XimenaPaulina Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 (edited) the new at-at looks like a baby at-at lol -> fail Also agree. The AT-AT looks really small relative to its realistic size. I know it's not intended to be UCS, but still, it just doesn't look right to me because it's way off the minifig scale. I'd rather make a more realisic MOC (Bricklink parts) than purchase this one. And the minifigs aren't that interesting too (I bet most SW fans already have these - what's the use of getting another set of these figs?) Edited June 26, 2010 by KielDaMan Quote
Fallenangel Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 The new AT-AT is extremely deformed. It reminds me of that joke of a set LEGO called an AT-ST back in '07. I agree that this really is the worst set of the year. I'm glad LEGO is making another midi-scale set, especially since it's of yet another UCS set! (Waiting for a midi-scale N-1, Tantive IV, and TIE Interceptor)Of course, it looks a bit deformed for an Imperial-class. I expect to have some fun nitpicking it. I cannot recognize Cad Bane's speeder at all... does anyone have a screenshot or something of what it's supposed to be? Quote

This is the only pic I found so far, not much to look at but you'll see the resemblance. I'll try to get better pics next time. Quote

Its from the Clone Wars TV series and I believe its only seen in the episode ''Hostage Crisis'' Anyway heres a pic: (Taken from Def's ''rewatching the clone wars'' Quote
mordatre Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 I will definately buy the new AT-AT (1 for me and 1 for my son). I think it´s mentioned before but the legs are maybe 1 studs shorter, the head and body is only 1-3 studs shorter so it´s really not that small. All the minifigs are photoshopped into the picture so you cannot use them as reference to it´s size. Of course there will be some small moddings, but that´s just fun. Quote
RoryoCox Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Thanks for the pictures. That AT-AT looks alright but I like Luke's new helmet print. Also, C-3PO's eye printing. The speeder looks really nice and I will be getting it. However, there seems to be a lot of stickers. Quote
LoRd AmUnRa Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 an other video an pic of the 10212 Imperial Shuttle vid Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 You've been busy again 'grogall' and thanks for the pictures too ! Well I have already decided on getting Slave 1, but not the CTT, why because I'll get Bane's speeder anyway. On that subject it's a pity that Jabba's Uncle didn't also come with it, now that would have be very COOL indeed. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Dr.Butcher Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 an other video an pic of the 10212 Imperial Shuttle vid nice But is there really no driver in the AT-AT set? I hoped for a more accurate set, since I don't have the old ones. I probably will wait for the first reviews and decide then. Well I have already decided on getting Slave 1 The Slave 1 is a great set, especially Han Solo in Carbonite looks very good. Worth buying. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 nice But is there really no driver in the AT-AT set? I hoped for a more accurate set, since I don't have the old ones. I probably will wait for the first reviews and decide then. Me too. I'll be waiting for the Black Friday special if I buy anything. I loved the freeco speeder IMO, Blocky+stickers+low minifig count+high price=fail. Quote
KimT Posted June 26, 2010 Author Posted June 26, 2010 But is there really no driver in the AT-AT set? What makes you think there's no driver in the AT-AT? 8129 - AT-ATPieces: 815 Price: 89.99 GBP / 109.99 USD Minifigs: 8 (C3P0, Hoth Rebel, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Snowtrooper x 2, AT-AT Driver & General Veers) Release: ? 2010 This has been the info on that set in the first post for several months. -JD- Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 (edited) I think I just wet myself. That Star Destroyer is fantastic! As is the AT-AT! Thanks for these great pictures! Edited June 26, 2010 by Jammiedodger714 Quote
BrickClick Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Wait has the Bronze Boba fett been discussed yet? I mean the one from the news topic? Well anyway IMO it looks awesome! And if you took off the helmet you would be left with a plain bronze minifig Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 What makes you think there's no driver in the AT-AT? This has been the info on that set in the first post for several months. Are you questioning the skills of our Bothan spies? Maybe it's because the cockpit looks downsized to the point that it might not fit a minifig. Quote
Dr.Butcher Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Are you questioning the skills of our Bothan spies? never I presumed that there's no driver because of the posted photos. What a relieve Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Wait has the Bronze Boba fett been discussed yet? I mean the one from the news topic? [snip] Well anyway IMO it looks awesome! And if you took off the helmet you would be left with a plain bronze minifig I think it's already been discussed. Besides, it's not nice to make people long for what they can't have. Quote
The Legonater Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 IMO, Blocky+stickers+low minifig count+high price=fail. IMP, Not blocky-stickers don't matter-great minifigs-money is little object+great Quote
yellost Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 Thanks for the pics, Grogall. That ISD looks much better than what I made of the earlier pic, but I'm still not sure I'm sold. I'll have to wait for a review before making up my mind, I think. Looks like it'll be about 30 studs long. Around the length of the midi MF, then... Quote
ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted June 26, 2010 Posted June 26, 2010 I think it's already been discussed. Besides, it's not nice to make people long for what they can't have. Has it been announced who won? Quote
hdface Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Thanks a lot for those pics  ; The ISD looks great imo, I loved the Midi Falcon, and have been wanting a Star Destroyer model that wouldn't break the bank and could fit in my house. I would've liked a larger AT-AT though, both others had over 1000 pieces. I'll probably still get it since I didn't get either of the previous two, though I'll make sure after a review is posted or instructions come online. That shuttle is not particularly accurate, and the opposite side of that top wing shows the underside of the plates. Yuck To finish on a positive note, Slave I looks fantastic The last version I have is Jango's from 2002. When I first got that it fell apart as my brother picked it up... Speaking of which, TLG needs to release moar EpII stuff - the Jedi battle on Geonosis would be fantastic... Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) Thank you very much for these high-res pics, grogall! Mid-scale ISD: It doesn't look bad. Nevertheless I'd prefered a regular ISD with interior and minifigs. AT-AT: Its design is much better than I firstly feared. The cannon is a great addition. The only thing I really do not like is that we get again a completely wrong torso for General Veers! Why isn't TLG able to give us the right torso (with four instead of three blue and red markings)?! And then they evenn release that minifigure as General Veers although it's a completely regular Imp. Snow Commander. If TLG would be fair at name this minifigure Imp. Snow Commaner and not General Veers I'd possibly buy this set, but so ... Instead of giving us two completely unneccessary and unfitting minifigs in this set (C-3PO and Han) they'd better given us an actual General Veers. I really don't understand why TLG releases that many new minifgs for the rebels, but nearly no new one for the empire - e. g. the new Han fig is absolutely dispensable. -JD- Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) Brickset has lots of pictres of the AT-AT! Se 'em here! Reminds me of the old version with the seating area, and there is a place for the Driver! Edited June 27, 2010 by Jammiedodger714 Quote
