RoryoCox Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 The AT-AT looks fine. I will be modding it with a bigger cockpit and for it to actually have an interior. Thanks for the link to the pictures. Quote

YavinBase Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 I wonder why LEGO reduced the size and greebling of the new AT-AT. Based on the photographs on Brickset it appears that it doesn’t have seats for troops in the main hull, and there is no sign of a speeder bike. Another disappointing observation is that the view port is a sticker and not printed. The only positives that I can see are the upgrades to Han and Luke. Someone in a previous thread mentioned printing on C-3PO’s eyes. I thought it was something reflecting off the eyes in the photograph, but it could be printing I suppose. The figure upgrades are not enough to justify purchasing in my opinion unless you don’t have 4483 or the motorized version, or if one is purely a LEGO SW completist. In my opinion it's too bad LEGO didn't reduce the minifigure count and delete the laser dish in order to increase the AT-AT piece count thus making it more similar to 4483. I am looking forward to seeing actual side by side comparison photographs of the new AT-AT to 4483 from some of the members here. Quote
yellost Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 (edited) From what I can see from Brickset, it seems like this platform slides in there to store the troops. But it does look much shorter than the first version, where there was enough space to seat 2 minifigs beside each other on both side of the model and still had room for their blasters... Dr.Butcher Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 looks good to me. yeah, and there's the driver Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Brickset has lots of pictres of the AT-AT! Se 'em here! Reminds me of the old version with the seating area, and there is a place for the Driver! Wow! The AT-AT may just be the best choice for me now! Considering my budget... Quote
KimT Posted June 27, 2010 Author Posted June 27, 2010 See? I told you our info was right when it comes to the figs in the AT-AT. When will you guys learn to check the first post before you start a fire Quote
The Legonater Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 See? That's better right? Now stop whining, all. Quote
Bricklanta Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 I hate how Star Wars Lego is starting to get repetitive and expensive. Well it has been for awhile now anyway. Quote
mutley777 Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 See? That's better right? Now stop whining, all. You are joking aren't you? This set looks awful! Quote
Fallenangel Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 What, only one driver in the cockpit again? (Come on LEGO, be cool.) And that rear space looks so cramped... no extra seats for battle pack troopers... too much unnecessary junk. That little platform looks so weird... I thought Veers (at least I think it's supposed to be Veers) was in the cockpit with the drivers? It looks like they forgot the "toe" on the inside of the foot again. Those holes near the top look atrocious. Save the unnecessary minifigures for your Clone Wars sets LEGO and give us a proper AT-AT! Quote
Corvus Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 What, only one driver in the cockpit again? Well, at least the cockpit isn't blue in this one... I suppose that's an improvement over 4483. Meh, I'm not a fan of this one, and I'll stick to my old one. What really bums me out, though, is that lego just isn't likely to make a UCS or even semi-UCS model for a long time- seeing as this one came so recently after the motorized version, I don't think a UCS version will be in demand. Oh well, at least we have the shuttle to keep us happy. It's a bit of a bummer that we have to attach the landing gear, and that there's no landing ramp... but that's what modding is for, isn't it? Brickdoctor Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 You are joking aren't you? This set looks awful! [snip] I wouldn't go as far as 'awful'; maybe....unproportionate*. The only reason I really like it is the minifig selection, and because I know it's nothing a little modding won't fix. Make the armor plates a little bigger, increase the size of the frame, and viola! *No, that's not a word. Well, at least the cockpit isn't blue in this one... I suppose that's an improvement over 4483. LEGO gave up on blue - they like yellow and red, now. Quote

MrTools Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 I think the AT-AT is okay, not near perfect but not terrible. If i get one of these it would most likely be something to do some serious MODding to, which wouldnt be too hard considering it already has an interior. But the best news out of these new sets is the speeder. Its actualy one of the first clone wars sets that i have seen that actualy looks fantastic. (IMO) As for the star destroyer, its okay but not something i see myself getting. Maybe if i can find a good place for it and it has a good price. Maybe... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 Remember when Lego was into using as much tan as they could in sets? (2003, 2004) Yup. I had the X-Wing and Yoda's hut. That wasn't as bad as it could've been though, and I do remember blue and yellow in there. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 (edited) Don't forget the Falcon. Yeah, but I didn't get it. I ended up getting the MINI Falcon, which is the only Falcon I have. Oh, oh, and the Mos Eisley 'Cantina' had a lot of tan in it! Edited June 28, 2010 by Brickdoctor Quote
-JD- Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 You are joking aren't you? This set looks awful! Oh c'mon! I bet you're going to get more than three of them. ...maybe....unproportionate*... *No, that's not a word. No, it isn't. I think the word you're looking for is disproportionate. I think it looks okay. My only gripes are the interior sections and the small body. Quote
Forresto Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 (edited) Okay, has anyone seen this set? Brickmaster Nov-Dec 210: 20016 Lego mini AT-AT Walker It's in the new summer 2010 lego catologue. I'll try and take pic if I can. Just posted it. Edited June 28, 2010 by Forresto Quote
lightningtiger Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 What a excellent find 'Forresto' - I can now see it.... a dozen of these built up attacking a micro scale rebel MOC ! I might be tempted into building just one of them when the instructions are up on Lego.com customer service web page. I'm a conformist! ! Quote

The Legonater Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 LEGO gave up on blue - they like yellow and red, now. I really find that pathetic. Why are they trying to cram as many colours as possible in one set now-a-days? Quote

Legoman Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Hey guys. Not sure if anyone cares at all, but I just got my latest Lego catalogue. Here's a couple of scans. Nothing new, but they are new pics. Enjoy Quote
