Posted July 16, 201014 yr Here i present my largest LDD-Project. I begin october 2008 with the idea to create the Simpsons house. Over three weeks i plan, build, test and rebuild at this project... ...and ... it looks good. ;) Greatest problem was the correct proportions of the house! House, colors, windows, trees etc. change from episode to episode in tv-series, and scene to scene in the movie. :( Hard to find good screensshots. At last i use some screenshots from the movie, because they looks best with most details. The characters i create too... without Lisa. Here i don´t find fitting tiles in LDD. (2008 i don´t know from universe-mode) So the final model comes with lot of details. :D Ok now some screens from the 2008 Version of my Simpsons-House: Very much details. ;) Bart´s threehouse, Bart´s skateboard, Maggie´s sandbox, Marge´s swing, oilleak in front of the garage... und much more. Today... before one week, i rebuild the house again in LDD "universe"-Mode! :D More bricks, all colors... great. Final, i change so much constructions of the house, so only the proportions be nearly the same. Windows, doors, colors, characters, fence, gimmic´s are changed. So i create the house now to open, and build some rooms to "play" in it. AND... i see the proportions are not even corectly 100%. Too small is the house too! :( But who cares? Its look much better as the old 2008 model. Incl. Homers Car and now with Lisa. But see self the 2010 Version of my Simpsons-House: Now some open scenes: The house is not realy 100% finished, but i´m very proud! :D Feedback´s are welcome. Btw: click on pictures to enlarge. July 16, 201014 yr I like it very much! What do you think about adding some furnitures? Do you think to share your lxf file?
July 16, 201014 yr Wow it looks really nice! I wish it was easier to see the details on the inside though but from what I can tell you did a great job!
July 16, 201014 yr Author I like it very much! What do you think about adding some furnitures? Do you think to share your lxf file? Yes, fornitures are planed. But the rooms are very small, so i´m not sure that realy simpsons-style comes up. :( The .lxf file i share later. Im new in this community, and i will wait a while. Ok? ;)
July 16, 201014 yr But the rooms are very small, so i´m not sure that realy simpsons-style comes up. :( If you want, you can post some images of the original furnitures and their max size in studs, and we can help you to realize that! I'll wait for the lxf file than! Thanks for your work!

Thanks for your work! Trust me, its nearly imposible to take furnitures inside. The rooms realy small and out of correct proportions. :( For example: The TV-Room. The carpet i create with much imaginations. ;) But the wall behind the sofa is in my creation only 4 studs. 4 studs for a sofa, lamp and a little table? For minifigs? No way. The overall proportions of the simpsons-house and interior is very crazy. Edited July 16, 201014 yr by Jey_Bee
July 16, 201014 yr That's true, but furniture could be simply inspired and not identical! Look at this 4-studs sofa... it could be placed in the room! Perhaps you could gain space for the como if you use a smaller arc (I think 4x1x1 arc could be appropriate). In this way you could cut out the space for a little como and the lamp.

I´m afraid, that i create the simpsons-house completly new in next time. Larger and with better proportions.
July 16, 201014 yr I think that this version is very good because it has the "proportions" of a lego house! It is a great work as it is now!!! Obviously this thing can create some little issues when you try to put furniture into it (as ever happens in lego houses!) So you can try to make some little furniture in order to enrich it, but it is not necessary. The modification I told you before (use 4x1x1 archs) would help to rebuild the house as similar as possible to the original, but it would create problems with minifigs. In short... the perfect built does not exists, you only need to create the one that best approach to your idea.
August 4, 201014 yr Awesome job. One minor thing I'd add - "lost" toys on the roof ;) Frisbee, soccer ball, plane...
August 4, 201014 yr Not bad. Before Universe mode, I made a scale model of my house where 1 stud x 2 plates = six cubic inches (15 cubic cm). It got to be rediculously large, but since I was able to make the walls 6 inches thick throughout, the scale was pretty much spot on inside and out. Unfortunately, that computer has a bad HDD... :(
