Captain Bayonet Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Classic Space all the way ! It was the only theme I liked as a kid and I had all the smaller ships and Minifig packs. I also had the Galaxy Commander, my absolute favorite Space Ship of ALL time! Quote
bort138 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 My all-time favorite theme is Aquazone. I don't understand why Aquazone is in Action themes. To me it seems falls into sci-fi. Anyways, my favorite space theme would be Ice Planet 2002. Deep freeze defender has to be the best space ship LEGO ever produced. Quote
Randal Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Is this a duplicate topic? I don't see my post in here and I'm sure I answered this question. (Which was "my favorite Sci-fi theme isn't officially a theme... I like the steampunk stuff. (I wish it was official) for my favorite official theme, I'd have to say the current Space Police III stuff and the Atlantis stuff. The ships look snazzy, Red and green subs are unusual and look good, the whole Lego space gangster thing is fun to build and looks cool." I love the space sets that originally came out and then all the way up until the early 90s... the stuff from the later 90s until the more recent non-licensed sci-fi themes were not my cup of tea. I didn't like the direction the ingenuity and aesthetics were taking in the space sets of the time. I liked the Aquazone stuff though. I like building the newer sets. some of the "action/sci-fi" stuff from the period where I didn't like the space sets were fun too, like the agents and underwater sets. Another fun series to build now, though not quite Sci-fi is the world racer series. It makes me think of a less cartoony version of the HB Wacky Racers cartoon back in the 70's. Quote
Raphy Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Well, in my opinion, Neo Classic Space, Blacktron I and II and Space Police III are tied. ;P Quote
Hoboman Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 I would have to say, for me, SPIII, Star Wars, and Power Miners all because they brought me back into logo-world as well as brought my son in for the first time. Sappy, I know, but that is how it is. Quote
Adam the Ant Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Star Wars - Lego always put in an amazing amount of work when designing these models, maybe they get a little push from Lucasarts to make good designs, but some of my favourite models have been from this series. The only problem I have with this series is that they cost more because of the brand. Exo-Force - Being a huge fan of mecha I loved this series. There were some great designs and an easy way to get strong joints for your own mecha designs. While the front of the robots were almost always great, Lego didn't seem to know what to do with the back and decided to leave them blank. Quote
Nick Wolfe Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Space Police 3. There's just so much possibility. Factions of the criminal underworld. Corruption in the ranks of law enforcement. My imagination has been going wild sorting through so much incredible story bits that i wish i could put together into a stop motion series of some kind. So cool. Yeah, Space Police 3. Quote
brickmack Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Hmmm. I really can't decide. They all have great sets and stories and stuff. Exo-force had the cool mech designs, and I liked the design of the minifigs alot. The classic space sets were just generally cool I thought, and all of the space police sets had cool things with good parts and arresting criminals, and SP3 has the stop motion things online. Mars Mission had really cool colors, but I think the aliens could have been a bit better. Quote
