cavegod Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I wish there was a better shot of that cockpit... other than that it's sweet. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=438712 Quote
ThatGuyWithTheBricks Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Oh god why do they have to use that stupid face for Luke! It may work for Ep 4 but not for Ep 6! God dangit TLG! <rantmode off> Seriously, though. Why would Luke be so happy/snide then? Quote
Anio Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=438712 Eventually, it is no so impressive. I mean it is big, and looks good. But the mechanism of the wings is really poor... edit : the designer need to do a training period in the Technic departement to achieve such a mechanisme : Edited July 19, 2010 by Anio Quote
The Legonater Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 ungh... the windo IS a BPP. Who's gonna need a window THAT big? On the bright sider- it seats two. Quote
Brickus Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I love this shuttle, I don't care about the lack of features, because I'll only use it for display, like it's meant for. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I love this shuttle, I don't care about the lack of features, because I'll only use it for display, like it's meant for. Same here, the shuttle looks great IMO. If there were any flaws in the design, those are things a few modding can't fix. And after building the shuttle, the lack of features goes down the drain since the shuttle will eventually go into the display shelf where it belongs. Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 ungh... the windo IS a BPP. Who's gonna need a window THAT big? On the bright sider- it seats two. I didn't think the fact that the windscreen was a single piece was ever in question. It looks to be a 2 x 12 x 4 windscreen. What people were worried about was that the entire cockpit section was one big BPP, and that certainly is NOT true. I'm sure some enterprising MOCers can make use of a large windscreen. Quote

Even if I think that the Imperial Shuttle is not perfect, I have to thank TLG for making new UCS !!! edit : it has some similitaires with cavegod starfighter. Cavegod, have you been contacted by TLG, like Dmac for the 10212 ? Edited July 20, 2010 by Anio Quote
Clone OPatra Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Good guessing to all those that thought it would be EpII. I honestly thought it wouldn't be, since LEGO has not released anything from EpII since the movie itself came out, but I'm pleasantly surprised. With this, LEGO shows that it really knows what it's doing with the UCS line, which is geared towards adults anyway. Why do I say that? Well, if they were marketing it towards kids, it would probably be Clone Wars since that would be more relevant, but they know that adults collectors will love the EpII version. I'm especially intrigued by the new large R4 dome. I can't wait to see close-ups soon. Quote
Jar Jar Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) I guess that solves it. The Starfighter is UCS. Apparently, it seems that they included no Obi Wan figure. I thought they would considering of the amount of minifigures in UCS sets lately. It looks sleek to me, but the only problem might be the R2 unit. It looks to HASBRO to me, or I am just crazy. Clone OPatra Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I thought they would considering of the amount of minifigures in UCS sets lately. There have only been minifigures in two UCS sets. Besides, when they make UCS of smaller ships (such as the X-Wing, Snowspeeder, Y-Wing, etc.) they can't include minifigures because the scale is all wrong. For these ships the scale is about right to minifigures in the normal System versions, whereas the UCS versions are big detailed display pieces (with the added ability of swooshing in the nude). The R4 head looks like a new larger dome piece, printed. I think in the small picture it just looks like the head is an odd molded piece, while it may really turn out just to be printing. You never know, though, they could've molded a big R4 head. At any rate, it's much better than the tiny R2 they used in the UCS X-Wing and Naboo Fighter. Quote

BigDumbWookiee Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 http://www.starwars.com/vault/collecting/lego_cubedudes/index.html Interesting. I'd love to get a set but sounds like it will be nigh impossible. Not a big fan of the prequel stuff so Im more looking forward to the Empire Strikes Back set. Wonder if these would ever see a mainstream release? Quote
prateek Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Yay! We finally find out what the SDCC exclusives are. I like them, especially C3PO Quote

mutley777 Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Now that is a beautiful set! The printed droid looks amazing! Makes me wonder why it was never done for the original UCS X-wing. no i have'nt but i have emailed them! Good luck with that! Maybe they will send you out a free copy of the set! That might help soften the blow. Quote

mutley777 Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 See? I told you guys it was to be UCS Well we do not have your inside information to go on do we. However i did think this would be a UCS set too. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Where'd you see the $75 price? FBTB.net has a full report. CubeDudes come disassembled in a box, 416 pieces, with a limited sale of 450 boxes per day. Shouldn't this be discussed in the 2010 Rumors thread? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Wow that's nice. It does bear a striking resemblance to cavegod's Delta-7, and it's not like that's the only way build one. I may get one if the price is acceptable just to get the R4 dome for my UCS V-wing, but if that is the final model and the piece is just a printed 4x4 dome, it might be too big. And in the Naboo Starfighter's defense, the UCS N-1 is smaller than the 2007 System scale set, and Astro-droid minifig's aren't to-scale with 'regular' minifigs. And... I don't know if we're discussing CubeDudes here or in the new thread, but here's the picture of the box they come in: Set of 5 comes disassembled in 416 pieces, limited sale of 450 for $75 per day.
