Does anyone know if Captain Rex in the Battle For Geonosis is wearing the gay or black ARG gear?

Has anyone here gotten their grubby little hands on any of the January sets yet?

And in case you haven't seen...

Mkay, see we've got this topic named "Star Wars Sets Anyone?" which is on availability and special offers.

How about we keep that stuff there and not here?

This is for the discussion of rumors and pictures on 2011 sets.

Keep it at that - please.

(See? I asked nicely - I wont be doing that again).

Someone got the new V-Wing, and posted a video about it.

Watch it here. I couldn't embed it,

since it said it was disabled by request.

The new figure is a re-colored V-Wing pilot from Palpatine's shuttle, mostly.

Thanks 'General Magma' for that link, COOL looking pilot and what an astromech eh ?

I do like the wing mechanism, static mode then rotate for flight mode....very playable !

May the brick be with you ! :vader:

:hmpf: Bah! A hit hunter - I'll look, but it looks like another inferior video review only done to have a lot of hits and thus it's been made in a hurry and not a deep or useful review.

Hopefully I'll be proved wrong shortly :sceptic:

EDIT: Great *huh* a stop-motion build with crap odd choice of music.

Thanks for that General Magma .Although I want to wait untill a proper review to judge. Its like what KimT said "its not a deep or useful review".

I am most interested about the fig and the astromech, they look a lot better than I though.

Thanks, CB

I know, right. :sceptic:

But it might have been nice useful/helpful alright for those who wanted to know what pieces were included, since the inventory isn't up yet on BrickLink. And there's a closer look at the figures. There's not much else of interest to the set, either..

Anyways... I'll try to find something useful, then.

At least the video answers some of the burning questions about the V-Wing. The pilot's helmet is open in the front, and you have to remove the astromech's head to put it into the ship. I wish the person who did the review could have at least shown how the wing mechanism works.

While the video isn't exactly great, it is better than nothing. I still look forward to a competent review, but for right now this looks like a buy for me.

EDIT: Great *huh* a stop-motion build with crap odd choice of music.

If God had wanted us to listen to crap odd music, He wouldn't have given us mute buttons. Or something like that.

I know - but I was hoping for the guy to make some kind of statement, like a voice-over or something

I know it's better than nothing and for what it's worth, it does show the parts and that you need to rip the Astromech apart to fit it into the V-Wing

It's a walktrough - which is dissapointing when you're hoping for a review.

Guess I looked at it with the wrong glasses - if you know what I'm saying?

It was kinda helpful :classic:

But he put the astromechs head on backwards :sceptic:

And I was right the head was printed

Wow, I think I've could've guessed that.

So you figured out that LEGO heads are printed - bravo!!1!

I think that was fairly obvious from the start.

to me with the wing mechanism you just turn it by hand?

I should have a title saying figured the obvious or something like that

Does anybody know where he got the set :look:

A huge DSS...having to take the astromech's "head" off to put it on the ship...this ship is just awful. The figures may be the only redeeming qualities that I can see.

And as for that video, is it 2003 again? Can't kids angst with more modern music?

Actually, the guy who made that video is an adult.

The music is crap, but we'll have to thank the mute button - that's what it's there for. Or.. was it something else?

Back on-topic:

The wing turning mechanism consists of cogs, which you can see at the back.

Also: That DSS really lowers the quality of the set. I really don't know the need for a new canopy piece either.

But oh well, the astromech isn't a sticker, thankfully.

Cool. I like that the wings go up and down using a gear, but I'm disappointed that you have to take off the Astromech head to put it on the ship :sceptic:

If you watch the video again (remember: Mute is your friend  ), you can see two black beveled gears on one side of the ship (if the engines are towards you, it would be the right side). This is the mechanism for turning the wings. It looks like there is an L-shaped Technic piece on the other side that will act as a stop so that the wings don't go too far. I'm not sure how much friction there will be to hold the wings upright, though.

EDIT: Gen. Magma beat me to it. Curse him!

Also, I added a link to the piece I mentioned.

Hey, at least it came with the whole astromech right?

At least its nice that TLC made the wings rotate at the same time.

Yeah. To me it doesn't look like there's anything to keep the wings upright

Jeez, for the 2005 V-wing, people conplained that you didn't get a full droid! Now people are complaining that we DO get a full droid! whatever, I'm definitely getting this one. I wish the guy did a review though. And what happened to Qui Gon Jinn's review of the BoN?
