AoNZ Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Is there meant to be a Tactical Droid in the Clone Turbo Tank? Sorry if this has been asked, there's a lot of pages of reading now so easy to miss. Quote
RileyC Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 The clear pics look great! The shuttle looks better and the variation in colour looks better in the clear pic now. The slave 1 is a must get for me. The different colours looks fabulous and the two different greens looks amazing like that. The CTT doesnt look like it is coming with any droids or a tactical droid but that wont stop me from buying the set. Plo Koon's stafighter looks great, seems to have a lot of pieces for that size. His droid looks awesome and Im glad lego have started to give use other droids rather than R2 over and over. Grievous doesnt look so bad in this picture imo. 8097 Slave I looks even better now! I never noticed the small amounts of sand green before, and this picture makes the set look very sleek. Also, that gigantic printed windshield is awesome! Im guessing that going to be a sticker Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Too bad there are still no exclusive pics. If they aren't here by April, something's gone horribly wrong in the Lego factory. Or maybe LEGO is just holding the surprise for a later date? Quote
CommanderFox Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Thanks for the pics Tyleraf! Plo's fighter is looking very tempting now.. I think your right stash they most likely are keeping the pics for a later date. Can't wait for it! CommanderFox Quote
RileyC Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I have just noticed that underneath the CTT picture it says, 8098 Clone Turbo Tank: Includes Anakin Skywalker, Clone Trooper, Clone Commander, Tactical Droid, Cad Bane, Ahsoka Tano, and Aayla Secura minifigures So maybe there is supposed to be a tactical droid in the set and the design hasnt been finalized? Quote
Oky Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) Yes, that is rather confusing, considering the pic looks so final. Maybe they are just using the prelim box from Toy Fair as reference for the minifig list? I hope you are right though. A tactical droid would make the set even sweeter! Jar Jar Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I was thinking LEGO might have him 'in the CTT'. Quote
Oky Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Why would they hide away a brand new figure in a vehicle that it doesn't even belong into while all the other figs are standing parade outside? Quote
Bobskink Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Or maybe LEGO is just holding the surprise for a later date? It would be cool if Lego could finaly keep a set secret for a whille and surprise us all. Question, the rebel pilot from the Wampa set, is it the same of the battle pack? Quote
DutchRebel Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Thanx for the pics Tyleraf. Absolutely love the Slave I ! and Grievous' fighter. Not 100% sure about the Hoth Cave, but I'll probably end up buying it ;-). Think I'll get the droid from Palpatines shuttle and Aayla from Bricklink. One critical note: IMHO they could 've done a better job on General Grievous himself... Looking forward to their release. Quote

Yes, that would be a break through for TLC! So far we have always found out about any new sets before they are released, so this will probably be a first. Im pretty sure its the same pilot, just "under a different name". CommanderFox Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Pol's starfighter is the best of all the starfighters so far - awesome blue and white colours ! And did I read correct - Tactical Droid in the CTT - cool if it's true ! The rest we all seen more of before, but hey the more we get pictures - the more details we get. I'm a conformist! everyone ! AoNZ Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I love how they rounded the parts near the wings of the Slave I. I have both the old GG Starfighter and Slave I so will be interesting to put them side by side and compare. Yeah Grevious is a little strange and it's questionable how posable he is. I was hoping for a GG like the one in the Quest for R2D2 clip. Well at least he fits in with his Megabloxy Guards Quote
RileyC Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Im pretty sure its the same pilot, just "under a different name".CommanderFox Its going to be the exact same pilot. I dont think his name will change because then it would be confusing for children and they may get parents thinking they got the wrong helmet. Quote
Future74 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) Thanks Tyleraf for those high resolution pictures Deeplinked I'm afraid that the tactical droid in the CTT has been removed from the final version. These pictures look finished and official. There was some discussion on the pilot in the Hoth Wampa Cave set before and in my opinion they used the same pilot (Sev Senesca) in the battlepack. This is based on the printing of the helmet. I agree with Roncanator, the shuttle looks better in this picture. Even with the strange colour scheme. The clone pilot looks strange with the open helmet and white, printed head. @ DutchRebel: No opinion on Plo Koon's Starfighter? The guns are different on this version compared to Anakins and Ahsoka's fighters. Wonder what other changes they made underneath the fighter, maybe more stable landing gear? I'm loving the Slave I more and more. Besides the minifigures the design grows on me. Cant wait to compare to previous version and Jango's. The most spectacular discovery I made for myself is the side missile bay with flick fires on General Grievous Starfighter. Edited February 25, 2010 by Future74 Quote
Big Cam Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 OMG, The fig's look soo good, and I personally think the slave 1 is a big improvement over the last version. Although the turbo tank isn't big on my list, it has 3 great fig's that I don't have. Quote
DarthSion Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I like all those photo's, I like the new Grievous, looks a bit odd, but better than the old one, its a pity his fixer droid has sticker eyes. Quote

DutchRebel Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 @ DutchRebel: No opinion on Plo Koon's Starfighter? haha Future 74, you made me smile! I'm just not a big fan of Lego's version of the starfighters, but for a regular starfighter (like Anakin's or Ahsoka's) it's OK. They should 've made it dark blue in my opinion though and I would prefer the dark blue droid Plo has in EPIII instead of this one. The Lego version is just not really slick like the fighters from the movies, but I understand that it must fit with the older Lego starfighters, so that's why I didn't comment. Keeping this in regard, they did an OK job. Hope you are satisfied with this comment thanx and C U Dutch Rebel Quote
def Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 The new Slave I looks a heck of a lot like the last one. The colors are sharper, but it's a hard sell for me. But Bossk... I like these ships, but I'd be happy with just the minfigs. Maybe I'll just buy them and sell the sets, and keep the figs. I'm torn. But I have a few months to think about it. Great new pics there. MrCustomizer Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I love the new pictures! I hope/wonder if General Grievous has joints in his legs? I want them to make a magnet set with Grievous, Aayla, and Cad Bane. If not I'll have to buy em' off of ebay because I've gotta buy the Harry Potter sets. :D ~MC Quote

TheBrickHitHouse Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 All the new sets look good, Grevious's fighter is such an improvement on the last version Quote
Oky Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) Wonder what other changes they made underneath the fighter, maybe more stable landing gear? You mean something like this? No, I prefer the current style of landing gear. Do you think it will have a "droid popping" feature like in Anakin's JSF? The most spectacular discovery I made for myself is the side missile bay with flick fires on General Grievous Starfighter. What's spectacular about that? The only good thing about that is that you can hide them away IMO. I'm just not a big fan of Lego's version of the starfighters, but for a regular starfighter (like Anakin's or Ahsoka's) it's OK. They should 've made it dark blue in my opinion though and I would prefer the dark blue droid Plo has in EPIII instead of this one. I agree 100%. Oh well, as you said, it's still a good set. I hope/wonder if General Grievous has joints in his legs? Yes, they have. @ grogall: Thanks for those official pics of the magnet sets. I don't think those have been posted yet. yellost Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 After seeing those pics, I'm starting to get sold by Grievous Starfighter. It's definitely growing on me... I kinda like those hidden missiles. And the back fin seems to move the right way On the other hand, I really hope the canopy will be printed, because if it's a sticker, I predict one hell of time to apply it... Damn, I thought I was gonna save some money, this year... Quote
