If you have the Eco Base set that had the hanger and small control room and put that in front of this new one, then I think that you have a full base  plus you could even add the set with the first taun taun and snow trench plus a AT-AT I say you have a pretty good battle seen going on there

As a base this is great but it does not say HOTH to me. i liked the old one with the outside shown. I am sure this will go for about 120$ as the price count and premium.

I agree with Slimninj4 the base looks odd with out a roof and proper walls. This is not what I was imagining when I first heard of whats in this set. Still going to get it to add the the other Hoth sets.

I don't really like the Hoth set. Its to crowded, and un-accurate. Oh well, I wasn't planing on buying it anyways.

Not even inaccurate, but even striving to move away from accuracy?

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the 1:1 scale is a Taun Taun.

So the box will be 4 Taun Taun height*4 Taun Taun height*1 Taun Taun width.

I don't own a one so I can't to the calculations myself, but if someone can, we can know how big this set will be and it would lead to a price.. :classic:

Ah, but as we longtime LEGO fans know, size of box is never an accurate representation of price or pieces.

Its not THAT bad, although I agree that it generally lacks the "star wars" vibe. I like the detailing and bacta tank. Still, I haven't bought Star Wars in a long time because of the inflated prices, and I doubt this will be much different.

Pieces, never but price, almost always isn't it?

I'm going to use the Canadian System here,

Battlepack Box: $15

Small Fighter/Small Playset box: $25-35

Two medium Sized Vehicle Box: $40-60

Large Fighter Box: $60-80

Large Playset/ Super Large Vehicle Box: $90-140

I assume this will be in similar dimensions as a 'Large Fighter Box'

Good guesses. I'm betting on closer to original Hoth system, adjusted for 5 years of inflation and general greediness so... original was $50, multiply that by 0.2, carry the 8, square root of the pi, probably $80. Toys R Us price will probably be 100

It doesn't look as good as previous large sets (like Battle Of Endor), but at least it has a nice Med-bay, and Luke in underwear.

And it does look better than I imagined, as I thought it would be smaller.

Not a fan personally, bit of a missed opportunity. They would've been better putting the effort into a new Jabba's palace!

Wow, that looks great!

Well, not that great, but it's got nice minifigures and it's smaller than expected. If it was Battle of Endor-sized, I wouldn't get it. Now it's a definite possibility though.

I wish I had the other Echo Base set to go with it. I don't think K3PO will be in another set, unfortunately.

Interesting to see the new speeder style being applied to the Snowspeeder (the long piece at the hood).

I know this is probably a little premature but when should we expect to start hearing about the next wave of sets coming through?

Hi everyone,

I think this is a really great set for... kids (the main target of TLG, isn't it?) : lot of playabily, guns, some bad guys, turntable things etc... But like I previously read on the forum I don't feel any Star Wars vibes about this set unlike the really exciting Endor one. If you add the AT-AT + the previous Echo Base it's become a wonderful battle set for ...kids!

Maybe this is old news already but, the new Millennium Falcon, Republic Frigate, Dathomir Speeder, Ewok Attack, podracer and Sith Infiltrator are on public display in Tokyo Station clickbrick and Yurakucho bic camera. I have some pretty terrible pictures in my flickr stream.

Notable points - lots of stickers on the Dathomir speeder and Anakin`s podracer. Horrific shutlines on the Falcon, a huge huge disappointment to me as that was the set I thought I would definitely get. The Republic Frigate looks really good and the wolfpack clones are lovely. Captain Panaka is great, Watto and Sebulba have awesome printing, Sebulba`s podracer is held together with a lot of transparent (7 long?)technic beams.

Great minifigures but I am not convinced by the sets, and I am gutted about the Falcon. I actually thought it must have been built wrong when I first saw it, but the second one was the same.

Robuko

Hmm, good point. I'd guess between $75 and $100.

Unfortunately, I think you're right. If they charge me $100USD for this thing I am going to be angry. Because it's substantial enough of an OT set that I want it. Grrrrrrrrr....

All in all it's not bad. I love the thought of the Luke in the Bacta and the 21B, and I love the thought of another Tauntaun in there (was hoping 2, actually). But this should be a $75USD set, tops... and I know that's dreaming...

Might be a great set to pick up about a year and a half from now, when TRU is desperately trying to clear their shelves of them (a la Home One). I can hold out on this thing indefinitely if it means I get it at $50-60USD.

I was really looking forward to this set but after seeing the picture I doubt I'll pick this set up. As many have pointed out already there's no real feel that this is Echo Base with the exception of the Bacta tank and Hoth figures. Do we really need another Han in Hoth outfit..? I would have preferred a couple of more rebel officers. There's no need for another speederbike so instead a mini landing strip with a snow speeder would have been better. They could have even taken the mold of the Home One set and modded to make a better Hoth set in my opinion.

Me and my brother were talking about this set earlier and both agreed that TLG really nail getting the ships right but struggle with the play sets (with the exception of the Endor set).

I really hope that whoever designed this set is not allowed anywhere near Jabba's Palace if that's next on the list..!

Everyone says the Endor set is the only good playset...did everyone here already forget about the Death Star? It's the king of playsets.
