grohl Posted November 9, 2011 Author Posted November 9, 2011 Just a silly small alternate of 8045. Dead Ed Quote
bord4kop Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Nice one! at first I did not see what it actually was.. But in the video it shows. And after the recognition it really is a nice build Quote
timslegos Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Genius!! Once again raising the bar!! tim Quote
Splat Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Nice work on your 31st 8271 Alternate. I love how his head looks left and right as he rides, and the colour combination is great - yellow for the trike, grey for the rider. Quote
Blakbird Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Nice! Kind of reminds me of this guy. This is the only Technic set I can think of to do such a thing. Quote
Jurgen Krooshoop Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Your creativity never seems to end. 31 alternatives to 1 small set is stunning. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Nice! Kind of reminds me of this guy. This is the only Technic set I can think of to do such a thing. That was my first lego set. Nice work Grohl. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Again great work! But also a big BOOOOO to grohl; now I have to get me another copy of the 8271 set... Quote
grohl Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 Thank you very much. I remember that set from the catalogues when I was a kid. The system in my model is nearly the same as Blakbird mentioned. Quote
nicoga3000 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 grohl, I've been wandering through this topic, and I must say...I'm not a huge Technic fan, but your work is literally mind numbingly good. My favorite is still probably your praying mantis, but absolutely everything you've got in here is CRAZY good. Keep it up!!! Quote
AVCampos Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 So far, this is my favourite of your 8271 alternates! To me, more than the 8022, it reminds me of the B-model of the 8414. Also, of all your one-set MOCs, my all-time favourite is still the 8294 Parrot. Quote
TechnicJuan Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Your creativity never seems to end. 31 alternatives to 1 small set is stunning. Completely agree. Quote
DLuders Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) I made a Lego Digital Designer (LDD) .lxf Building Instruction file for Grohl's "Trike Rider" 8271 alternate, and posted it on MegaUpload SkyDrive for people to download: https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=5641cce2a1cc0886&resid=5641CCE2A1CC0886!177&parid=5641CCE2A1CC0886!175 . The PDF Parts List is available here. I built it with real bricks too, and it brings a smile to people's faces! Thanks for sharing it, Grohl! [NOTE: One must attach the rider's nose and breastplate; they are resting on the LDD baseplate as shown here.] Edited February 5, 2012 by DLuders Quote
grohl Posted November 28, 2011 Author Posted November 28, 2011 Thank you, David. I was able to make my first .lxf on my own. Here is my 1 year old 8052 Tow truck. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/grohl666/8052TowTruck/8052_tow_truck.lxf Quote
barman Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I realy like the stuff you make. It's brilliant the way you always manange to get great looking big and small one-set-MOCs Keep on building Quote
grohl Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 (edited) Šťastné a veselé Vánoce a málo promarněných šancí v roce 2012. Merry Christmas and no missed opportunities in 2012. Milan Finally the X-mas present for you is available. You can build my Carrod for free. Edited December 25, 2011 by grohl Quote
DLuders Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 (edited) I compiled all of Grohl's 127 photo-sequence Building Instructions of his Lego Technic Carrod into one 5-MB PDF file which you can download here via MegaUpload SkyDrive. Grohl wrote that it was his "first hot-rod in the colour of a carrot. 21cm 495g 3 M motors, return-to-center steering, opening doors. Maximum speed 13 kph." : Edited February 5, 2012 by DLuders Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Thanks to Grohl for this fine and fun model. @Dluders: I knew I could rely on you in making a pdf for these photo-instructions! Quote
grohl Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 (edited) Thanks again November and December were a bit busy months, but last week I had time to return back to LEGO. Here are my new 8052 alternate models. The first one is inspired by Steinwinter truck and it will never have building instructions since I was not satisfied with it. Functions: Truck- Motorized rear wheel drive Steering Opening doors Trailer- Raising legs via LA Opening rear The second one uses modified front part of the previous one but brings something I haven't built for a while - MOBILE CRANE. Functions: Steering Opening doors Stabilizers Rotating superstructure Raising 3-section boom Working winch The only thing you have to add is 1,5m of black thread. Edited March 5, 2012 by grohl Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Love the crane i would of changed those 2 grey 2 axle liftarms at the end of the hook to the middle, but this may of meant that you would have a axle sticking out the side. you could not make the boom extend with a bit more thread and 2 axles and 2 bushes? I wanted the hook to look like this I understand the system of extending the boom via thread but what about those bushes and axles? You still need a way to extend the middle part of the boom and there are no gears left in this model. Quote
