Thank you very much Jim.

The model I spent several months redesigning until its final form did not catch much attention.

How about something that I put together in less than a minute?

What a fabulous model! Great function and form! :D

Jokes aside: The BMW B/C-model is really great and completely went under my radar. This really is a nice addition to the B-Model of the 42063 :-)

I think it just has to do with how many models you put out with such high quality. Aside from your model and more generally speaking, I can't tell why some MOCs here in this forum just don't catch on and some others (in my opinion not so well designed ones) got many comments.

I can see why they hired you

Quickly darting my eyes back and forth between your model and the real one, in terms of the look the cab only needs to be a stud taller perhaps, but you've definitely captured the "feel" of the real dumper, despite not having roughly triangular panels available from the main model to build the angled bucket. I guess if this was an official B model they would let you add a couple extra bricks for it, or make those pieces available in the main model, which I guess makes these alternate model challenges that bit more difficult.

Don't think that would be possible, given that the 912 is from a different manufacturer. Given some of the unavoidable differences, though, TLG could probably have left it unbranded like the 42102 B.

The Sea Turtle is my 27th alternate build of the LEGO Technic 42117 Race Plane. It was created already in January 2022 during filming LEGO Masters. The idea for the model came from one of the guest judges Přemek Forejt. The model features synchronised movement of the front legs and the head. The hind legs and tail are poseable as well.

Thanks for an official review of this car! Good to get some info about its design from yourself, explaining some choices and limitations.

I'd be curious about the desing of the new CV joint part. Can you share a few words about that? In particular, what was the reason of creating a single 5L part instead of a 3L male one with an axle end that would slide into the existing male part with an axle hole? Some of us were hoping for such a part, as that would have allowed it to be used in various circumstances, creating various lengths including fracrional ones by means of the two pieces sliding. Have you considered such a solution? If yes, did you find any serious drawbacks of it that lead to this single-piece solution? Sometimes understanding such choices can just make fans appreciate the end result more :) Thanks!

I really like the comparison you make with the MOC in the end: It shows that us moccers have way more room for error and not be critizided as much as the official TLG designers.

Yes please!

FREEDOM GUNDAM
is an alternate model of the LEGO Technic 42145 Airbus H175 Helicopter and uses only the parts included in the set. It is based on the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam with slightly changed colour combo due to the donor set.

The robot measures:
47 cm in height
61 cm in wingspan

The model features 4 motorized functions operated by a gearbox:
Wing movement
Torso rotation
Arm movement
Head rotation

Other features include:
Poseable shoulders, elbows and thumbs
Poseable hip, shoulder and knee guards

Accessories include:
Beam Rifle
Shield
Sword

The battery box is attached to a brace that helps to stabilize the figure but it stands perfectly on an even surface.

The neon eyes are great :D

Would be surely a podium if not winner for a "B-model" contest, great job, Milan!

That's a brilliant idea for a helicopter alternate, great part usage, and nice execution of functions!

BTW @grohl, any comments on the new CV joint part in the Ford GT I asked about above? Would appreciate some insights if possible!

Thank you gentlemen! I really appreciate it.

@gyenesvi this question is more for our part designers but in general it makes the build a lot easier

Wow, that is one helluva B-Model! So many functions and interesting linkages, that's what Technic is supposed to be about. Incredible work, Milan.

This would have been featured on the front page of Eurobricks but I think I can only feature the whole topic (and it's first page) and not a select post. But if I could have front paged it I would have, great work

That is beautiful...
@grohl, @allanp - I would say it is worth to create a separate topic with that post (copy it) and close it right after front paging (with a link to this thread for comments). Is it not possible? :)

@allanpShall I create a separate topic then?

29th alternate build of 42117 is here! The plane features spinning propeller linked to the landing gear and the front wheel follows the direction of the plane on the ground.
