CommanderFox Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 (edited) Never ever use "quick edit" I always use it. Hey KimT, you haven't updated the first post with Luke's Landspeeder pic. ADHO15 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Hey KimT, you haven't updated the first post with Luke's Landspeeder pic. Are you waiting for clearer pics of it? I think it's watermarked confidential, so he's not allowed. That's why Stash removed it from a post above somewhere. Quote
The Who Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Trust me I'm sith you....You're what? Spotted on brickshelf - 8087 TIE Defender ! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=411893 Thanks!Apparently the TIE Pilot has a black head, according to the Brickshelf pictures. I think I'll buy it just for that fig. So much better than the other TIE Pilots. Quote
yellost Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Hope this helps. Thanks a lot for the link. That ship sure looks good. It's just a shame about that empty cockpit. And I'm not sure that the official ship was capable of spinning its wings 360° either. I don't remember it doing it in the game... But then again, those are easy mods so it's a definite buy for me... The only one so far, sadly. The ARC is way too expensive for the few modifications compared to the previous one, so I'll just mod mine. Can't wait to see pics of the CTT and Palpatine's shuttle... The older TIE pilots where okay, but this one by far is the best! CommanderFox Quote

JimBee Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I'm going to disagree. Lego doesn't just put a dollar sign in front of it and call it a day. They aren't that unfair. I think we could add $% to every one of those prices.Anyway, it seems the first wave is coming out finally. I'm surprised that now 5 people have the TIE defender and nothing else is available. Maybe it's supposed to be out longer so it will sell more before January. You're right, but I did change the battle pack prices. In fact, I actually think the Tri-Droid, Landspeeder, and Freeco will be about 15 USD each. Sorry about that. But the TIE Defender really is 50 USD, or at least, that's what's been confirmed up until now. Quote
sok117 Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Is there any news on a Cad Bane minifigure, we were talking about it a while back. Kim t, would you like to shed some light on this mystery? Quote
ILikePi Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 The TIE Defender box art looks good! I like the asymmetrical inset pictures of the other sets and the back is as good as ever. Klaus-Dieter Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Thank you very much for this price information, legomilk! 27 Euros for the Landspeeder is really a lot of money (e. g. when you compare to what you get in the Echo Base set). 15 Euros for every BP is not cheap - but on the other hand they are really amazing and include even some new minifigs! Klaus-Dieter Quote
Penitent Tangent Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Looking at those prices, and comparing the current sets in € and £, that makes them about:8083 Rebel Trooper Battle Pack £9.99 8084 Snowtrooper Battle Pack £9.99 8085 Freeco Speeder £21.49 8086 Droid Tri-Fighter £21.49 8087 TIE Defender £39.15 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter £48.95 8092 Luke's Landspeeder £21.49 Though with a VAT increase at the end of the year (15% back to 17.5%), and Lego's usual skill with pricing, they'll probably be higher than these. Sorry if this counts as spamming, but just trying to save the British a few minutes work. Edit: Added Luke's Landspeeder. And got angry at the quick edits inability to cope with anything beyond plain text. On the topic of UK prices, DVD.co.uk actually already has a couple of the sets for order (out January 25th) The Tri-fighter is £25, the Defender is £40 and the ARC is £50. So you were mostly right there. Quote

Klaus-Dieter I agree, I can't see the landspeeder costing that much, for such a small piece count. And I wont quote it since it was from about 12 hours ago, but that new tie pilot helmet is 100% better than the previous version. Quote
Future74 Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Thanks, Seijitai and Lumix for the TIE Defender pictures I love the new helmet for the TIE pilot Now we need them in quantity, for instance in some battlepacks The TIE Defender's design is really accurate, very well done TLC. But I still think it's pricy for what you get. Minor issue: the cockpit shouldnt be able to move like the one on the B-wing. Quote

Minor issue: the cockpit shouldnt be able to move like the one on the B-wing. Well I really hope the pilot's helmet in the BP will be just as good. Yes the cockpit is alittle annoying, it doesn't really matter though as I probably won't be getting this set. CommanderFox Quote
pedro Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Thanks for the links, pics, etc. Does look like a really cool take on the 'Defender and I love the new TIE pilot. It's nice to see that LEGO are really going to town with all the new Star Wars figures we've seen recently! I'm not sure if this new TIE's on my priority list though... and I really need to get around to building my other recently aquired sets first! Quote

I don't think there's actually a rumor of a Bane figure, it's just an assumption that some summer set will have him now that he's a kid's show's main character. Quote

I don't think there's actually a rumor of a Bane figure, it's just an assumption that some summer set will have him now that he's a kid's show's main character. A kid's show? I saw Anakin choking Poggle, and scary worms that make you go crazy Quote
Darth Legolas Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 A kid's show? I saw Anakin choking Poggle, and scary worms that make you go crazy "If you find a worm in space, do not put it up your nose." That's an ad for an adult show? But the point is, nobody actually said anything about Bane becoming a figure. I remember someone saying "wouldn't it be great if he did?" And someone else saying "He'd go great with Greivous's fighter!" but nobody saying "Bane will be in greivous's fighter!" So, it's a possibility seeing as they have to put him somewhere eventually, but there isn't going to be any news on it for a while. At least not until January. Quote
Big Cam Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Although the CLone Wars is aimed towards Kid's, it is very violent. Bane is no exception, but I do think TLG needs to make him. He's such a sweet bounty hunter, and plays a pretty big role so far. I mean they made the pirates into fig's, and I think Bane has a much bigger role than the pirates did. Quote
The Legonater Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I still haven't seen a decent pic of the landspeeder, they're all blury... I don't see why evryone's down on it though. It comes with a black pauldron for goodness sake, we haven't seen one of those yet. (Unless one of you painted you gold ones...) And from one pic I'ves een it comes with one of the little droids seen in ep. 4 on tatooine. If you have nioo idea what I'm talking about, in LSW 2 and 3 they're the droids you see right before you enter the cantina in the mos eisly level. Anywho.... I'm glad they've finallly done the rebel troops right. They old one's helmets were terribly copied from the movie, and finally LEGO's done a good job. Good job LEGO. Zev is a nice treat too. I'd still want Tycho though... As far as the ARC goes, I want it madly. I never got the chance to get it in 2005, and I won't make that mistake again. Enspiecally with the new proper helmets, this one's an obvious choise. The Tie Defender is also good. I've noticed that LEGO odesn't do EU stuff often, and when it does it's a treat. Strange though, whenever a EU set comes out, it has something to do with the Empire ... (All TIEs and the Rouge Shadow) But still, who can pass up a percfected helmet. 2010 seems to have a lot of good helmet redos... And the Tri-Fighter, I already ahve the first. If I get this, it's for the rocket droids. Good job LEGO Quote
RocketClone Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I kind of find it funny that they have yellow spots for the droids now! Quote
