lightningtiger Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 A Jedi shuttle eh ? It's either going to be a surprise at Comic-Con or it's a load of Nerf droppings ! If it's true - I won't mind - I collect CW ! But I doubt it - we have seen all what's comming up this year in way minus some pictures, etc,. I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
ILikePi Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 (edited) I don't think that we're going to get a Jedi shuttle; set number 8134 is a Tiny Turbo made in 2007 - TLG would never reuse a set number in just a 3 year period! Have a great Pi Day everyone! Edited March 15, 2010 by ILikePi Quote

I dont think its going to be a comic con exclusive since every year lately the exclusive has been a brickmaster set. Last year it was a mini at-te and a mini republic gunship brickmaster. The only way to obtain one at the Lego booth at comic con was to first win a ticket rafffle and then if you won they wanted 50 Dollars for it. Brickepedia is just like wikipedia with false rumors all the time. (If anyone else has comic con questions pm me.) Edited March 15, 2010 by LegoGalactus Quote

I don't think lightningtiger actually suggested it would be a Comic-Con exclusive, but rather that the (theoretical) set would get a Comic-Con unveiling, and become generally available some time after. Zzz Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 My ideas about the CTT so far: The model lacks a lot of things, like a good chassis or a nice interior. I think the steering mechanism (which seems to be a nice idea, like back in the days of Space Police 1) that is included forces the model to have such a "light" undercarriage, but imho it makes the model look a bit goofy, while it should look heavy, huge, dominant. The interior.. sigh.. I guess the number of SW models that don't have weird colours in the middle is something below 5. Also a detail issue. And once again too open. 10 pieces more in the cockpit could have helped already. Of course I could solve all these things on my own, but in the moment it keeps me from wanting this set. The only reason right now would be the girls (lovely) and the scout walker, and I stopped buying sets just for some MFs. In the end it is not satisfying to me. Quote
The Legonater Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 The toystore in my city has a few still to sell and they are reluctant to discount it from what the RRP is. RRP... I should know what that is... a little help please? Quote
Rufus Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 RRP... I should know what that is... a little help please? Recommended Retail Price. Quote
sok117 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Just realized something If you look at This Picture You can see some technic bits inside grevious's cockpit, I think this is connected to the landing fin at the back (also utilizing technic bits), and It goes down when the cockpit opens, Just a theory, Quote

Cause here cockpit is closed and fin has the same position. I am afraid you have to switch the fin with that trans blue piece there. Quote
-JD- Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I saw this while watching a new CW episode! Phase II trooper! Battle packs now please! Quote
Ratshot Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I saw this while watching a new CW episode!Phase II trooper! Battle packs now please! I doubt that they'll release a Phase II Clone Trooper Battle Pack, even if it was cartoonie styled Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I doubt that they'll release a Phase II Clone Trooper Battle Pack, even if it was cartoonie styled Why not ? I'll give you two reasons why they could or should ! 1. This year we got Rebel and Imp. packs, so next year it should be back to CW. 2. It would sell and make the 2 'L's lots of money (the 2 'L's - easy Lego and Lucas) ! Agree with me or not, that's the way I think it will play. This theme will continue past 2011 I feel, as Lego learnt the hard way with Batman remember ? I'm a conformist! everyone ! Quote
Palms Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I agree with Lightningtiger if phase II troopers take over in clone wars as the republic's primary soldier than I to suspect another clone battlepack coming in the future . Quote
Ras 74 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Sure it has to at some point! In Ep. III the Phase II Troopers just don´t appear. There must have been a transform of some kind. So to me it just makes sense. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 (edited) You finally got your wish, Jammie! 2009 would be a bit hasty, but maybe all of those random speculations add up. Phase II Clones VS. Mando's anyone? By the way, don't say I'm contradicting myself. I never said it was impossible, just that it was speculation. Edited March 16, 2010 by Darth Legolas Quote
mutley777 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I've said it before and i will say it again. This years ARC 170 and the Swamp Speeder are Clone Wars sets not EP3. I expect most of 2011 clone wars sets to be all phase II clones. Quote

I expect most of 2011 clone wars sets to be all phase II clones. NOT AGAIN! Please, it doesn't matter whether they're EP3 or CW! All this will gain is getting KimT mad at us, and you don't want that again do you? Both the ARC and Swamp Speeder- although expensive and remakes- are great sets! And here you are, arguing about what it's off of? Ridiculas! It's like not getting a set because it has stickers in it! So please, stop this before we get told to 'Stay on Target.' Quote
Destroydacre Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I've said it before and i will say it again. This years ARC 170 and the Swamp Speeder are Clone Wars sets not EP3. In your opinion... I don't follow the cartoon, but I think it was pretty apparent that there had to be the switch at some point. Like was mentioned earlier in the thread, the clones didn't just wake up the at the start of Episode III with new armor. If they really wanted to, they could possibly have hybrid of Phase I and Phase II clones in the cartoon. I don't think that's out of the realm of possibility. All speculation at this point though. But you'd better believe that Lego will make a figure of it at some point. Most likely a battle pack as well, although a CW battle pack doesn't necessarily have to be released next year. There's nothing set in stone about having battle packs alternate between CW and PT/OT and really, there's nothing that says Lego can't release more than 2 in a given year either. Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 What does it really matter if the sets are listed as Clone Wars or Episode 3 guys? Are the googley cartoonish eyes that big of a deal? LEGO is going to classify them however they want, and there isn't too much any of us can do about it. Rerouting this topic... I am eagerly awaiting the "new" AT-AT Walker and the exquisite 10212 item. I'm curious though if the Weequay included Cad Bane's Speeder will have a new head or be a reprint of the one in the Pirate Tank. Quote
gunm Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I hope the new AT-AT has a sturdier walking functionality. The current one is good, but still a bit too wobbly, IMO. Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Last time I checked, the new walker was not a motorized walker. Unless you know something I don't? Quote
gunm Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I dunno why I thought it was motorized. Ah well, apolgies, I stand corrected. Quote
Palms Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I dunno why I thought it was motorized. Ah well, apolgies, I stand corrected. Well, there has been some talk lately that the new AT-AT will just be a complete copy of the walking AT-AT just different figs and a new number. Quote
famman47 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Well, there has been some talk lately that the new AT-AT will just be a complete copy of the walking AT-AT just different figs and a new number. Page 1 of this thread now states that the new AT-AT with be 815 pieces and priced at $109.99. Are these figures for sure? If so, it seems likely that it is considerably redesigned, if not a completely new design. I know that 4483 had a lot of elements in each of the legs, so that might be where some of of the "element savings" comes from. Set 10178 has 1137 elements. Could a walking, mini-fig scale model be built with 300 fewer elements? It seems more likely that a decent non-walking representation could be accomplished at that number of pieces, considering that 4483 had 1064 pieces. I just hope that it is a thoughtful design and doesn't turn out to be lacking in realism compared to 4483. On the other hand, I really enjoy the variation and diversity present in the Lego Star Wars series as a result of their being several different renditions of a number of the vehicles. Quote

True, but it also states that Bane's speeder has 318 pieces with a retail price of $550, so those numbers for the AT-AT may or may not be accurate! Quote
