Morten Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 I have worked several hours on this helicopter, the legendary Chinook CH-47. I has 2 pilots, to side gunners, one rear gunner. There is room for either 14 seats for soldiers, 1 vehicle and 8 soldiers or 2 vehicles. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=175809 I had som problems whit the nose, if anyone has any good ideas to make it bether I am open for help. xwingyoda Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Morten, your gallery is not yet moderated, would you have some deep link pics for us while we wait ;-) ? *yoda* Quote
Morten Posted March 29, 2006 Author Posted March 29, 2006 Upps: Nice of you to tell me Xwingyoda, her is a few pics: Hopefully me Gallery will work during the next hours. Morten Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Very nice! Only comment I can think of is that lightdray doesn't really do it justice...I'd suggest darkgray. What scale is this built in? Quote
Morten Posted March 29, 2006 Author Posted March 29, 2006 It is bouild in accurate minifig scale, assuming one minifig is a 180 cm tall man! That means the scale is 1/45. I would have liked to build it in dark gray, but then I had the problem with the round windows, which I could only get in light gray or red from the Santa Fe. Is 1/45 the same scale as you guys use when building stuff for minifigs? Thanks for the comments Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 I don't agree with you guys on the colours scheme: it looks fantastic in light grey 8- Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 I never build in scale either. I just think of something and build it. But I do make sure a MF fits inside ;-) Quote
KimT Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 I love it *wub* [guess I have to say that! :-P ] Reminds me of the good ol' days in Bosnia. Can't wait to see more pics of the jeep stuffed in the back - (read closeup pics) KimT Quote
Christian Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Excellent Moc!!!! *y* I have actually been trying to build a such helicopter a few times myself, but the results were never good :-( Maybe you could make it in MLCad and then post the instructions of how to build it? Quote
Zarkan Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Great MOC! The shape and design almost is exactly like the real thing, very hard to achieve in lego! I give it a double thumbs up. *y* *y* Nice work! Now, how about an Apache? ;-) On a minor note, I noticed you also had some non lego photos in there (The photos of the real thing). If I can remember, the rules on brickshef said only lego photos are allowed. Still, since they're there for the sole purpose of comparing the model to the real thing, it's probably alright. Just though I'd point that out. Quote
Morten Posted April 1, 2006 Author Posted April 1, 2006 Yes i thought about the non-LEGO pictures, and then chekced out some of the train pictures on bricklink, where they some times use nonLEGO pictures as reference http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=13218. I Thought it was ok. I think my next MOC will not be an apache (maybe later), but I would like to do an Omaha Beach Scene, after beeing in Normandy last summer on vacation. And Emperors arrival on the Death Star is also o good MOC that i Would like to do, so if I can just "Borrow" all your stormtroopers, scout-troopers ect. I will make that. Morten Sonne Quote
Zarkan Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Like I said, there probably nothing to worry about. ;-) And, wow! I can't wait for your new MOC's! Normandy sounds like it will look great! Oh, and I was kind of semi-joking about the apache. ;-) Quote
Peoples_General Posted April 6, 2006 Posted April 6, 2006 Awesome looking helicopter! I agree with some others that it'll look better in dark gray, or if you can collect enough parts... in dark green. Quote
hazrdone Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I have worked several hours on this helicopter, the legendary Chinook CH-47. I has 2 pilots, to side gunners, one rear gunner. Morten look exactly like the ones at work.. good build Quote
GabryS Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 When I build minifig scale stuff I made it in 1:40 scale and then add some 1x1 plates to their legs, to make them higher. I like your build, the only thing that I could suggets is covering the studs with some tiles to make it a bit more modle-ish. Cheers :D Quote
