ADHO15 Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Thank you rockinkurt13, so arc starfighter is also from episode 3 that´s mean we don´t get three phase I clone pilot?? Probably not, but there's a chance we could get some redesigned Phase 2 pilots to look more like this: Quote
Tinn-man Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 More screen grabs: 1. Possible look of the new landspeeder: 2. Possible new Carbonite-Frozen Han Solo: I'm not saying that these ARE they new products, but it's highly possible. Quote
-JD- Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 OH! More rumours! I had to be away when this happened. Ilike the sound of Palp's shuttle. More guards and the new style Chancellor woud be great! As for everyting else, they all make me excited! Except that speeder. Hopefully he has a very bad memory. Malevolence would be petty nice ship to see in idi, but it was not that much of a main ship in the SW Universe. I think the GG was vamped up for the video, just like the Droidekas in Revenge of the Brick. However ball joints would be cool. Anyway, I need to go catch up. Quote
The Who Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Grievous: I sure hope we'll get a new General Grievous. Getting him with ball-joints will be awesome. It would also be great if the arms were split in two with a rubber connection a lá the rubber used in the last Exo-Force wave. - Though I doubt we'll get such an elaborate minifig ever. Rather than rubber, a more plausible solution would be to have the arms in two pieces that snap together by a small axle, so as to let the arms pivot freely without falling apart. It is hard to describe what I am thinking of, hope it makes sense. And you said "Getting him with ball joints will be awesome." Will be? Do you know something we don't, or are you assuming they will be on the fig? Personally I would not want the Malevolence, as I have a ton of useless Grevious's already, but if there were other interesting new figs, I would reconsider. You can also see a carbonite-frozen Han Solo on 2:19 in The Quest for R2-D2 video!Edit: also a chrome Vader! And also a Chrome C-3PO, but that has very close to nothing to do with 2010 Pictures/Rumors. Quote

Tarfful Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) So basically, according to the majority in this thread, anything and seemingly everything that was seen in the CN LEGO mini-movie is now a rumor? Some things are way more plausible than others. And truth to be told, I would love it if every rumor people have suggested / made up came true, but come on! Let's just be slightly more realistic about this, okay? /rant over. Anyway, the new set lists are extremely tantalizing. I hope that some of them will be Ep.III and not CW as earlier suggested as I'm getting a little sick of the CW orientated minifigs. Now I just have to somehow gather up the patience to wait for the prelim pics to see how this will all pan out. Hopefully I we won't have to wait that long :b ||Tarfful Edited August 29, 2009 by Tarfful Quote
Darth Legolas Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Thank god IlikePi posted a youtube link. I completely missed that video! There are tons of hints in that thing, wow Lego. Thank's to Rockincurt, I had a hunch we were opening up a new Episode III line! The Malevolence still looks to small to have any interior, so it's probably Midi-Scale! Stop yapping about all of these new minifigs. The Greivous looks good, but I'm not so sure that we'll be getting it. IPadme should come in the Malevolence if they are making it. Off Topic: Jedi Temple mini! Quote

The whole thing was like one big, funny advert. It featured as many LEGO vehicles and figs as it could in 5 mins including OT sets and a peek at the new Tantive IV set. We get rumours of a new ARC-170 fighter and then one keeps showing up in this video. If it is the old one, they didn't have to put it in. It's years old. Some kind of Malevolence set is possible as well. Surely they wouldn't go to the trouble of designing the model for the cartoon if they weren't going to make a real one. It was a key ship in the CW series. I agree some things are looked into a bit far, but we can dream, can't we? The Greivous looks good, but I'm not so sure that we'll be getting it. Then why would they bother to add those black bits to his arms, legs and torso? In all the past cartoons like this, they've just had the ordinary white Grievous. We are rumoured to be getting his starfighter, so it's perfectly plausible that we'll get this new Grievous too. Edited August 29, 2009 by ADHO15 Quote

True that. I wonder though, how well would his arms stay on with ball joints? The only time we've ever seen tube-sized ball joints are at the tips of the Lego antennae pieces. Thinking about it, since there were no hints to Greivous's starfighter, maybe that's what the Malevolence is! You're definitely right about the ARC-170. But none of the pictures are good enough to tell. Really, the original was PERFECT, so I have no clue what to change about it. Maybe just a re-release with slight updates. Oh, like Lego used to. All of those old Hoth sets. I assume Skywalker world will be opening at Legoland" Actually, I don't. I read the assumption off of the youtube comments. Also those landspeeders are probably the new one, of course there wasn't a good enough look. Curse you, clever Lego! Quote

I think they might be a little intricate and unique to attempt. I'd love to be proved wrong here, though. At points in the cartoon, Grievous looked as though his torso was the same, with a bar on each side to clip his arms onto. It may have just been the animation that made it look like they were ball joints. I mean, ordinary figs don't have bendy arms and legs, do they? Soulless One was featured in the cartoon. You can see it shortly after he finds R2-D2 on Tatooine. That could have been the new one as well. I agree, the views just aren't good enough to tell. Quote
sologuy369 Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Rockinkurt, Title idea: inside '10 LSW man( or brick...or spy...) "secret agent man " . Our inside man needs a picture too! Is "Freeco speeder" and/or "Wampa attack" $10 sets? What are the fig(s) for the speeder? Hope this isn't too much . Quote
yellost Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 (edited) here are some more screenshots of the Cartoon taken from the HD version. From what I can see, the ARC 170 is definitely different from the old version. The engines are built differently and there are two guns at the back instead of just one. the canopies seems to be angular and the front seems to be built with curved slopes, too. those are the only landspeeders I could find in the cartoon and as you can see, they're not even LEGO built... Grievous' ball joints are nice but I do think it's been made more to make the animation easier than anything else, seeing as there is so little difference with the original one (but then again, they did make a new skeletton torso with a very little difference to accomodate the new arms, so maybe...) The Malevolent is interesting by its scale. it could open up like the venator and have some space inside but not by much... Or maybe they'll start a new midi scale line like the MF and we'll have even more like those Oh, and a blurry one of GG's Starfighter, but I don't think it's a new version. from the back, it seems to be the old one. still, hope that helps... Jedi Master Fangorn Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 In light of getting new Clone Wars-style figures for everyone under the sun, it's perfectly plausible that they would redo General Grievous, too. But I have no idea how they would do any kind of ball joint (though it would be fantastic). On a different note, does it strike anyone else how strange it would be for Lego to release a Plo Koon Starfighter when they just put Koon in a high-dollar set? Especially when (at least at my local Toys R Us), both sets would be selling at the same time!? Just a thought. Quote
hunterx Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Dince theres new episode 3 sets coming out. Does that mean we might get new battlepacks for episode 3? Quote
sologuy369 Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 Dince theres new episode 3 sets coming out. Does that mean we might get new battlepacks for episode 3? WRONG!, Unless you think rockinkurt is wrong. Rockinkurt said that 4-5 sets were episode III. Is he right, is he wrong? ? Quote

Especially when (at least at my local Toys R Us), both sets would be selling at the same time!? Just a thought. I think TLG will release Plo Koon's Starfighter not because of the Plo Koon minifig but because of the JSF itself, which most will agree is a thing of beauty (the color scheme most especially). I think most people will buy this set to get the JSF, and this will be agreat chance for others to get Plo's minifig in a much cheaper set. Also, I think people bought (and will buy) the 7676 RGS because of the RGS itself, no matter what jedi minifig is included, Plo's minifig is just an added bonus... Personally, I would have preferred another Jedi minifig, but is there any jedi that can boast of a better-looking starfighter? Quote

But Freeco Speeder(or is it bike?), and Wampa attack were "relatively" small. not huge, but not quite battle-pack size. And one more thing the battle-packs MAY cost $12, but for now, they are staying at $11. and don't say the ship is plo's starfighter, it could be Anakin's Azure Angel... (when i said what astromech was in plo's starfighter, it means don't shoot down the chance of a plo koon's starfighter) Quote

Commander Flash Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Smaller would be nice Return of the $7.99 sets? Anakin's SF? That came out last year Quote
Darth Legolas Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Smaller would be nice Return of the $7.99 sets?Anakin's SF? That came out last year Not the Azure Angel. That was a lot older, a lot cooler, but a lot less known and a whole lot less possible. It was almost a cross between a first generation JSF and a TIE fighter, but with blue and white stripes. Looking here, the ARC-170 is definitely new. Still, they barely changed it! If I do get this, it's only because my other one broke. When it does come out, I'd loke to see a comparison! Quote
