Delta 38 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) Hmm... the shuttle is great, but I'll have to see the size and price first to make up my mind. As for the AT-AT, as I've probably said before, the minifigs aren't great. Again, I'll need to wait and see if this is affordable enough... EDIT: I've just noticed the background (is that Endor?). Now that we've finally seen images, I guess the UCS debate is over for this set. Edited June 9, 2010 by Delta 38 Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I like these sets already, I'll probably only get the SD so I can get other sets. that shuttle just looks epic. My guess is that it will be similar in function to the large Death Star set. What function do you mean? Quote
OneSnowTrooper Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) The shuttle looks good but what I dont understand is the "clone theme" upper right corner of box ... why then a stormtrooper minifig ?....or is it just me ? I expected an OT box. If you zoom into the shuttle it seems the cockpit is 2 seats wide (I think I see 2 MF next to each other) Edited June 9, 2010 by OneSnowTrooper Quote
Smack Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) Whung you are truely a pimp among Bothan spies! I have (as well as everyone else) been watching this thread for what seems like forever hoping for new pics a you %100 deliver! The AT AT is a must have as I did not get the other two and I will have to get that second job I always wanted for the Shuttle. It looks huge! I wonder what it would look like next to the UCS Falcon? I expected an OT box. That question was answered before... The Clone Wars box is being used for basically all the SW sets for the second half of this year, regardless of which episode the set if for. KimT Posted June 9, 2010 Author Posted June 9, 2010 Can anyone make out what figures come with the AT-AT and the shuttle? You did check the first post in this topic before asking that, didn't you? The AT-AT is a little dodgy when it comes to the figs - it's hard to make out from the box if our info on it is right. I'm fairly sure the figs in the UCS Shuttle are right though. Quote
jmadd58 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I LOVE THAT SHUTTLE! Although I'll probably never get it, it'll probably be extremely overpriced in Australia, like every other LEGO set Quote
Svelte Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 The more I look at the picture of the Shuttle, the more I realize how big it actually is. The shuttle looks to be about the same size as the one done by cavegod here. That would mean that much of the nose of the ship is made up of these . Yes, I agree that the cockpit is the same as the one used for the sunroof in the Grand Emporium. And you can tell from counting the slope bricks along the edge of the front of the middle 'fin' just how high that part is going to be. This set is going to be massive! Too massive, to be honest. Even if it really is minifig scale I don't see how you could possibly display this near any other set without it looking ridiculous (apart from maybe the 10179 Falcon?) I like the smaller swooshable shuttles, even if they are less detailed, but that middle wing only looks 1 brick wide - if you try and swoosh it it may fly off and decapitate nearby bystanders For 2,500 pieces I'd love to know what the AUD price is too. $AUD500 is actually a conservative guesstimate based on this year's SW pricing. Come on LEGO! You can break your own price-to-piece ratios every 6 months! Make it $600, or push the boundaries of $700! Quote

For years AFOLs have been clamoring for a true, minifig scale shuttle. Now it looks like we are getting one ( ), and you want to complain that it's too big? For that matter, since when is any LEGO set too big, anyway. Quote
John31388 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Thanks for the pic's the shuttle is awesome to bad I think it will be outta my price range with a baby on the way. Quote
BrickClick Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Thanks for the pic's the shuttle is awesome to bad I think it will be outta my price range with a baby on the way. Congratulations I can finally get another jedi luke in the shuttle as I lost my sail barge one I'm very good at loosing LEGO. Quote
Corvus Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Ooh. The shuttle looks great. The lines are so smooth... I really hope that it's not a single piece, as others have said. Still, as a UCS, it's hard to imagine lego doing that. Quote
The Legonater Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 If that cockpit is a BPP, than that's a big waste of money. Quote
The Eye Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Congratulations I can finally get another jedi luke in the shuttle as I lost my sail barge one I'm very good at loosing LEGO. So am I! Oh, and if you can't get the shuttle, there's always Bricklink for Luke. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?pg=1&a...mp;searchSort=P I for one am amazed at the shuttle, but more amazed at the Midi-Scale Star Destroyer. Unlike many people, I *love* the midi-scale Millennium Falcon and I now love the midi-scale Star Destroyer. Looks like there's no sticker sheet, either! Yee-haw! The AT-AT, however, I find somewhat disappointing. How many pieces is it? If that cockpit is a BPP, than that's a big waste of money. I've heard of BURP and LURP, but what is a BPP? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 (edited) Box photos of 8099, 8128 and 10212 were found! (But a bit small)8099 Midi-scale Imperial Star Destroyer [snip] Not much attractive, scale similar to 7778. 8129 AT-AT Walker [snip] It is Limited Edition 10212 [snip] Definitely skipping the ISD Don't know what C-3PO is doing in the AT-AT set, but it looks to have a good minifig assortment. On the positive side, the Tydirium just launched itself to the top of my Christmas List. I've been needing wanting an Emporor Palpatine for some time, and the Imp forces will sweeten the deal. EDIT: No Palpy fig, and $250???? Nevermind. BPP? Refers to a large, single-piece molded element. (Forgot the exact wording) Edited June 9, 2010 by Brickdoctor Quote
drdavewatford Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 The Shuttle looks absolutely stunning ! I've been itching for a new monster Star Wars set, and LEGO certainly haven't let us down - thanks, chaps ! On the downside, the AT-AT appears to be utterly pointless. The previous version, which looks to be about the same size, is still on sale at shop@home....... Unless you're a minifig obsessive, it seems like a waste of a set, to be honest. Can anyone explain why they would overlap 2 similar AT-ATs ? Bizarre. No doubt the price point will be higher, however, so I guess that's one reason..... It's hard to get a clear impression of the midi scale ISD, but I'm sure it'll be worth getting - a no-brainer for me. Thanks for posting the pics !! Quote
Brickus Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Okay, I'm definitely getting that Shuttle, It looks amazing. Quote
The Legonater Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 I've heard of BURP and LURP, but what is a BPP? BPP: Big Precise/Pointless PiecesA term developed by our very own *yoda* for <insert that tiresome argument> pieces (the larger pieces intended for younger builders, usually, but not always found in 4+ sets). This does NOT include Duplo or Quatro pieces. There . Quote

This does NOT include Duplo or Quatro pieces. Yeah, I was just about to say that! Now if you'd stop posting so fast, I could think! Can anyone explain why they would overlap 2 similar AT-ATs ? Bizarre. No doubt the price point will be higher, however, so I guess that's one reason..... The Motorized AT-AT has fewer minifigs due to it's inclusion of PF, and I suspect it's well along the road to retirement. More minifigs and fewer Technic mechanisms will appeal to the latest generation of CW fans. Quote

More minifigs and fewer Technic mechanisms will appeal to the latest generation of CW fans. All true, but it still shows a stunning lack of imagination.... It was bad enough releasing a new Slave 1 so soon after 6209, but this is ridiculous ! Anyway, when all is said and done I have no complaint with the Shuttle and the midi ISD to look forward to, so it's all good ! Quote
Rinconstar Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 (edited) The shuttles wings look like they will snap off very easily. I wonder how big the shuttle is? seems very cool Edited June 10, 2010 by Rinconstar Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Thanks whung for the pics! It's nice to finally see these much-anticipated sets, though I don't see myself getting any of these three (not a fan of midi-scaled sets and large expensive sets). Can't wait to see hi-res pics of these soon. Quote
greenskull139 Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 (edited) Oh!Ah! that shuttle looks fabulous! Lego finally made a minifigure accurate shuttle No matter how much they try or how many minifigs they put in, lego still can't make a decent sized at-at. I personally do not care for midi-scale so whatever on that. Edited June 10, 2010 by greenskull139 Quote
Just Imagine Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 The shuttle cockpit looks like one giant hunk of plastic, meaning we will get less for our money. Everything else looks great about it, though. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 No matter how much they try or how many minifigs they put in, lego still can't make a decent sized at-at. It's not a matter of whether TLG can make a minifig-scale AT-AT or not, but whether they can sell the set. Such minifig-scale AT-AT would be very very expensive, and I don't think it would be very feasible sales-wise since only a few rich collectors would be able to afford that. Quote
