Anio Posted July 19, 2010 Author Posted July 19, 2010 could you not make the green parts larger and more rounded? i dont think the 8x3 curved slope are correct. Inclining the slope I have is IMO only a botch-up (sorry if it is not the right word I used :s ). And it is maybe an illegal build. Which other part could I use ? Quote

Which other part could I use ? you could use hinge bricks 2x4 slopes 4x3 slopes etc or you could move them out 1-2 studs and then build slopes/curves behind to fill the space? Quote
Anio Posted July 19, 2010 Author Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) you could use hinge bricks 2x4 slopes 4x3 slopes etc I think it is better with curved slopes. :) But maybe you can show me how it looks like ? It doesn't exist in sand green. Otherwise I would have use it. Sure, as it has the perfect shape (of course it has the perfect shape, since it was designed for the Slave 1 !). The dark green looks too shiny. I don't know why TLG made his slave with dark green... Oh, yes, I know. TLG did it with dark green to produce a "new" Slave, and so to make money. edit : doing the wings only with tan parts will be expensive. Edited July 19, 2010 by Anio Quote

Anio Posted July 19, 2010 Author Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) Thank you. But I prefer curved slope. Don't you ? edit : wtf, I may have pay 30€ to get all the tan parts. O_o Some of them are damn expensive, especially the wings. Edited July 19, 2010 by Anio Quote
cavegod Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Thank you. But I prefer curved slope. Don't you ? yes curved is far better i still say move it out 1 or 2 studs and fill the gap with slopes Quote
Anio Posted July 19, 2010 Author Posted July 19, 2010 i still say move it out 1 or 2 studs and fill the gap with slopes Sorry, I don't understand what you mean... :s Quote
cavegod Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Sorry, I don't understand what you mean... :s move the sand green 8x3 slopes towards the stabilizer fins and then fill the gap behind to make that section wider like the SS prop Quote
Big Cam Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Very nice, I'm amazed how it looks so much like the original, just bigger. Great work. Quote
drdavewatford Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Fantastic job as usual, Anio ! Please let us know when the instructions are available for download....... Cheers, Dr. D. Quote
Anio Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 Fantastic job as usual, Anio ! Please let us know when the instructions are available for download....... Cheers, Dr. D. Well. I didn't wanted to give the file I have since : - there are several wrong parts in it - I removed all the gears - many parts have changed - some element of my MOC aren't in the file (the wings, the cockpit, all the greebs behind). BUT, if one of my best "fan" ( ) ask me to supply this file, I'm compelled to give it. So, here it is : http://up.sur-la-toile.com/iAR9 Just one thing : Put the credit if you use it. The sticker may come soon in my BS. Quote
drdavewatford Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Thanks, Anio ! Dr. D. PS. Did you build your Venator yet ? If I remember correctly you were waiting for instructions. Quote
Anio Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 Thanks, Anio ! Dr. D. PS. Did you build your Venator yet ? If I remember correctly you were waiting for instructions. Yeah. I built it 6 months ago. Here it is : http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=422392 Quote
drdavewatford Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Yeah. I built it 6 months ago. Here it is : http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=422392 Fantastic ! Did you make your own version or use Atix-Naid's instructions ? Dr. D. Quote
Anio Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 Fantastic ! Did you make your own version or use Atix-Naid's instructions ? I used his instructions. But I did a lot of changes. The frame, is more "clean". I made some greebs different, same for the engines. I also add the hangar below. And Oxycrest did the famous display card. Quote
cavegod Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 oh now thats just great if i didn't have enough to do you go and give building instructions for slave 1 would look nice with your pod racer!! still waiting for you to do sebulbas pod racer! i may just start building slavey and see if i can improve some bits somehow Quote

I already built Anio's podracer - lovely ! Next I plan to use some of the same building techniques to improve the podracers in set 7171 and then photograph them all together. It would I fear be a DISASTER if Atix-Naid's Venator instructions were available online because it would probably then be impossible for me to resist sourcing the 5000+ pieces and building a copy....!
