well i've hit a wall in the building process, the lambdas cockpit works looks ok but looks wrong, to use the proper design i have found will leave no room to place a minifig behind the windscreen, plus i cannot figure a decent way to build it.

Aw man. I'm sure you'll figure something out though. :classic:

Wow! This is awesome!

It looks even better than the UCS Shuttle, all this greebling is great!

Concerning the cockpit: I think the latest cockpit looks fine, but I find it great that you want every detail to be correct

I realize this would clash with your SNOT approach, but a MOCpages model I came across a few years back offers a possible alternative:

It has space for two minifigures in the cockpit, maybe more:

Personally I'm not a fan of the SNOT cockpit since you can't maintain the angled shape of the head all the way while including the canopy.

If you are in fact thinking of starting another project, perhaps you could also consider the Sun Crusher from the Jedi Academy Trilogy (along with the aforementioned Radiant VII - would love to see one of those in UCS).

Well the end is nigh!

To do

1. finish the join between the front and rear

2. finish the landing gear

3. design and build a sturdy display stand

4. numerous little colour changes to blend it all together

What i have changed since last picture

1. the cockpit is now a modified version of the 10212

2. the boading ramp has been changed to grey

3. the front side greeblies are now light bluey instead of dark bluey

4. cockpit interior almost done

5. it is now balanced on the two landing claws.

Pictures to follow later today.

:sweet: It looks great! Can't wait to see the final thing! By the way, I forgot to ask, the landing gear is retractable right?

nope but it's removable  i opted for the none retractable gear since it's very flimsy and this thing weighs quite a bit.

Nice work peter, I think the two legs don't look right, I know the micro machine version had two legs on the back section (cant remember the front as it was my friends) but its only a toy.

Theres only two legs on the movie version, there's 3 on a toy version i have seen, but without the hidef version of the film theres no correct answer. If i added another leg at the front it wouldn't make any difference to the way it sits and would be no more stable than it already is, the other option would be to have 4 landing legs.

Doesn't the official TLG one have four legs? Not that it's a reliable source, but...

It did. Kind of. If you want to count those as legs.

Sorry, I wasn't at any place where I could access good source material when I posted.

I was rewording the post and accidentally hit submit post, so I clicked the stop loading button on my browser and retyped it, but I guess my Internet is faster than I thought.
