Posted July 19, 201014 yr I am sure some of you know what lego Truck Trial is. And for those who doesn't know I'll explain briefly. Truck trial is a (lego) truck competition over VERY rough terrain. I just thought why not to start a new forum topic of YOU showing your Trucks and talking about them :) So let me start myself: As written at My website : A large scale model of the TATRA T-815 military truck. Motorized using the power functions elements. This is actually my first power functions serious model ever! A fter getting the 8275 motorized bulldozer I used Its parts for the tatra. It is powered by 2 XL motors in a ratio about 1:7. the first gear was an 8 tooth gear, it always snapped and broke under pressure. Which limited the truck’s abilities. Each wheel is suspended independently and all of them are driven. The front 2 axles steer. The suspension modals are basically the same as my old NXT tatra 8×8 accept the steering mechanism, In my opinion the new one in much more reliable and, well, good. I think I did quite a good job for the exterior of the truck. All parts used for the exterior are from the bulldozer set. I saw once that the polish truck trial rules say that the truck must have working fake piston engine. I didn’t have that much space so I added a V2 engine . A video: Now what will you make?!

Four front wheels were steered by one PF M motor. The total weight was something about 4,7kg. I don't have a movie with it, because its drivetrain had one failure: the knob wheels used inside the front axles had tendecy to block each other. Despite of that, it was a quite good model, and maybe I will rebuild it some day, with better axles and Model Team look. Now what will you make?! A crane, probably :D
July 19, 201014 yr Author There are more rules in our TrTr competition, the Genereal Rules can be found here: http://www.lugpol.pl/forum/viewtopic.php?p=100613#100613 Yeah I know the lugpol rules. And I just want to tell you I was really impressed at the first time I saw your Oshkosh. Make a new edition!
July 19, 201014 yr the polish truckt rial rules are not the right for me. my models are in the Scale of the Tires and in the most times not in 1:13 I wonder why the lugpol rules are so rigid about the Wheelbase and width, they must fit to the original, but the height is free. i think the rules of the dimensions should be modified: The Scale of the truck must fit to the tire The Vehicle Dimensions must be similar to the Scale. to example: Is the Scale wheelbase/height/width 25 studs, the wheelbase/height/width of the model must have 25 +/-0,5 studs m_longer, respect your HEMMT looks really really realistic Edited July 19, 201014 yr by efferman
July 19, 201014 yr I made 1 Trial Truck so far, using the chassis of Sariel's Jeep Wrangler. A 8466-like body was built around it: The best one I've seen so far is Zblj's Lime-green Avenger.
July 19, 201014 yr The best one I've seen so far is Zblj's Lime-green Avenger. No offence to anyone, but it feels like some 60% of this car's performance is credit to its wheels.
July 20, 201014 yr No offence to anyone, but it feels like some 60% of this car's performance is credit to its wheels. Well I dont see anything wrong with that It took me a lot of time to find these wheels, and I had to make the whole drivetrain stronger, because these wheels require much more torque. Its not really truck to be honest, but more of an offroader Where are more trucks guys?
July 23, 201014 yr My third version of my FTTS International Trial Truck. Still driven by one XL and steered by one M motors, only the steering angle has improved and the whole truck is now 65 grams lighter than it used to be, even when some details as rearview mirrors and grills have been added.
July 23, 201014 yr [ First project, finished couple of weeks ago, but failed. 6x6x2 Drive: XL motor: 1:9 Reduction Steering: M motor: 1:9 Reduction Winch: M motor: 1:40 Reduction PF Lights 2 or 3 battery boxes. Why Failed? One XL motor, used as driving motor had not enough torque to drive this monster (3,5 kg) through obstacles (does not meet my expectations, and was taken apart). And sometimes, whole model had tendecy to fall over, while passing through uneven terrain. Edited July 23, 201014 yr by backbone
