echobanzai Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 hey first time poster, but i have been reading your forums for the past year or so for lego news! anyways, i was in the lego store in PARAMUS, NJ and i found two red ninja torsos in the build a minifig buckets. i immediately threw on some red lego legs, and some red construction helmets cause i needed extras of those, added a construction worker, and bought the 3 pack. there were no red ninja scarves, just the torsos. it would be awesome if they put in full on ninja's in there. i would for sure buy at least another 6, if they had the scarves. i had some extra red lego scarves at my house, so all i really needed was the torso. has anyone else found these? or maybe some employee decided to swap out his ninjas for some torsos in the buckets? who knows.
Commodore Hornbricker Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 My guess is they somehow came from a Vintage Minifigure Collection Volume 2 set(s) to be in that bin. Maybe they had some damaged, returned sets and threw the parts into the minifigure bin.
Brickdoctor Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Lucky. But we've also seen the Yellow Slave Leias and Yellow Ep. VI Lukes, so it's nothing new as far as older 'figs are concerned.
Big Cam Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I think congratulations are in order since this doesn't happen that often.

-JD- Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Good find! You can determine whether these torsos are genuine LEGO (not cheap poor quality Chinese plastic) by seeing whether they have the black marking on the neck section, which is what I recommend doing! Reference Picture
WhiteFang Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 This does not belongs here. Topic moved to BSTF. WhiteFang
Artoo Detour Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) I can shed some light on the appearance of the ninja torsos; I'm on staff at the Lego Store in Annapolis, MD. All of the minifig parts available in the Build-A-Mini bar are ordered by a staff member. There's a certain catalog of pieces we are able to order from (much like Pick-A-Brick) and those red ninja torsos just became available in the last week or so. We've got a whole lot of them in our store, so it's very likely that you can get more from the one in NJ. To my knowledge, the hoods aren't available right now; we'd definitely have ordered some if we could. Edited June 24, 2010 by Artoo Detour

Bring on the speculations about a new ninja theme (still my best guess is that they are surplus production from the vintage minifig collection)
Dan the Brickman Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 My guess is they somehow came from a Vintage Minifigure Collection Volume 2 set(s) to be in that bin. Ahhhh! Thats the one Im missing....
JCC1004 Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 My Cincinnati store never has anything good. Just generic town and pirates. Lucky find I guess. I was looking forward to mine when I heard it was coming. Honestly I can't believe they charge 10 dollars for those parts! If only they knew of Bricklink.
echobanzai Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 i went back yesterday to get some more minifigs, and they had a lot more red ninja torsos. so if anyone is in paramus, head on over. im heading over there now to snag some of the dragon battle packs!
