JCC1004 Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I agree (except the dot eyes part)And that droid on the ARC is not R4-P17. This is R4-P17. Also, is it just me or does Captain Jag have a new torso yet the one known as pilot has the old one? EDIT: Corrected spelling mistake Jag does have a different torso print. He has a belt and he has a different oxygen mask. Quote

So, they probably fixed the spelling of Kit and changed the astro droids name by now. @Jar Jar: Those are new heads, non CW, but not the same as the old Jango... Quote
DutchRebel Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I once made an ARC pilot helmet myself, by merging a rebel pilot helmet with a stormtrooper helmet. Think I was pretty close to what Lego did. sorry for the mediocre photography... DR Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Well, 'DutchRebel' you had a very good go at making this new helmet. Looks real cool, just look out for those buzz droids ! Quote
Future74 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Although I'm horrified about the fact you molested two helmets Dutchrebel, I must say you did a good job. Quote

Actually I only molested the stormtrooper helmet... the rebel helmet was only repainted but intact. Looking forward to the real deal! Quote
ForceMaster Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Hurray, new large official pictures of 8087 - TIE Defender and 8088 - ARC-170 Starfighter!) From Brickset. Quote
Skipper 24 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Thanks for the new pics ForceMaster. The nose on the ARC is just brilliant. Quote
Darth Legolas Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 So now it is completely officially final. The ARC is ROTS. The Defender has nothing new to offer at all, except the minifigures, it seems. Quote
RoryoCox Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Those pictures are really good thanks forcemaster. The TIE PILOT helmet looks amazing and the overall design of the tie defender very appealing. The Arc is just brilliant I love everything about it. These are suddenly two very appealing sets and along with the battlepacks will be brilliant in my collection. I cannot wait until they are available. Does anyone know if they will be before Christmas? Quote
Big Cam Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 The ARC fighter looks the same as the old one, and the only new thing is the figs helmets which were shown on the previous page closeup Quote

I don't know what it is with these new picture but they give me a sense of need. It is not only the minifigures but the overall modification of the originals. If these pictures have been released in this detail them surely Lego may be about to release them for Christmas. If they didn't then they would be losing an awful lot of money. Quote

Lego always get's there stuff in to ToysRus by Christmas. Why they don't have them widespread by now, I have no idea, so they are losing a little money, but you'll be able to get what you want. Just keep an eye out, the everything comes to Shop@home within a week or two of each other over the holidays, so even if Star Wars come out the very last possible day, it still will come out. RoryoCox Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Sorry about that, just got a little excited . Thanks for replying. I will keep a look out. Quote
SWMAN Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I really love the new Tie-Fighter Helmet. It is more in line with the Stormtrooper helmets. Quote
ben506 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 One thing the ARC picture does confirm is that the heads are reversible, as both pilots have the orange visor. Figured they would be, but it's nice to have it confirmed. I think I'm sold on the new helmet as well. Or at least as a TIE pilot helmet; not too sure about the AT-AT pilot head yet, still looks too big. Still not sure about the new sets. They look amazing, and I'll definitely have to be getting them, but they'll come out in January. This means while hope it gets to January quicker for the sets, I have third year final exams then as well, so want January to be further away. Too much conflict! Quote
Big Cam Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I really love the new Tie-Fighter Helmet. It is more in line with the Stormtrooper helmets. Whatg?? The old pilot helmets were actual stormtrooper helmets in black with different printinf. These look like they have a raised ridge o the top of the helmet. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 The ARC does look very good indeed, but I won't be getting it as I don't collect ROTS - only NH, ESB, ROTJ and CN-CW I collect. The tie defender, Hmmm, I might consider it. A friend of mine loves it to pieces and can not wait to get one. I do prefer this one over the tie interceptor though, looks cool, but I must ask where does the stormtrooper sit ? Quote

Thanks for those new pics forcemaster People you are forgetting that something new about this ARC is that the cockpits are Printed! Can't wait to use them in MOCs! Also is that piece on the front-nose a new piece? CommanderFox Edited December 3, 2009 by CommanderFox Quote
Bobskink Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 I predict an R2D2 with a shiny head in the near future. Quote
brickme Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 Really what makes you think so? (note: not to be rude but asking why) Quote
CommanderFox Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) I predict an R2D2 with a shiny head in the near future. That would be a nice addition to next years sets! But since we already got a new one this year I think it is highly unlikely to get a new one next year. BTW do any of you think the cockpits in the ARC will be These new pieces? CommanderFox They look to be, just printed and smoke grey. Strange looking mould on its own like that, but I guess it's replacing the current very similar one. And I can't really tell if the nose bits are new pieces. They look like they might be, the way the light is reflecting off them, but I don't recall seeing any rounded 1x3 slopes in any other places mentioning new bits. Quote
