The cartoonists must be some what recent LEGO builders too since they used a cheese slopes.

Definitely a legit design, as evidenced by this picture (made by this guy):

Sweet. The only allowances they'd made were to Leela's ponytail and shoulder straps. This actually looks like a cool new figure motif that could catch on.

I watched the two episodes today, and, though they weren't classic, they were good, and better than the movies. I hope they manage a classic episode this season though. I will watch regardless.

Has anyone here watched the series with the DVD commentary? I love them. One episode, Billy West sits in and sings the 'theme song for Futurama', which is basically him singing "Fuuu-che-ra-ma, fuuu-che-ra-ma" to the bell sound of the theme. Years later, it's all I hear when I hear the theme song.

Sounds great, can't wait till they air in the U.k! Does anyone know when that is?

The one were they 'rap' is also great! Zoiberg - Zoiberg - Z - Z - Z - Zoiberg - *Zoiberg noise* - (Farnsworth) Oh my!

Watched the two new eps recently and I have to say I'm impressed! It seems they are allowed to get away with more dirty jokes on Comedy Central, though unfortunately it seems the ones they went with weren't very inspired. I mean, V-GINY? Really? You're going with that?

Oh well, apart from that it seems like normal Futurama to me, and while it the episodes weren't exactly classic, they still got quite a few belly laughs from me and are an enormous step up from the movies. I'd say we've got very little to worry about.

Batbrick Away!

I still loved the last joke on the 1st episode:"We'll be back!"

Fry(I think, well then again it doesn't make sense since he would understand... sorta): "Why did their voices change?"

I think a "lol" is needed.

Cheers.

By- a guy who isn't alowed to drink coffe unless it's decaf... and I'm almost an adult... and the as tall as my brother was when he was a year older than how old I currently am... not that that has anything to do with anything...

Futurama is back tonight with an episode worthy of the greatest of the original series! Words cannot describe how glad I am that they kept Leela and Fry an official couple, otherwise I would've unleashed a vortex of polite criticisms in haiku form.

My favourite jokes were that Hitler and Eleanor Roosevelt one, the "mountain of skulls!" and "That was the old Fry, he's dead now!"

It was a great episode. It was hilarious seeing what Earth was like each time they went forward. It was good to see Cubert back in it and the episode has to be one of the best so far. :classic:

Really great season so far.

Yes, it was a great episode. A bit cheesy and predictable, but good nonetheless. Overall, this season is pretty good. Much better than the movies at least. I didn't like the DaVinci episode so much though.

The concept of DaVinci being from a society where he was actually the stupid one was good, but the execution wasn't all that well. The first half of the episode is comprised of the gang going from one place to another saying "My God! It's [insert about historical discovery here], and the second half doesn't even make much sense. And the only good jokes were the "brainer" and the moment Fry got run over.

Maybe there was a major joke I didn't get? Oh well. My favorite so far is the eye-phone episode. That was hilarious!

Keep it up, Futurama team!

@ Batbrick: Just out of curiosity, why did you like the "mountain of skulls" so much?

You forgot about this gem: "Duh, I'm Leonardo! I don't know the mass of Higgs Boson!

Just because Bender's reaction to it was so typically Bender. And of course because the achievement of total planetary genocide, the end of all things, absolute annihilation of humanity and all other species has always been one of my stated goals in life, along with getting a cool trenchcoat and fedora.

Without any spoilers, yes, Batbrick is right, episode 7 is the best of the new season... and it may enter the pantheon of the greatest episodes.

The mountain of skulls was good. Plus the part about applying "oil without our hands". And the matter of catching up with the past. Just smart, funny fun. I liked it. And I started watching the old DVDs this week, to remind me that this show is good, and not just nostalgia.

You also gotta love Hitler's line, "Betrachten Sie meinen Schnurbart!" which means "Behold my mustache!"

I loved the last two episodes as well! I'm a cat lover, so I'm biased on Ep. 8, but it was a good episode overall. However, "A Clockwork Origin" simply takes the cake. Such a brilliantly hilarious episode centered around an ongoing controversy! It just had so many great jokes, and is definitely one of my favorites of this season!

The next episode looks promising as well! :sweet: I can't wait, even though it will get us one step closer to the end of (this half of) this season. :cry_sad: Oh well.
