Posted June 24, 201014 yr This is a very small 8x8 trial truck. In order to make it this small I ditched normal steering and used skid steering instead. It has independent suspension ona all wheels. I used rubber 1x2 beams for springa ction, which works great, but the mass must be low. Drivelink uses 1:6 gearing from 2M motors: Rear can be loaded with anything up to 200 grams Suspension travel: Download LDD instructions HERE Video:
June 24, 201014 yr Very very nice, I really like this one, it's kind cute. And the ending of the video is cool too !!
June 24, 201014 yr @ Zblj: My son and I are going to build your MOC by using the LDD "Building Guide Mode" and the Parts List from LDD Manager . We enjoy seeing your Technic LDD files. Does the small battery box carry a single 9V battery, like the ones used for smoke detectors? If so, how long can the 8x8 run on such a small battery?
June 25, 201014 yr Author Well i used a duracell 9V block. I used the same battery box in the twister and it still runs good. So I think it should suffice for some 4-8 hours of fun. Remember to use PF extension cable and 2 pieces of ALU foil to make it work on this battery box. Edited August 10, 201014 yr by Zblj
June 25, 201014 yr Remember to use PF extension cable and 2 pieces of ALU foil to make it work on this battery box. Yes, I will follow your advice about the Aluminum Foil in accordance with your previous EB Post:
July 5, 201014 yr I apologize for my language, I am a foreigner. I would like to build a similar vehicle, but have two different engines - PF XL and PF Med. Use subtractor? by Sariel Do you have any ideas? Edited July 5, 201014 yr by Ayumi
July 5, 201014 yr Author I think that the subtractor will just make the truck bigger, more complex and in the end it may be less powerfull because of all the gears. I would stick with 2 M motors...
July 6, 201014 yr Cool little truck! I like to see your creations, thy always provide some innovative solution.
July 6, 201014 yr Zblj, my truck will be bigger and heavier. Apply the spring because my frame is made of bricks. Otherwise it was impossible to build a subtractor. Soon I purchase PF Medium and build something lighter and easier. Build another Tatra, with harder suspension and orginal battery box. Great Idea, but my collection is small.
July 20, 201014 yr Author Just a little fix for those who built truck and have troubles with suspension: New assembly left, old one right.
