Stickers...

Okay, so I bought 4 of the new tiny turbos over the weekend:

8666-1 TunerX

8661-1 Carbon Star

8664-1 Road Hero

8663-1 Fat Trax

On the boxes, they all looked pretty neat; in reality, it's 90% stickers. The only one that really looked good without stickers was the Road Hero; a semi-tractor trailer. I like it so much I'm thinking of building a fleet of them, along with trailers to attach to the backs.

But anyway, that's not the point. I have a strict policy of not applying stickers on anything, unless it's a rare case where it's absolutely needed (viking shields, for example), and especially not over multiple pieces.

Now, here's the really disappointing thing about these sets:

Set 8666 comes with a sticker that you're supposed to put over 8 small black slopes. BUT! Set 8666 is supposed to be able to be combined with set 8661, so I looked at the instructions, and here's the kicker:

If you applied the stickers on set 8666, you CANNOT build the combined set, because the pieces are split up.

Now this is just sloppy and disappointing. What in the heck were they thinking?!

That's odd *wacko* .I would contact lego about this.Or not apply the stickers.I still have no clue why lego made it that way.

I really like the design of the new Tiny Turbos (I do not use stickers either)

but while they look nice, I am feeling that lego has been cutting costs with them a bit; the parts are a lot simpler compared to last year.

TunerX is definetly the worst case of sticker abuse, and it looks terribly plain without stickers. I dont mind that much though, since that is the one car I bought just for the pieces.

The other 3 look good enough without stickers, though their parts count is rather small....

I just bought the new Highway Haulers 4891 creator set, and I am very pleased with it. It makes vehicles in approximatly the same scale (maybe a few larger ones) as Tiny Turbos, but of course uses all bricks for details. Manage and modify the designs carefully, and you can make 2 or 3 cars from the pieces at the same time. at 10$USD compared with the 4$USD price of a single Tiny Turbo It's well worth it.

I saw it in the Lego mag.I suggest cuuting it(The sticker.)in half correctly if you want to make the combiner.That's your simple answer :-) .
