 You mean the old AT-AT? It's definitely different. That pic is the clearest one and you can definitely tell it's the one from the new LAAT/i, but in white. I know, it's just that it reminded me of that; but yes I do agree that TLG has taken the design of the speeder from the LAAT/i and modified it to fit into the battle of endor and now, the Imperial BP. trooper 278 Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Great work Lego-Freak  !! Well I definitely think with Freeco bike is Anakin just look at trespass!( much likely than obi Wan for my) I think that it is safe to say that the ARC-170 will be CW since the Tri- FIghter is obviosly CW. Hence the Also, I wonder why we haven't seen the ARC yet... So have I Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I have noticed different faces on the Rebels! Thank heavens they aren't just the original smileys! Quote
-JD- Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) Wow! They look amazing! Ha! I told you Oky, we would get an AT-AT pilot! I must have a better look at these! Thanks a lot! EDIT: Freeco Speeder Why another Anakin?! Really should have included a Cold Assault Trooper. But the new Talz make up for it... I suppose. Nice sturdy design. I will certainly get two or more of these. TIE Defender Looks pretty good. Two figures suits me just fine. I may actually get this set. TRI-Fighter Ace! But I wish LEGO would have given us new droids or figures instead of those Rocket BDs. Meh, they'll do. BPs Hmm. What I thought they would be. A nice minifig selection, and from the looks of it some well thought up features too! Now where are those ARC-170 and TT pictures? Edited September 6, 2009 by Jammiedodger714 Quote
Fumoffu Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Thanks for the pics. Fantastic fine. We finally have something more than words to drool over and discuss. The sets all look great to me and will go onto my wanted list with the exception of the Tri-Droid. As others have said before ... there's nothing really new there so if it is good value then I might get it but I suspect I won't. For me its a shame we didn't get any Cold Assault Trooper. Looks like Lego went with a new mould for Talz rather than CAT. I would have preferred a CAT Rex to Anakin or Obi-wan. Anakin/Obi-Wan probably will be almost identical to a Hoth Han. Having said all that I think all the sets looks really good and gets a from me. The TIE Defender is the most have for me out of that lot. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) Thank you very much for the link to these pictures, Lego-Freak! The Tri-Droid looks really bad. But the Freeco Speeder and the TIE Defender look very well done. It's only a shame that TLG releases no regular TIE Fighter - I really do not understand that (even since we got Vader's TIE this year). Since I'm not interested in CW and do not collect PT I will pass these sets. The two Hoth BPs are awesome! The Rebel Trooper BP is great! It includes a decent vehicle and three nice Hoth Rebel Troopers. But the best is that we do not "only" get three Hoth Rebels but even a Rebel Pilot. The Snowtrooper BP is absolutely stunning! It includes a great Speederbike and two Snowtroopers. But the best is that we get some sort of gunner's station, an AT-AT Driver and finally even some sort of Imp. Officer in armor as leader of the Snowtroops I've been waiting for years! Btw: Do you think that the Rebel Pilot fits in the inside of the vehicle to drive it? And do you think that the Rebel Pilot and the Imp. Office in armor will be main characters? - I don't hope so. Klaus-Dieter Edited September 6, 2009 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
ILikePi Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) Finally, some preliminary pictures! The Freeco Bike set looks nice. We're finally going to get a Talz! I really like the look of the Droid Tri-droid Tri-fighter set. It also includes rocket battle droids, which are a plus for me, since I hated the look of the Hyena Droid Bomber! The TIE Defender looks odd, but that's probably just me. The battle packs look amazing! I can't believe that LEGO would decide to put an AT-TE AT-AT pilot, one of my most favorite minifigures, into a $10 $11 USD set! It looks like next year is going to be great! And guys, you should all save the pictures incase they disappear! Edited September 6, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
roxio Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 what do the numbers 442 mean on the BP where the piece count usually is ? Quote
-JD- Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 what do the numbers 442 mean on the BP where the piece count usually is ? It means there was an error, therefore concluding they are prelim. I cannot help but notice the helmet on the pilot in the Defender looks different... Quote
ADHO15 Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I know, it's just that it reminded me of that; but yes I do agree that TLG has taken the design of the speeder from the LAAT/i and modified it to fit into the battle of endor and now, the Imperial BP. I'm not complaining at all! I love the great design of the bike, and this new white one is a must-have for any Hoth-based display. The sets all look great to me and will go onto my wanted list with the exception of the Tri-Droid. The Tri-Droid looks really bad. I really like the look of the Tri-droid Fighter set. Please don't call a droid tri-fighter a tri-droid. These are two very different things and can easily cause confusion in a thread like this where the tri-droid is a wanted set too. This is a tri-droid. btw. An octuparra droid is different to a tri-droid too, so you shouldn't start calling it that either. Btw:Do you think that the Rebel Pilot fits in the inside of the vehicle to drive it? And do you think that the Rebel Pilot and the Imp. Office in armor will be main characters? - I don't hope so. That may have been one reason for including it. I have no doubt that he will be able to drive the vehicle. I doubt they will be. As a rule, battlepacks never include main characters, just generic troops from both sides. The TIE Defender looks odd, but that's probably just me. The battle packs look amazing! I can't believe that LEGO would decide to put an AT-TE pilot, one of my most favorite minifigures, into a $10 $11 USD set! I agree with you there. It looks very accurate to how it's supposed to, though. He's an AT-AT pilot. Quote
trooper 278 Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 It means there was an error, therefore concluding they are prelim. ILikePi Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) Please don't call a droid tri-fighter a tri-droid.Ah, sorry about that!I know that there is a huge difference between a tri-fighter and a tri-droid, but I wasn't really paying attention to what I was actually typing. EDIT: See, I told you that I was too excited to pay attention to what I was typing! No problem. I forgive you. I don't mind too much, but as Star Wars specialist, I thought I'd point it out to prevent other members becoming confused. Any idea where we should find new ARC I am so confuse why it isn´t with prelim picture ( I know maybe ilegal pic) I don't think anybody knows at the moment. That and Luke's landspeeder are also supposed to be January sets, so I expect they'll turn up soon. Quote
The Rancor Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) Ah! Lego Freak is our saviour as far as pointing out 2010 pics is concerned. I agree with the general opinions aroused by these sets: Battlepacks: Perfect with just the right minifigs Freeco: Almost perfect with excellent design and Tal (if that is the singular of Talz), but no cold assault troopers. Tri-Fighter: Boring, didn't buy the first one, and I won't buy this one either unless it is cheaper than we all think. TIE Defender: I wonder how it stands up on its own Edited September 6, 2009 by The Rancor Quote
ADHO15 Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 Freeco: Almost perfect with excellent design and Tal (if that is the singular of Talz), but no cold assault troopers. To quote myself: It's always Talz, plural or singular. Like sheep or deer. Quote
SWMAN Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 This years sets look pretty decent this year. The Freeco Speeder looks like your run-of-the-mill Star Wars set, but the rest look unique. The Tri-Droid Fighter is really nice looking. The Tie-Defender is simply amazing. A ton of detail and a big set. Without being to see the BP's very well, I am not going to judge them yet. I just can't wait until Endor BP's. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 To quote myself: I like your new title! Quote
ADHO15 Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I like your new title! I liked my old one. I've only quoted myself twice in the time I've been here. I only did it so I didn't have to type it again. I'm sorry if it's annoying. It won't happen again. Quote
Tyleraf Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 These sets are nice! I can't wait to get my hands on these. Quote
