Slave I looks super! The cockpit is clear for once too! Is that a sticker on the cockpit?

However, I think there is too much reddish brown.

I agree it seems to be too much reddish brown, however if i dont like it can exchange with my old slave one parts. Still this set i feel is going to be one of the best SW sets this year.

Thank goodness people are starting to see the slave 1 in my eyes, this set is defiantly one to keep your eye out for, If there are things you don't like, just swap out pieces from the old one and make it the best of both worlds, the only thing that irks me is the minifig to price ratio, but if it has cool functions then I think I'll be okay, and besides the minifigs you get are INCREDIBLE new Boba and Han as well as brand new bossk, this is a must have.

Hate to repeat myself, but the cockpit hasn't changed - we've just got clearer pics (thanks KimT).

On the left is the original pic, blown up, on the right is the latest pic. If you look closely, you can see the original cockpit has 'shape' too.

I really like the new Slave I. While the base is a pretty bright red, the ship looks really detailed and I think the figures will be really nice.

The cockpit piece is exactly the same (green). The built model is just lacking the opening mechanism that you can just make out in the box pictures (yellow).

You just drew 5 green lines on a 3 sided shape, if you just pointed out the previous picture has 3 sides, and now you are drawing it with five sides and saying the images are the same, you are contradicting yourself. The box picture clearly has 3 sides, while the model has 5 and opens differently.

You cannot possibly say the box image has a five sided cockpit, and if the second box picture had 5 sides, then you just proved yourself wrong. But the box pictures are exactly the same and the models are different. Just look at your own picture, 1,2,3, on the left side.

Err... no, my original post drew attention to the original pic (left) being exactly the same, just a lower quality pic. As to the box picture 'clearly' having 3 sides, believe what you want; I really don't think TLC would go to all the trouble of making a whole new mould just because a few EB members didn't like the first one.

I suggest we agree to differ and kill this discussion before a Sith Lord does it for us.

Okay, but I'm just going to say, the right side, high-quality pic still has three sides. It's almost like saying Lego changed the Wampa because I didn't like it. Lego always changed prototype molds, and if you go through history cockpits are often changed.

The cockpit definitely has three sides in that picture. But we agree to disagree, yes?

EDIT: I see the lines you pointed out, they are very faint, but I still think the cockpit is lower and has a different lifting mechanism. That's really hard to see though.

Did anyone see the new slave 1 in that blog, that was jaw-dropping. It's so detailed and Boba is just well lovely, and the new carbonite made me jump out of my seat, Holy crap my wallet just hit the floor.

Yea they are definitely different cockpits. I like the new design but I just hope the new piece lays flush with the top like the prelim because it looks a lot cleaner that way.

I think you are looking at the cockpit open

it is a bad canopy in my opinion

I really think we did not need this set

they should have made a better set like grievous lair

with kit fisto in the set instead of the arc 170 set

This discussion is so cluttered with protests against that new cockpit, that I think it needs its own topic. Does anyone have anything to say besides something about the cockpit? Like the colours of Grevious' lightsabers, or how awesome the slave 1 is (they got rid of the brownish red) or something about the CTT.

We usually don't get much info or pictures on exclusive sets. Example would be the swamp speeder that just poped up 3 weeks before its actual release. I actually like it better that way. It gives us a nice suprise like the dropship w/at-ot and the swamp speeder

right well from the video you can see that the slave one stabilizers rotate on their own to the correct position for flying or landing, and gg cockpit has either a sticker on it or it is printed.
