fff Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 new AT-AT with be 815 pieces and priced at $109.99... Mmm does not have much sense to make one 'worse' than the one is just to disappear... i would recommend getting the old while you can... i thought initially this could be an UCS... Quote
KimT Posted March 17, 2010 Author Posted March 17, 2010 Please stay off price discussion in this topic. (Yes I am not all gone) The 550 is clearly a typo and it has now been fixed. Quote
Ras 74 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I thought initially this could be an UCS... I bet there was many that hoped for it to be something in between at least. I did anyway. I was hoping for a 1500 - 2000 pieces AT-AT when we started to hear the rumors. The old AT-AT 4483 with 1064 pieces can be reduced and still have a good design I think. Question is if it can be reduced with 300 something pieces and still maintain a good design. Guess we will find out pretty sure. Quote
Zzz Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Almost 40 pieces are already spend on the AT-AT's minifigs and their weapons. With less than 780 pieces on the actual model, that AT-AT is going to be really small!! Where do those piece count numbers come from? Quote
Ras 74 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Where do those piece count numbers come from?To what set Mr?Otherwise BL is a good source to check if you mean the older sets. Just realised that 4483 says 1052 on BL. Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 That AT AT is sounding awful less bricks? Let's face it - both existing models needed more I was really looking forward to this set... Quote

Future74 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 (edited) Since the piececount of the new AT-AT is not definite maybe the rumours about this are wrong. I hope. If you lose the speederbike from the 4483 AT-AT it saves a few pieces without loss of design. edit: I wish it would look like Cavegod's version Edited March 17, 2010 by Future74 Quote
BountyHunter501 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 ok, this is my first time on here. the reason y i am is bcause u guys keep running around i circles! what doesn't make since 2 me is that how very few pieces r in the new AT-AT, especially bcause there is that rumor about the set (the one about it may contain the hoth generator and or the hoth snow speeder like the one in "hoth wampa cave" set) that would mean the AT-AT woul be even smaller! i say we, like a jedi, wait and be patient u never know what will or will not change.....i think we learned about that in the new wave coming out in july/august. Apart from that the one or other mistake is of course ok - but it is straining to read someone's post when he/she does write constantly incorrect. But you're new and now you know. Nevertheless welcome to EB, BountyHunter501! About the AT-AT: I think (and hope) that the rumours on the price and piece count are wrong. Of course it could use less bricks - but not immensly less bricks. Plus do think about TLG's development of how to build vehicles in the last years - vehicles are getting bigger and more detailed than before - so designing it smaller sounds to me unbelievable. And since it includes seven minifigs a price of 110 Euros sound to me absolutely unrealistic anyway. Last but not least think even about that it has to include something new - the minifig constellation lets imo conclude that there has to be included a small base/room and a big gun. Klaus-Dieter i hope you're right about it containing some sort of a base (i'm hopping the rummer about the shield generator is true ) thats about the only thing LEGO is missing from hoth lol oh and thanks for the intro, I'll try harder Quote
FilmGirl27 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I'm not much of a MOCer, so I don't really care if the AT-AT is made up of fewer pieces, as long as the model looks good it works for me. Quote

Klaus-Dieter Does anyone think it's at all possible for the AT-AT to be like Home One last year where you don't actually get the vehicle, but you get scenes from inside it? The AT-AT could come with a shield generator, some more of Echo Base and the control station for the AT-AT. I realize this is extremely unlikely though, just throwing it out there. Quote

BountyHunter501 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I was out of line I apologize and I will work on my jedi texting skills no worries I'm a good guy I know how to act on here now, and I'll try not to be as confusing also, has anyone heard about whats going on with the tactical droid? I am very confused on that... Quote
RileyC Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 also, has anyone heard about whats going on with the tactical droid? I am very confused on that... I think it was originally meant to be in the set but they changed there mind and just left a placeholder on the box but Starwars.com thought they had just left the tactical droid out of the toy fair. I am very confused on that... Now also try to use capital letters in the beginning of the sentences and punctuation and you will be all super good Welcome to Eurobricks by the way BountyHunter501!! Enjoy your stay. That goes for pugsx3 as well I hope the AT-AT´s rumored piece count is all wrong. I have heared a whispering voice that it looks good though, reminds of the old one 4483. Quote
Knightsword Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 The piece count could and hopefully reflect a more efficient building method that doesn't pad the numbers like Lego tends to do, such as have 2 2x3 plates next to each when 1 2x6 would work, or maybe less reliance Technic parts. (Which would cut down any piece count of any set by a lot.) Quote

BountyHunter501 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 You know, I was just thinking, if LEGO ever decides to just have a battle droid instead of a tactical droid (I'm praying for the tactical droid, lol ) then they could just release the sets anytime now, right? I mean, isn't the whole battle or tactical droid the holdup? LEGO has every thing else, don't they? Quote
Rinconstar Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 I compared the AT-AT in "the quest for r2-d2" from lego website to the 10178 Motorized Walking AT-AT thinking that could be the new one but it was not, there the same. Quote

I mean, isn't the whole battle or tactical droid the holdup? LEGO has every thing else, don't they? Hum... yes... excepted that we are talking of the production of millions of parts, for thousands of sets, which then need to be sent worldwide... So I don't think Lego will release your wish of an earlier release, but who knows... Quote
