Sajer Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 (edited) No picture eh? Glad you could confirm it, curse you TLG! Thanks! There is a picture of the midi scale star destroyer in the dealer catalog, but it has the "confidential" watermark. Besides, hasn't it already surfaced online? If not, I doubt my local dealer would allow me to take a picture, but I'll see how it goes. Exact price listed in the catalog is 85.90 Sing dollars, with release set for August. Not sure how much that would translate to in the states but I'm guessing slightly earlier for you guys since Lego Singapore tends to release stuff for us much later. Btw, nice shirts there, I love the first shirt especially! Edited February 20, 2010 by Sajer Quote
Derek Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 I would totally buy that Andy Warhol styled Stormtrooper one if it was in Men's sizes... It appears to be in Women's Quote
The Legonater Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Two new keychains have been found: Leia and Wicket I won't even bother asking why they're with the Army men... Good find! Quote
yoda601 Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Is the toy fair over? Indeed it is. I think the next tiem we'll see new stuff is (perhaps) at Celebration V. Quote

JCC1004 Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 I won't even bother asking why they're with the Army men... Good find! It was a person's buys at a Lego Store. I believe it was over at Brickhorizon. Also Brickhorizon has news of two more new magnet sets that include: Han Solo (unknown stlye), Leia (Tantive IV), and Admiral Ackbar C3PO, Wicket, and Scout Trooper Quote

Darth Legolas Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Only on S@H and Lego Brand Stores. Sweet, Admiral Ackbar magnet set! Now I have no reason at all to buy Grievous's fighter, and this will definitely be cheap! Quote
pugsx3 Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 (edited) Ooh!!! Too bad magnet sets aren't available in stores... I believe the set is Han in endor from 8038 along with paploo and a biker scout the other sets are palpatine // onaconda farr and nute gunray set#3 is leia from tantive set (possible smooth hair ) admiral ackbar and C3-PO NOT BAD but I would you really like to see a REX //Cody// arc pilot set Edited February 20, 2010 by pugsx3 Quote

Thanks for the info, I will get ALL magnetsets to get those great figures in a cheap way! Is it known already when they will be released, or just some rumors? Soon or in the summer? ~ General Magma Edited February 20, 2010 by General Magma Quote
AoNZ Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 All these magnet sets are really making the figs have less value. I mean the Venator is completely useless for figs now with Chancellor Palpatine in magnet form and the Senate Commando available in a cheaper set coming. I do really like the new figs however I'm hesitant whether to get the sets for figs now as they may appear cheaper in magnet form. Quote

But to be honest 3PO with Leia and Ackbar would make more sense but thats not what I read. I read what I typed. I really hope the Leia doesn't have smooth hair because mine will be worth less. Also Ackbar prices will go down and I will be able to build an army of them! Jar Jar Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Aw man. I was hoping they would be regular minifigs. The magnet sets sound great but any possible news on keychains? I would love to get the Leia! Quote

Nine-eleven confirmed they're cheaper quality figures. the han magnet set has paploo in it not wickett wickett will be the keychain I also agree that lego will reduce the demand for the venator ship the senate gaurd will be in with the bane speeder just look at what they did with the windu yoda and dooku magnet sets all three were a a 40-60 dollar sets and that in my opinion was the only reason I would ever had bought the solar sailor I know that the retail catolog states that the republic gunship and the at-te are spring only sets we need more rex and cody figs or the last chance is the spring Quote
JCC1004 Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 the han magnet set has paploo in it not wickett wickett will be the keychain Than my source must be incorrect. So apparently we'll be getting a : C-3PO/Leia(Tantive IV)/Admiral Ackbar Han Solo (Vest)/Paploo/Scout Trooper Quote
RileyC Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 They are cool magnet set figs but the magnets dont really do it for me. I like to get minifigs in proper sets and not the cheap way Quote
Rinconstar Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 But were is the rest of the magnet minfig pack thing lego must come out with more they would not just make two. They always have three magnet minfig pack things released at the same time. See I told you guys there would be a third magnet pack. Quote

Um correct me if I'm wrong (never bought magnet sets before), but don't magnet sets have an unsightly Lego Logo on the back of their torsos? I think keychain figs would be preferable, but even they have a big hole in their heads if you remove the metal piece. Quote

You can also completely disassemble the magnet set minifigs, where as the hips and headpiece of keychains are glued. The bad thing about both magnet sets and keychains are that they are made of Chinese plastic and have lower quality printing. The Admiral Ackbar magnet set sounds good! Seems to be a cheap(er) way of getting Mon Calamari heads. Edited February 21, 2010 by ILikePi Quote
Rayman Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 The bad thing about both magnet sets and keychains are that they are made of Chinese plastic and have lower quality printing. This is an objective judgement but I personally believe that the Magnets are better printed than the original Denmark figures. Quote

Seems to be a cheap(er) way of getting Mon Calamari heads. older magnet sets were not really good the magnets were glued in the torsos and legs the only parts salvagable was the head and capes -weapons the newer magnet set are all mini figs just as the ones in the sets (no magnets) the only problem to date with the starwars magnets are the red emporers gaurd a little different red I have looked at the pictures of the palpatine and he has the correct red so it is basically the same figure Quote
Darth Legolas Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Um correct me if I'm wrong (never bought magnet sets before), but don't magnet sets have an unsightly Lego Logo on the back of their torsos? I think keychain figs would be preferable, but even they have a big hole in their heads if you remove the metal piece. Magnet sets have plain, regular minifigs, 100% resembling the real things, able to take apart and such, just lower quality plastic, and slightly altered printing. I really don't mind those slight changes though, they're only noticeable if you really, really care. The main problem was, as said, the Royal Guard, with almost translucent red for a torso and legs. This is an objective judgement but I personally believe that the Magnets are better printed than the original Denmark figures. Well, the printing is different, you can say that. Sometimes the printing gets smudgy, but if you like the magnet variation, there's no argument against it. The only beef I've had with the printing is when I unknowingly picked up a Mace WIndu magnet with red eyes! older magnet sets were not really goodthe magnets were glued in the torsos and legs the only parts salvagable was the head and capes -weapons the newer magnet set are all mini figs just as the ones in the sets (no magnets) the only problem to date with the starwars magnets are the red emporers gaurd a little different red I have looked at the pictures of the palpatine and he has the correct red so it is basically the same figure Luckily, when I got my Royal Guard, I inexplicably had a spare Royal Guard torso and legs, the correct red. I just plucked off the high-quality head, and stuck it, along with the cape, on to the good torso. Quote

But a magnetset with Admiral Ackbar and Leia? This would be awesome! So I don't have to buy the horrible and overpriced Mon Calamari-Set to get this fig. Thanks for this information! Quote
