lightningtiger Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 It was deigned by Rothana, I believe as a successor of the AT-TE. It didn't make it into full service until the end of the Clone Wars. Possibly the fact that clones may idealize gunnery turrets on top of their vehicles to strenghen their battle plans may be the reason that the AT-AT was not employed earlier. Or the idea that the AT-AT cannot turn around quickly, whilst the AT-TE can use rear-mounted guns or the big-bore cannon to destroy any flanking enemies. And yes, I beat ADHO to the explaining part. The rumour has it that it will be this year, I believe. Good explanation anyway, lightningtiger. The Rebels use a lot of old equipment, and that med-droid is no exception. He is very old, dating back to the Clone Wars. He was seen in the Clone Wars 2008 movie and maybe a couple of the episodes too, but I'm not sure about the TV side of it. AT-AT's first saw action in the battle of Jabiim in about 21BBY-20BBY. Thats according to Wookieepedia. We just have to wait and see next year. Quote
Cloney Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Does 2010's Clone Turbo Tank include a Barriss Offee? It mentions it HERE. Id love it if it she is in the set. Quote

Well Ras said she would be, but the sok told us of some different figs, so I'm not certain. I hope she is, though. Another Jedi fig is always good. Quote
The Crazy One Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I have been reading Wookieepedia and discovered that AT-AT was developed and used during the Clone Wars. Yup, it was, I edited that article. I really hope the CTT has Barris in it, but if not, there will probabley be an equally cool Jedi. Quote
Big Brick Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 (edited) I have been reading Wookieepedia and discovered that AT-AT was developed and used during the Clone Wars. Wasn't there a post somewhere a while back talking about a AT-AT comming next year ?If there is then we could say it might be CW instead of ESB. Why should there be an AT-AT of TCW a the Birthyear of TEsb? I further think it will be a new UCS Version - without motor and minifig-sized. OK, if the Med-Droid will take place in Theta Shuttle, why shouldn't there be a Nebulon-B ship with Luke, MedDroid, Leia and the two droids!? But that are only speculations (Christmas!? Spekulatius!). greetz Big Brick Edited November 26, 2009 by Big Brick Quote
Strand Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Anyway, I was just looking at the front page at the January 2010 sets and I saw the prices. I know I've looked at those pictures and prices on the front page and they were not that high. I mean the Arc-170 for $80.00 USD, that's insane! That's the around 500 pieces for $80, I can't get over that because that's just disgusting. A price surge like that is insane. Is there a reason for the price jump, because I was excited for some of these sets (more specifically the summer 2010 sets, best wave yet as far as I'm concerned, if the rumors are true) and if the Clone turbo tank is going to be 1000 pieces and $200, it's just not worth it. So what's the reason for the high prices? Are they just overpriced estimates or am I missing something? It's not just you. I remember picking up the original ARC-170 at retail price ($75 AUD), and if I were to guess, new one RRP will be around $130 AUD here (if you're going by TLG's Australia pricing guide which seems to be: Double the US price, then take off $10-20 at own discretion, regardless of US/Aussie dollar price parity). HOWEVER, I still think the US price is quite reasonable. Sure there's been a price rise, but it's not just Lego, EVERYTHING'S more expensive these days. Last couple years I was shocked to realise that my (identical) groceries bill almost doubled. I don't blame Lego for adapting, their Aussie pricing is something else though.. OK, if the Med-Droid will take place in Theta Shuttle, why shouldn't there be a Nebulon-B ship with Luke, MedDroid, Leia and the two droids!?But that are only speculations (Christmas!? Spekulatius!). I hope you're referring to just the medical room and a window because a systems Nebulon-B would be nightmare. Lego still has problems adapting capital ships to 'minifig scale' and if a ship like the Venator ended up with such a gimped and ugly interior, imagine how something like the Nebulon-B, with 2 sections, a thin middle would be, additionally how would it stand up? Quote
Darth Legolas Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 The prices are estimates made from amazon.com and other sites.Right now we only have USD prices and the estimates varies. The Freeco is estimated from 24.99 - 34.99 USD (or something like that). I am fairly sure the price will be around 25 USD though, but one can never be sure with the financial situation and all. I don't want to keep talking about prices, but about the ARC, do you think the price will be lower? Quote
danielwerner Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Stop whining about overpricing. The UCS Millennium Falcon for example, it costs 850 dollars in europe. Quote

I don't have a source for this, I just remember hearing it way back in the days of OT. I guess 'canon' could have changed since then, knowing Lucas. Still, even if it is clone wars, I could do with another AT-AT. I 'allow' myself CW if it also appeared in the movies.... Quote
MaxGoof Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 (edited) Thanks, Delta.Well Ras said she would be, but the sok told us of some different figs, so I'm not certain. I hope she is, though. Another Jedi fig is always good. If Ras said it, then I certainly believe it. Given the focus and screentime Bariss has had in Clone Wars this year, it's pretty logical to include her in a set. CommanderFox Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Im hoping for Barris to be in the CTT aswell! Also Aalya and Bly would be Great! Even though it would up the price i'd love that new Med droid to be in Wampa attack-with as ive said before a bacta tank with luke in it. That'd be Great! Not meaning to contine the price rant but i have a feeling the ARC will be in the $90-120 range for Aussie and NZ. Just my thoughts... CommanderFox Quote

CommanderFox Yea Im really hoping for barris to be in the CTT but I just hope I will be able to afford it ! Price rant: I think it will be in that range as well probably $100. But im just worrying the US prices because they will be cheaper when you convert them to $NZ so I will end up just buying them from the starwars.com shop and get a few others things also Quote
DarthSion Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 I would assume the CTT would be CW, in which case the only time in CW we have seen a CTT was with Ashoka, so more then likely her maybe Obi or Anakin and a couple of clones. Quote

DarthSion Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Well she would have to be in one of the CW sets next year, it would be highly unlikely they would give us Barriss, they gave us Gunroy for a new one this year, and there is already some new stuff for next year, I doubt they would do another new mould. On the other hand the old CTT came with Mace and we never saw him with a CTT. Or maybe the CTT won't be CW, maybe it will be a tie in with the live action series and be an A6 Jug' from during 3 and 4. I don't care who is with it, if its not a rip off like RBR then I will get it, hopefully it won't be an exclusive so I can get it during a % off sale. Quote

I would say 'DarthSion' maybe right - CW - with Ashoka and of course Anakin with Captain Rex. Also Lego seem to these days release a set based around just one episode of CW, just like the Freeco Speeder. Quote

Anakin, Ahsoka and Rex wont be in the set. Ras said that Aayla Secura, Barriss Offee will be in the set. It has been rumoured hat commander Bly might be in the set as well. Those minifigs are much better than Anakin, Ahsoka and Rex. I think it probably will be CW. Barriss wasnt in one of the films so I dont expect it to be another EPIII revival set like the arc 170 and tri fighter. Edited November 27, 2009 by Roncanator Quote

As I recall it, both in Ep. II and III. She doesn´t have much screen time, but she is there for sure. Quote

CommanderFox Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 captain Bly You mean Commander Bly. I think the CTT will be CW. Im really interisted in what Lego will produce as a head mould for Aalya! I wonder if they will just copy Arealights version or something practically the same. CommanderFox Quote

Another Jedi fig is always good. No Problem, . Continuing from that, it seems that those wikis are always unreliable as many people edit it, 'specially if there are UNCONFIRMED facts about, particularly, Lego. Oh, and Aayla Secura would be a way better figure, don't know why, just is. Quote
F.Mulder Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Hi all If the CTT was a CW set and Bariss was included wouldn't it make more sense to include Luminara Unduli as she is Bariss master??? and I don't record seeing Aalya secura in CW. Is anybody on the same page as me? Quote

Is anybody on the same page as me? We already have a Luminara Unduli fig (even if it is a rubbish LUL one). Many fans have wanted an Aayla Secura fig for years and so TLG thought it would be a good idea to finally include her. Aayla and Barriss were both situated and killed on Felucia at the end of the Clone Wars, so TLG probably wants to refer to that in this set. Also, a CTT was seen on Felucia at the start of season two, so we may return to that later on. Aayla was a main character in Jedi Crash and Defenders of Peace in season one. She's probably going to be in season 2 as well sometime. Hope this clears some things up for you. Quote
