Hi there,

Been looking to get into motorized (and specifically remote controlled) lego stuff, read the review on this site for the 8043 Motorized Excavator and I've started shopping around.

I can get one buy it now on eBay for £170, but there's one to bid on from £150, and one at 99p (reserve not met)

I can't find the RRP anywhere, should I splash for the £170 one or is it worth sitting for a while and hoping the auctions end lower?

I saw it for £139.99 on some Google Shopping site but it was sold out or not yet available so figured it may have been outdated or something.

How come eBay prices are so steep then?

A couple have best offer options, but aside from that the cheapest is that £150 one?

Sorted, cheers.

I think the prices are high because up until late last week the UK was only of the only places where you could buy one, so sellers were taking advantage of that.

It's still not available in the US.

That is crazy, but it kinda makes up for the inflated price we pay for Lego (and everything) in England!

I've been watching ebay prices for quite a while. Often the sellers buy the first models and get them up on ebay fast. People then will pay over the odd's to get their hand on them early.

Same goes for the older models that appear 2 or 3 years after. Buy it now for 2 or 3 times the original price.

Somebody must be buying the sets
