March 20, 201212 yr Author Glider My very first attempt to build something that can fly. I think the indoor performance looked a bit more promising, but in the end, it does not fly bad at all.
March 20, 201212 yr Wow, its amazing and it flies better than most paper planes, except mines of course .
March 20, 201212 yr And people say that legos cant fly. It looks absolutely beautiful flying. Nice job   . tim

April 7, 201212 yr A great alternative, and thank you again for your review and alternative model for HispaBrick Magazine!
May 9, 201212 yr Author Sorry for the delay. Here are the instructions for the mobile crane I built using parts of 8052. Before anybody else starts with this. No, you cannot fully retract the LA because it is blocked by the battery box. http://oron.com/wdtvv3ebpnff http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=495123
May 9, 201212 yr I want to buy another 8052 set, to make this Mobile Crane alternate -- your "4th alternate model of 8052. The mobile crane features steering, stabilizers, rotating superstructure, raising 3 section boom with winch and opening doors." Edited May 9, 201212 yr by DLuders
May 9, 201212 yr I converted Grohl's 189-step photo-sequence Building Instructions (for his 8052 Mobile Crane alternate) into a single, 26.2-MB PDF file that can be downloaded here via SkyDrive. All the pages are numbered for ease of printing. Grohl's photographs are very clear; he sure thinks of a lot of GREAT alternates for Lego Technic sets! Edited May 9, 201212 yr by DLuders
May 10, 201212 yr Author Thank you again, David. I am working on a 8081 alternate and it is going to be some sort of a dropship.
May 10, 201212 yr Time has come for my long time announced 9394 alternate. RESCUE HELICOPTER Length 50cm Rotor diameter 44cm Features Both spinning rotors Tilting main rotor Retractable landing gear Instructions A bit late, but I really love your chopper! Very well done! Could be a set of it's own.
May 19, 201212 yr @ grohl: Nice to see your SPOT-55 in action! By the way, I like the soundtrack on your YouTube video above -- Jimi Hendrix's [Let Me Stand Next To Your] "Fire"! Edited May 19, 201212 yr by DLuders
July 7, 201212 yr Author Dropship an 8081 alternate with fold-up wings, opening cockpit, cargo bay doors, retractable landing gear and moving heavy cannons. Original model Dropship
July 7, 201212 yr Nice alternate model! It looks "wicked" with the multiple weapons on it! Were you inspired by the "Halo" game? Edited July 7, 201212 yr by DLuders
July 9, 201212 yr Author In this case I started with the folding mechanism of the wings and built the rest of the ship around it using my fantasy. The problem is that all the dropships look pretty much the same.
July 14, 201212 yr I build your 9394 c-model, the helicopter, today. It is a really good alternate and fun to build. Looks great as well. The only downside i came across is that the instructions miss some small steps. For me no problem, but i was building with my brother, (no experience in building technic lego) so i had to help a few times. Anyway, please keep doing these nice alternates. You're quite good at it!
October 18, 201212 yr Author Instructions for the DROPSHIP in 224 steps available after clicking the picture.
October 18, 201212 yr Thank you for the instructions The model reminds me of the Lego Technic helicopter from this year. BTW; I made a simple pdf of the instructions, you can download it here from my dropbox
