ADHO15 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 He's in the background, just like in the movies. :) (At least I hope so...) I understand your hopes, but he wasn't in the rumours before we saw the pics, and if he was in it, he'd be an outstanding LEGO character on the box, not something you have to comb the background for to get a glimpse of. Darth Legolas Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 (edited) Back face design for Antilles:Link I was so right! What about this one?The last one was pretty good, so they'll have a hard time improving it on a large scale. Beat me to it... I understand your hopes, but he wasn't in the rumours before we saw the pics, and if he was in it, he'd be an outstanding LEGO character on the box, not something you have to comb the background for to get a glimpse of. All I see is a Jedi Trainer droid directly to the right of the Sand Stormie. There is now guy with a gray face... but who is he anyway? I'm not sure what you're talking about. Darth Legolas Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Keep posting comments like this, and I can see a title change for you coming up... I'm sure you aren't. Sure, that's the word I was looking for. I'm not SURE what you're talking about. I think my biggest feat was with the Laser Ice Cutter! I was totally right! Anyway, to go back on topic, It's good that we're getting another set with Plo and another with Fisto. I can tell you off the bat that I highly doubt Fisto's mold will be new. He looks just like a CW alien! The new Pilots may have the Hoth Rebel Goggles, but it doesn't look too much like it. Maybe they'll just have printed visors across they're face. I don't see why so many people hate the Landspeeder. Tuskens are clearly not that hard to g et, just look at Natman8000! What was it, 75 or something? I think with my collection, it's a pretty good thing. Other people don't need this. The only people who have a right to complain are those who have the two other landspeeders. And they shouldn't want to buy that set anyway? Quote
The Who Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 And they shouldn't want to buy that set anyway? Why not?I don't really see your reasoning behind that comment. Not that I would complain as I love it, but I have the sand red one and will be soon trading for my friends old tan one. And by the way, Oky is right, you need to stop posting that you are right. Yes, we can see that you might be right, but you don't have to say that in every post. Quote

Yes, we can see that you might be right, but you don't have to say that in every post. I'll stop now. My comments are pretty useless. But, one last thing, I didn't mean people shouldn't be buying the new one if they have the two old one's, I'm saying if they complained about the first too and that's why they want too, then they shouldn't complain about the third. They should just make their own. There's no point in complaining about a set that you weren't planning on getting anyway. If it doesn't interest you, then why should you say why it doesn't interest you? All I mean is, this topic is about proving rumors and adding rumors. Quote

nintha Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 There is now guy with a gray face... but who is he anyway? The guy with the gray face is Garindan and to keep this on topic I can't wait for the tie defender, when I heard it was going to be a set I got excited and couldn't wait for the pics, when I saw it I was amazed at how it looked like one. I can't wait to buy it. Good job TLG. I also can't wait for the land speeder either It looks great and the minifigure assortment looks great too. Oh and thanks for all the links to the pictures. Quote
JimBee Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Thanks for the picture finds. Thoughts: The Freeco Speeder looks pretty neat, and, for the most part, accurate. I'll have to watch that episode of the CW again, but I think the nose needs to be a little longer. The picture is too blurry for me to make a judgment on the figures just yet. The Tri-Fighter, to me, is amazing. I love how detailed it is, and I'll gladly take the rocket droids that I didn't get when I didn't get the Hyena. The TIE Defender is pretty neat as well: accurate, to scale, and with the new color scheme. Battle packs are just what I expected. I'm still unsure about the minifigures, though. There's something different about the ones in the Rebel BP. Landspeeder is alright. Nothing too different from previous versions, but I'm really excited about getting Ben in a cheaper set. I'm not too excited about the ARC, either. Besides the engines, there's not much of a difference between this and the one from 2005. One can only hope it's sturdier. I still can't get over the fact that TLG decided to remake a newer set when there are so many new set possibilities to be made before the license ends. Quote
ILikePi Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Back face design for Antilles:Link Great find JD!It's great to know that LEGO would make a back head print just to please their fans. It looks amazing, too! Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Maybe they'll just have printed visors across they're face. I hope not! I have been waiting ever since RotS to get a Phase II pilot with the trans-neon orange visor! If they make it printed, the chances are even lower that TLC will ever make one, as they would use the printed one over and over! Quote
HumanPackMule Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 The Freeco Bike and the TIE defender look awesome. Quote
Commander Assassin Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 How can you think about TIEs and Freecos, when we may have a crisis upon us! Why just the thought of having printed visors on the Phase II pilots! Although I do agree. They are awesome. Although, I will have to wait and see if the price tag for the Defender is under $50 USD before I would think about buying it. Quote

Commander Assassin Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 For the ARC, or of an up close phase II pilot? There is no up close pic (yet), but there has been some speculation on the visors because we could not see any trans-neon orange in the prelim picture. Quote
Oswald the Rabbit Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 (edited) Landspeeder:I've just noticed, that the set will have 6(!) figs! Just look at it! There will be, C3PO, R2-D2, Obi, Luke, Sandtrooper, and the spy creature, who showed Han's shipyard to the stormies. Just look closely on the upper left of the pic. There is a black fig, with gray face. ;) I hope it will look like in the PC game. So it will be a really good set. Either my eyes are deceiving me or I can make him out Garindan behind the Sandtrooper. He is dressed in black I believe so he is hard to make out but I can sort of visualize the face. If he does come with the set that is a total must buy. Edited September 9, 2009 by Oswald the Rabbit Quote

But I wonder, now that we know whoe's with Kit in that set, Maybe there will be a great mini-fig selection in Plo Koon's Starfighter. PLo Koon is enough to make my buy it. Quote
RileyC Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 wow the new pics of the arc 170 and land speeder. I really like how C3PO is finally returning in a cheap set instead of appearing in only the most expensive star wars sets. The arc 170 looks a lot better than the first one and the minifigs should be great. I cant wait to get my hands on it for kit fisto and the redesigned pilots. Its really cool that we get a red droid in the new style Quote
Oky Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I'm pretty sure that the helmets will be new, but the visors will still be printed on the pilots' heads. And to be honest, it doesn't bother me too much. The question is if the faces will be CW or normal style. At the moment, I'm expecting normal style since the set seems ROTS based rather than CW, considering the CW is still Phase 1 this season. And I think the TIE Defender should be 40-45 since it doesn't seem to have a lot more pieces than Vader's TIE. In fact, the piece count on the prelim pic states that it has less pieces, but that can't be of course (Can it?). Quote
Ras 74 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Just my thoughts of this: The landspeeder is again a mega-sized one. The first one (7110) was really good size wise. I thought if they where to release a new one it would have been much more in a better scale, and with some new parts for the front to make it more accurate. I´d rather had a smaller one, with less parts, and something else around it. More figs or whatever. It is after all something classy from the first movie ever made in SW. Tie Defender? Tie Defender?? Nice it is not in blue anymore. But isn´t this a EU set? Or could we expect this junk in CW? Since we got the great 10131, and 7664 I really dislike all TIE-versions exept the once actually seen in the movies. Worst part... got to buy one :D I´d much rather had a new Bomber. The Droid Tri-Fighter I must see better pics of. The first one was ok, this might be improved some. Could be it is slightly to big though. Rest of the sets I really looking forward to see with better pics. That goes for all sets by the way. Quote

If TLG included that an exclusive minifig in this set then they surely would have made in clearer visible in the picture. An additional comment to the Landspeeder: TLG often argues with too less playability and too less action elements as reason for why they do not release some (contents of some) sets. Considering the Landspeeder: If they included two Tuskens and a Bantha - wouldn't there have been much more playability and action elements than when only including a Sandtrooper and a Spy Droid?! The Luke's Landspeeder set would have been a set if it was part of a Mos Eisley Cantina set or if it included two Tuskens, a Bantha and either Luke's or Ben's home. But as a set which only includes the Landspeeder and some minifigs it is . Which desturbs me even more is that since TLG only releases the same vehicle in a minimum distance of two years and of TLG didn't continue the license of SW after 2011 we won't see any Ben's home and Luke's home, no Bantha, no decent Mos Eisley Cantina and no new Tuskens. I'm not even sure whether the TIE Fighter itself was a production model at the times of the CW. This is the first EU set that I think is great ... based on prelim pics. Jury is still out for actual final pics and reviews. Edited September 9, 2009 by Fumoffu Quote

Yea im with you Ras. If lego made a few standard TIE sets that could be put in a collection like the TIE collection or the 3 in 1 superpack that would be a lot better than having a new TIE each year. Not that I dont like the TIE defender but I dont really prefer EU since I have never read about it nor seen it in one of the movies. The TIE defender looks nice but I would rather but that money toward another set like the arc 170. Thats just my two cents anyway Quote

Shompis Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Tie Defender was the pinnacle of the fighters in the Tie Fighter game on PC. I can not understand how people dislike this model. It is so slick. Quote
