grohl Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 TUGBOAT built for the cancelled 2nd LSR race. Propulsion nearly the same as my other boats, but a bit strenghtened to be able to pull some load. It uses the same boat hull as well, but is IMHO a lot uglier than the previous ones. The video would not be here if there were not for my Facebook fans. They convinced me it is worth showing to other people. Version 1.0 Version 2.0 Quote
grohl Posted October 24, 2011 Author Posted October 24, 2011 I am working on LDD instructions for my helicopter transport, but some things just do not work as they should, so I asked mighty ZBLJ for help and he agreed. Because I will need a lot of light bluish grey parts for my next project, I have to disassemble the VIGGEN. Would anybody be interested in photo instructions of it? It takes a lot of time and I will not have to edit and upload all the photos just for my needs. Quote
DLuders Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Yes, I would be interested in a photo sequence of the SAAB Viggen's disassembly. There are very few great Lego Technic aircraft, and it would be a shame if it is not recorded for posterity. Quote
technicmad Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Of course I would be interested. I need more non-supercar MOCs on Rebrickable :) Quote
GT-Vince Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Yes, photo instructions would very much be appreciated. I think most of the less experienced builders (like me) would love to build such an fantastic plane. Quote
grohl Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 Alright, the Viggen is nearly dead and I am here with something to shorten your time for the instructions. My 30th alternate of 8271. I wanted to make something special and what could be better than a smaller version of my most successful model. -rotating and leaning head -moving front legs and their last part -moving wings Quote
Zerobricks Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Now aint that cute!!! Nice use of worm gear to move wings and the rounded bricks for head. About time you get new bricks though, lots of them are fractured. Quote
grohl Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 Thank you. I have already replaced approx. 40 of them. I really did not expect the bent liftarms to break. But we still learn. Quote
timslegos Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Very nice creation! How haven't you run out of ideas yet?! tim Quote
grohl Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) I may have done many mistakes during counting the parts but still the number is over 2100. Here are the promised instructions Edit// I will post the link to BS after the gallery is made public. Edited October 27, 2011 by grohl Quote
captainmib Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Dude, awesome! Thanks for sharing. Man there are soooooo many parts in this. Hope to get some ideas of this. I think Lego should make a jet or helicopter this size... Quote
Paul Boratko Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Your brain is filled with 1000's of great ideas... TLC could really use a talented designer like you... Quote
technicmad Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I have added the Viggen to Rebrickable: http://rebrickable.com/catalog/grohl/saab-ja-37-viggen I knew this was a big plane, but holy cow there are a lot of pieces Great work Grohl! Quote
grohl Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 LDD hates me and I start to hate it as well. Instead of nice digital instructions you have to be satisfied with my classic photo sequence for building the helicopter transport. Click the Picture. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Would you like me to make paper ones for you? Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) Or digital instructions ,you must be running out of ideas for more moc's. Edited November 4, 2011 by Alasdair Ryan Quote

DLuders Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 (edited) Instead of nice digital instructions you have to be satisfied with my classic photo sequence for building the helicopter transport. I compiled all of Grohl's photographs of his 8052 Helitransport alternate into a single, 11.4-MB PDF file available for download here (via MegaUpload SkyDrive). Edited February 7, 2012 by DLuders Quote
grohl Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 I would like to thank you, David, and apologize to all of you. I really do not know how it made its way to the box with 8052, but in the steering mechanism of the truck is 8L axle. It can be easily replaced with 5L + 3L and an axle joiner from the spare parts. Jurgen Krooshoop Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Thanks Grohl & David for providing the instructions !! Quote
