Posted July 24, 201014 yr The Toys R Us USA online store has restocked the Lego 8043 Motorized Excavator: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4057231 . Alas, they don't ship to anywhere else other than the USA. I ordered my son's copy of this set from them, and it arrived a few days ago in good shape. Price is US$199.99 (before applicable sales taxes) -- Free Shipping. This set still is not offered by Shop.Lego.com to USA customers, so this is the best option to get one right now. The local Toys R Us retail store doesn't stock large, expensive sets like this.
July 24, 201014 yr Hi, I want to tell you something about the situation in Germany, maybe we should start a topic which contains all posts regarding 8043 availability and prices In Germany there seems to be no store which has 8043 available, I think we have to wait until late august But there is a great offer by the online shop buch.de : 8043 excavator for 144,99€ (equal to 187USD or 121GBP)! Shipping to Germany is free and there is also shipping to western European countries, the USA and Canada. Sadly there is no shipping date but I except late august. They also have other 2H2010 sets at rather low prices.
July 24, 201014 yr Strange thing is, that I bought mine in Czech republic on the 6th July, but there is only one e-hop that offers it. Edited July 24, 201014 yr by grohl
July 25, 201014 yr I've found it on several e-shops in the Netherlands, available August 10, lowest price: €129,95
July 26, 201014 yr i have bought one yesterday, waiting for shipping. All costs: 640 PLN (157 EUR or 203 USD)
July 29, 201014 yr I bought one last week at the local Toys R Us. They had a couple in stock. You will be most pleased with this set. Great fun to build and play with!
July 29, 201014 yr This set is rather overpriced by US standards, even though it's otherwise the best set we've gotten in a long time. It will probably be available at the Brickfair event with the 20% discount, given that it's showing up at retail stores now, but I'm not sure if I would buy it at the regular $200 price. The piece-to-price ratio is very poor by Technic standards and there is no reason why it should be a full $50 more than 8275, which had parts of comparable value. On the other hand, it's possible that this price is just a TRU markup, which we have seen in the past.
July 30, 201014 yr TRU Canada website now lists these as "In Stock" at $250. if only I hadn't blown that much at BL recently.
