A lot of the Playmobil City designs look like the LEGO designs - or vice versa...

Problem is: Playmobil was on the market first. And you know what ppl tend to think when shortly after something's in the shelves someone else comes out with similar looking stuff...

I think its normal that those two well established toy companies look at each other's products and "copies" each other ;-)

Its really normal that they have similar themes such as cities, vikings...

Playmo is doing a lot better than TLC one one aspect: they keep their great sets for very, very long !! They had Pirates when I was a kid and still do (like city and castles).

Nowadays the lifespam of a Lego line is ridicously short !!

I think this can have a positive aspect for TLC in the long run. Humm can we expect a pirate revival and Roman theme then ;-) ??

Sure, they look a lot alike. But, I think, Lego one has one major advantage: You can redesign, and rebuild it.

I actually plan on mocing the Airport 7894 in to something that will resemble more the "classic" airports (6392, 6396 and 6597). And after that, I think I will still have enough parts for something that will be a lot like the Breezeway Caf

One of the main reasons to me is that Playmo offers loads to future mothers ;-)

Effectively, girls view Playmo as mini dolls with loads and loads of fun accessories. You do have many Female and kids (both genders) MFs + lots and lots of food, beach and house goodies !!

I think that is what Lego is trying to achieve with Jon's favourite theme aka Belville. I think its a good start, but far from being sufficient !!

Playmobil offers kids for the female figs, plus accessories dedicated to girls like neckeless and other molded pieces. I think it only serves what most o us think here : lego doesn't appeal to girls because they don't want to.
