Best 2010 City set?

Hello everybody!

Since we now have got pics and/or reviews of all City sets being released this year, I thought that it would be interesting to know which your favourite City set of this year is.

So please vote. Commments are welcome!

For me it was either public transportation center, Family home or helicopter and limousine.

In the end I had to go for the public transportation center, The vehicles in it look great for filling up my town, Especially that tram

It'll be interesting to see what the most popular city set of the year is

Well I had to go 8404 just because of the tram and tram stop plus that cute/cool street sweeper.

But it just beat 8403, 7848, 3221, 7636, 7637, 7639, 3180 and finally 3179.

I wonder what we'll have next year I guess we'll start talking about that in a month or so ?

Haven't had the pleasure of getting the Helicopter and Limo yet (one of the first sets that intrigued me about City), and I'm very interested in picking up both the City house and several pieces of the train line...

But, I have gotten my hands on almost all of the others, and of them all I surprised myself by voting for the Airport. In terms of build, design, and just how substantial it is for the price, I found myself pretty impressed. Like I said, I could very well see myself voting for the Train Station, but I'll have to wait for a true assessment.

I voted for the Helicopter and Limousine. I just think it was a very cool concept for a set that hasn't been done before.

Cargo train for me. I almost chose Public Transport, as it's one set that I didn't expect, and because the tram is something TLG never had designed before -- quite a feat, in 50+ years of history! Anyway, I still voted for the train, I was really looking forward to a new modern freight train and this year's cargo train set doesn't disappoint. Of course I have yet to buy it, but that's another story!

There's a bunch that are sooo good. I collect and MOC buildings in big modular style, so the CITY buildings won't do much for me.

But the vehicles... all of them are just about fantastic. Octan Truck, LEGO truck and its TRU brother, Public Transport (collection of vehicles basically), so hard to pick just one.

So I just went with something I have 6 copies of... voted Small Car!

The public transport center really saved the year for me! I bought two at the recent TRU BOGO50. Though I don't love any one truck set, I am super happy about the variety this year. Now if we can get a truck stop, those poor truckers can stop and grab a bite to eat

For me this year's best City set is without any doubts

8403 Family House :wub:

since it includes a whole family, a detailed awesome interior, a lot of accessory and a brilliant exterior.

The top five of this year's City sets are for me:

1. Family House

2. TRU Truck

3. Public Transport

4. Helicopter And Limousine

5. Piglets Enclosure With Tractor

But of course all of this year's City sets are (apart from the Fire sets and the train station) totally amazing!

I wonder what we'll have next year I guess we'll start talking about that in a month or so ?

Right, lightningtiger. But ideas (like I did have and post) can already be discussed here.

I hardly own any of the 2010 sets, but I'll vote for my top 5 at the moment. I should be able to collect lots of these over the next few months, then I'll have a better idea of what I really like.

For now, my top 5 is a follows (not in any particular order):

-Cargo Train

-Family House

-Pig Farm & Tractor

-TRU Truck

-Passenger Train

I'm sad to say so, but personally the most disappointing set this year for me is the Public Transport. I guess I set my hopes much too high. Some of the vehicles are nice, but as a whole the set looks like a mess.

I don't own any of these sets, but judging from what I know and see, my favourite has to be 7684 Piglets Enclosure With Tractor. My second choice would be Public Transport, but it's so darn expensive!

I voted Lego Trunk, even though I haven't yet seen it in a shop yet. I considered voting for the Cargo Train and the Limo and Helicopter too. There are a number of great sets this year.

My favorite this year has got to 7848 Toys 'R' Us Truck. The store is a great add-on to the truck, and the blue-white color scheme is much more appealing to me than the yellow of the LEGO Truck. But the best combination would be to have the LEGO Truck's stickers on the TRU Truck!

I went for the Octan Tanker as I have waited for ages for a six-stud-wide tanker ever since the four-wides were ditched. I still have my (greatly dicoloured) Gas Transit Truck (6594) from '92 which I believe was my first set...
