I have a question. Are the new battle packs really 442 pieces? Or is that just a typo? It seems awfully a lot for what essentially should be similarly priced as previous battle packs.

This has already been answered. TLG hasn't decided how many pieces they should put in it so they chose 442 pieces to fill it in. XXX would have made more been a smarter desicion. I'm backing up Millacol88 here. I'm sure the Turbo Tank will be CW. CW is temporarily replacing PT. Also a Turbo Tank is shown in CW season 2 preview.

It are just preliminary pictures, so the sets will probably not contain 442 pieces. Someone on the design department was probably very lazy. It happens every year that the box art changes. They seem to take the pictures again etc...

I'm backing uo Millacol88 here. I'm sure the CTT will be CW because CW has replacing PT. Also a CTT is shown in CW season 2 preview.

Sorry, but I didn't understand any of tha :cry_happy: t.

Here's a "translation".

"I am backing up Millacol here. I am sure that the Clone Turbo Tank (aka Juggernaut) will be a Clone Wars version, since it seems like the Prequel Trilogy (episodes I - III) sets have been temporarily replaced by Clone Wars sets. Also, a Clone Turbo Tank is shown in the Star Wars the Clone Wars season 2 television series preview."

Understand now?

I also agree with Millacol. It seems that LEGO will be making a large amount of Clone Wars sets (instead of Prequel Trilogy sets) for at least one more year.

I would really have rephrased that question, I would have asked "Why 442 and not XXX?" Not, "Are there really 442 pieces in the battlepacks?"

Really, can't you answer your own question?

I was sure with all these new Episode III sets there'd be a new Episode III line, and Baby said there would be, but he lied, lied, lied! So yeah, it'll be a CW remake, which I guarantee won't be much difference, as there was in the new Tri-Fighter and ARC-170. There are obvious differences, but all around a normal human couldn't spot the differences at first glance, unless the color scheme is altered, like in the Fighter.

I agree, the CTT will probably be clone wars because for one it's in The Clone War season 2, and secondly Hasbro's CTT is from the Clone Wars. However it's still possible it will be PT because it looks like the ARC-170 will be PT style.

I think the CTT will be CW too. I think we have enough proof to make it 50/50, because we all saw the Turbo Tank in the Clone Wars Season 2 clip and in ROTS. I have a few ideas for the figures:

Ahsoka

Rex

2 Clones

1 Pilot

And maybe a few SBDs, because those characters were all in that little snippet of Season 2.

I really hope Aayla  would be in it, and not Ashoka. It's sort've a selfish reeason mainly because I already have Ashoka, but I also think we need a Twi'lek minifigure. First of all I think the CTT could be a chance to let lego do another clone wars jedi and commander rather then just Anikan, Ashoka, Obi-wan. Not that I don't like them it's just I would rather have lego do Ki-Adi-Mundi and Bacara or Aayla Secura and Bly ect... Besides Aayla Secura and Bly would make sense for the CTT because in the clip from season two, the CTT is on Felucia and Aayla and Bly are eventually stationed there.

Are you trying to make me cry?

An Aayla...hmmm chances are so very, very slim, yet it just might be profound enough to work. But what do I care, I've already got an Aayla from Arealight!

It's true, she will be in the CTT in season 2, if I remember the preview right. I also have Ahsoka, so I just put her in different clothes and call it a Shaak Ti, with very short braintails.

Prove it. :pir-hmpf_bad:

I can't prove it, but I can make a more grown-up argument then you did ("prove it"). Lego is marketed to boys aged 7-10, and the current CW line is what's popular to them right now, because its new, and they can watch the series and connect what they see with the lego they just bought. To those who think the CTT will be Episode 3: Those boys aged 7-10 Lego is marketing to were around 3-6 years old when Episode 3 came out, and so probably weren't that aware of it. So it just doesn't make sense to market toys to children that are based on a movie they never saw, nor cared about. CW is the flavour of the month, ergo the money-maker.

I figured that it would be, you just sounded so.....confident, I thought that you may have known for sure or something, and wanted to know if you could 'prove it'. :sadnew: I agree with that, and Lego seems to only be making either Clone Wars or OT right now. I love the Clone Wars line, I hope that they continue it, you just never know when they are going to thrown out something new...

I think the CTT will probably be clone wars. It would be nice to have it from episode three but the times are changing and the clone wars line has been a bit success for everyone. For me I dont really care if its clone wars or EPIII, I just want some good new exclusive minifigs with it or I wont buy it

I can't imagine there being much difference in the actual tank with it being CW... Unless you were talking about the minifigs. In that case they will be very different...hopefully, though, we'll be seeing some new minifigs in it. I've given up hoping for Aayla Secura, though.

Your theory is flawed.

So what about sets that are based from the other Episodes? Those kids never saw those nor care.

Personally if the CTT is ROTS or CW it does'nt really matter, because if the kids think the tank is cool enough they will buy it anyways. Revenge of the Sith is'nt that old that 10 year olds would'nt have seen it. It's not like the original trilogy where a lot of these "little" kids are ignorant of the ships and stuff. All i'm saying is that if the tank is cool enough and comes with some good jedi, regardless which phase of clones it is or if it's ROTS or CW, kids will buy it. I'm still hoping for a Aayla because Arealight's Twi'lek heads in blue alway's sell out too fast.

And who is to say there aren't any Ep3 fanboys?

-Omi

The OT is different enough to make a separate line to please older fans, as they'll still bring in lots of money. Revenge of the Sith is similar enough to the Clone Wars to please most Episode 3 fans (except you, it seems  ).

I take your point - a very good one - that the target marketplace are going to be more interested in the 'here and now' that is The Clone Wars; however I think part of George Lucas' aim with this silly cartoon is to promote the whole genre, and therefore the films, to a younger audience. I was but 3 years old when A New Hope came out; the first SW film I saw was Empire Strikes Back, and yet that provoked a life-long love-affair with the saga. I'm sure the same will happen with the younger generation. I just wish he'd get on and make episodes 7, 8 and 9 he promised oh so long ago.

This being said, much as I wish you weren't, I'm sure you're right and these new sets will be Clone Wars.

To jump into the mysterious Landspeeder figure argument, I've looked at the pics many times, and I've become more convinced that squeaky-voiced Garindan is lurking there. Wishful thinking perhaps....

The new Arc 170 Starfighter has been revealed and t looks good. With three figs- 2 pilots, astromech droid and what I think is KIT FISTO!

EDIT:Pics removed by Ras. Should have put a link, but was to lazy

Also new is the landspeeder and it looks as if we have- R2 D2, C3p0, Obi-Wan, Luke skywalker and a Sandtrooper

If these pictures are real then I will definitely be buying them when they come out!!
