hawkyboy4 Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Earlier today I happened upon the two Atlantis impulse sets and couldn't resist buying them. On the way home (I wasn't driving) I decided to build 8072, but that meant a chance of spilling the parts and losing them. That was when I had an idea: Why not make the set in its packet? So I did, it only took about 10 minutes, and surprisingly not that hard. Unfortunately, I am unable to post the images of it here, so I'll post the Flickrv instead. Comments and criticism welcomed, and if you have already heard of this practice, then please tell me. Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/50725769@N06/sets/72157624498975336/ Quote

hawkyboy4 Posted July 15, 2010 Author Posted July 15, 2010 thanks, oh well. Now if everyone will excuse me, I'm going to go cry in the corner Quote
Siegfried Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Now if everyone will excuse me, I'm going to go cry in the corner No you should be happy; you've came to this by your own thought processes. You're a born leader! Quote

GI blockage Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 Good idea. And you can resell the set as new-in-sealed-bag! I wonder what is the biggest model that can be built like this? You could build the tram from 8404 Public Transport... Quote
hawkyboy4 Posted July 15, 2010 Author Posted July 15, 2010 (edited) Good idea. And you can resell the set as new-in-sealed-bag! I wonder what is the biggest model that can be built like this? You could build the tram from 8404 Public Transport... Great minds do think alike! After finishing the set, I wondered if i could make the tram, and cut tiny holes so it's still bagged, but the holes are areas where the connectors, well, connect. The Eye Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 I could never do this. This is actually talent- but I'd still not waste my time with the bags. I'd rip em off and get building! Still, quite a cool talent there hawkyboy4. Quote
Algernon Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I never would have thought of this. It's like a more plasticy version of building a ship in a bottle. Very clever. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Sorry if I'm sounding like I've lived in a rock, but this is the first time I've heard of this interesting building idea. Makes me wanna try it right now. BTW, nice idea hawkboy4, and very cleverly executed. Quote
