Blackknight112 Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Oh My GOD!!!! I must get all these sets because these pics are just amazing!! the only thing that might stop me is the space in my room, i only have room for 1 more large set. :( Can someone give me ideas on how i could still manage to get it and fit them perhaps? :/ I have the same problem, but I will dismantel some old sets, al sets look really nice. But darth maul's ship seems to big to me Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Isn't it great that TLG seems to have been giving us cool new minifigs in relatively small sets this 2011? Battle for Geonosis - Luminara Unduli Dathomir Speeder - Savage Oppress Geonosian Starfighter - Ki-Adi Mundi Ki Adi is also a sight for sore eyes, but I hope the other figs in that set will change in the final version. It would be pretty weird if it came with Cody and a green Geonosian. Replacing Cody with a new clone, more appropriately Ki-Adi's troop commander Jet, would be awesome! But that's asking TLG too much, and I'm already contented with Ki-Adi in this set. Quote

But that's asking TLG too much, and I'm already contented with Ki-Adi in this set. I'm glad they put Cody in. While I like Jet it's still good to have a cheaper way to get Cody as I couldn't get the Republic Gunship. My only complaint would be if theres only 1 Geonosian. I mean 2 Geonosis sets and we only get 1 Geonosian. I hope there is at least 2 in the Starfighter Quote
Stardusty Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 (edited) Well, I'm probably going to get this: Republic Frigate - Quinlan Vos, Eeth Koth (?), Yoda + 2 clones Sith Infiltrator - Qui-Gon, Padme, Darth Maul and someone else <-----best set of summer wave Dathomir Speeder - Assaj Ventress, Savage Opress, Anakin Geonosis Starfighter - Ki Adi Mundi adn few other minifigures OMG! I 2011 I am going to buy: T-6 Halo BoN x2/3 Mando BP x2 Clone BP x3 Sith Infiltrator Republic Frigate Dathomir Speeder x2 Geonosis Starfighter That's 14/15 sets. Yap! I am going to have enough money. Sith Infiltrator is really cool. Edited December 25, 2010 by Stardusty Quote
Legoman Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 These pics are a nice Christmas present The Frigate I'll probably Pass. Nice but simply un-necessary to my collection Falcon Is a bit dissapointing In my opinion. Nothing new as such, and a lack of inspiration for new ideas. Will Probably Pass. Ewok attack is And thats it. Two new Ewoks - I love it! Must buy a few of that Beauty for my Endor setup!! D_______ Speeder - Well... Meh. I Couldn't care less Geonosian Fighter - Intresting. Undesided on this one. I may get one, and If I like it then mabye a couple more, But I have 2 of the original and really don't feel it needs much of an improvement. I'll deside in due corse with better pictures Podracers I'm very happy with these! Lots of new figs and lovely Pods. Must buy (only one though ) And lastly, the Infiltrator. It seems quite nice, Far batter than both the last two. And stunning figs. Finally a New Padme! And a Capt. Panaka! I may end up getting this after all Thanks heapps for the Pics! Quote
KimT Posted December 25, 2010 Author Posted December 25, 2010 First post updated from retail catalog pics. Plus if you're wondering about the prices - then we've known most of them for a while Feel free to correct any mistakes or things I've missed. Quote
darkrebellion Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Great! Finally some clear and quality pics ! I don't know from where to start commenting so I will just list my thoughts on each set: Ewok Attack: MUST BUY! I really like this set. Even thought we already have a Speeder Bike and the small Catapult that came with the Battle of Endor set it is great to see and vastly improved version of the later. The minifigures are perfect, more minifigures would have been great but honestly we can't really blame the TLC for the ones that come. Simply spot-on, the Scout Trooper is nice and the fact that they made TWO new Ewoks is something that I didn't thought they would do. The Black Ewok is probably my most wanted minifigure of this wave next to Watto. Dathomir Speeder: Great minifigures but I am not really all that much into CW in the moment so it will probably have to wait. Geonosian Fighter: Another great set. The fighter looks like an improvement over the last one and seems like a much more solid build (The last one was quite flimsy). I hope Ki-Adi-Mundi is non-CW based but I sincerely doubt that. It is really a shame the TLC never full-filled our wishes back then when CW minifigures didn't exist. The Geonosian looks new and being an alien I don't really mind the fact that it is CW-based. Anakin and Sebulba Podracers: FINALLY! This has to be my most wanted set ever since I start collecting LEGO SW. I never had the opportunity to get neither of the first podracers sets even thought I really really wanted them. It is great to see the TLC didn't took the short route for this ones. Both vehicles are GREAT and look like a joy to display. The minifigures are great too. Obi-Wan and Anakin while not really outstanding are good, the small green alien (Probably Greedo) is something I am looking forward to see and the new Sebulba is GREAT (Can't see the minifigure but from the pic it looks like a new mold or simply a repaint). Watto has to be my single most wanted minifigure SINCE I started collecting too. I always liked the look of the Toydarians and Watto was the only possible way the TLC could give us one. It looks like a repaint but after see what they did to Jar-Jar I must say I am really excited right now. Sith Infiltrator: Looks like a big set this time around. The size is a big improvement over the last ones and the minifigure selection is magnificent. PADME! That should resume everything I have to say about the minifigures in this set and Panaka just adds the cherry on top of that uber-fantastic banana split . The ship looks really nice and the way they made the side panels is something quite eye-catching. Republic Frigate: Most people compare it to the latest efforts of the TLC of producing large Republican cruisers but this looks like an exact copy to another set... the original 7665 Republic Cruiser. While the first cruiser was a great set this seems like the same ship with new paint coat. That seems rather lazy from the TLC and I really want them to stop giving us this large Republic ships and totally forgetting about the MUCH more interesting Separatist vehicles (In both color and shapes). The minifigures are still too blurry but it seems like we get Quilan Vos in the set bad thing they just gave us another Anakin in the T-6 Shuttle, that seems like cheating to me. This will be a pass. Millennium Falcon: Glad to see they finally decided to release another minifigure scale one. The sad part is that we still don't get the really expected RotJ version of it. The Falcon looks really similar to the last one too (One that I own), can't believe how after 7 years between releases they couldn't came up with a smarter design. The minifigures are just boring at this point. I can't get most of them in way smaller and cheaper sets now. Still sad about the RotJ thing . Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 2011 - the best year for star wars minifigs. To think once we got those bland designs and a tiny selection of characters - now we get amazing figs in every set That said, what on earth has gone on with the sets this year? Genosis starfighter - basically Dooku's ship again. Another ewokI catapult (we got one last year), the sith infiltrator again and a recoloured republic cruiser. Even the falcon looks like the 2004 version Once we got great sets and lousy minifigs...we've done a 180. Quote
legofan24 Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 could someone help guess what the figures are for the frigate. im pretty sure there is yoda and a clone pilot but that is it Quote
StoutFiles Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Greedo was NOT the only Rodian in the Star Wars universe, although I understand why it must be confusing since Lucas created a universe so small that everyone has met each other. Anakin's friend is Wald. Wald, not Greedo. Wald. Quote

Most of the PoTC sets are just blank boxes, I don't think it's too far fetched to assume they could just be using the 2004 Falcon as a place holder. Greedo was NOT the only Rodian in the Star Wars universe, although I understand why it must be confusing since Lucas created a universe so small that everyone has met each other. Anakin's friend is Wald. Wald, not Greedo. Wald. Granted, I don't understand the logic of the EU. But then why is he referred to as Greedo in Episode 1? Repeatedly. Quote

General Magma Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 (edited) Holy... A black and a tan ewok! I'm very excited right now.. Fantastic figures. It's just sad that there are only 3 figures, but hopefully the price will be lower. It's just a must-buy for me! My Endor project will get a larger variety of ewoks. Great stuff. And I was right about the royal guard in the Infiltrator. Ki-Adi-Mundi, Commander Cody and a green thing in the Geo' starfighter? Hmp. Hopefully they will improve the Geonosian, green isn't right at all. Republic Frigate: 2 clonetroopers, Eeth Koth, Quinlan Vos and Yoda. However, those are Clone Wars figures. What an amazing year, this will be. I'm absolutely looking forward to the MF and the ewok attack.. But I'll buy the rest, too. ~ General Magma Edited December 25, 2010 by General Magma Quote
Mr Man Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 *Happy* This is a great christmas present for me. The Sith infiltrator is perfect but the speeder bike thank god its a prelim (is it I hope so). Not a lot of army building sets . But some good commanders and Jedi (the only characters I like). Quote
Oky Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Feel free to correct any mistakes or things I've missed. I think it's safe to say that the third fig in the Geonosian Starfighter set is a Geonosian. And I'm pretty sure one of the figs in the Frigate is Quinlan Vos. Quote
General Magma Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Feel free to correct any mistakes or things I've missed. Well, the Sith Infiltrator also comes with a Naboo Royal Guard and Qui-Gon Jinn - Obi-Wan won't be in it. And uh, the Republic Frigate comes with Eeth Koth and Quinlan Vos. ~ General Magma Quote
legofan24 Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 The dathomir speeder looks realy odd. I dont like the face that it's uneven although saying that i am happy about the detail of savage opress and his pauldron thing Quote
Supersonic Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Wow, great pics. This is gonna be one hell of a wave, I'll have to buy every set. Who do you think the third Jedi in the Frigate is? Eeth Koth? Agen Kolar (unlikely, he hasn't been in TCW yet)? Even Piell? Saesee Tin again? Quote
General Magma Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 (edited) Wait a minute... I just zoomed into all sets, and then came across the ewok attack one. One of the ewoks appears to be wearing a mask... And he's dark tan. I'm 99% sure now... That ewok is Logray. It's great to have him too, sure, but then there's only 1 generic ewok in the set. Other than that, the speederbike has a different design, and the tree/plant has some logs rolling out of it, to serve as traps. Wow, great pics. This is gonna be one hell of a wave, I'll have to buy every set. Who do you think the third Jedi in the Frigate is? Eeth Koth? Agen Kolar (unlikely, he hasn't been in TCW yet)? Even Piell? Saesee Tin again? Eeth Koth. He has Zabrak horns and the long hair, so it's definitely Eeth Koth. ~ General Magma Edited December 25, 2010 by General Magma Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Eeth Koth. He has Zabrak horns and the long hair, so it's definitely Eeth Koth. But both Eeth Koth and Agen Kolar have Zabrak horns and long hair. The only thing going for Eeth is that he has already appeared in the CW series while Agen hasn't. Quote
Supersonic Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 But both Eeth Koth and Agen Kolar have Zabrak horns and long hair. The only thing going for Eeth is that he has already appeared in the CW series while Agen hasn't. It's a TCW set, so unless Agen shows up in Season 3, I guess it's Eeth. I just saw that the Frigate's turret shoots flickfire missiles. Another thing: one of the two clones in the Frigate could be a non-generic clone. One is holding a standard blaster, but the other one has commando pistols and a kama. Unless it's a generic commander as seen in the Clone Walker BP (which would be extremely lame in such a big set), it's some new sort of clone. I guess we'll know more in February. Quote
Bricks2000 Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Wow...These sets are fantastic! Now bring on toy fair! Quote
yellost Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Before I say anything else, that Falcon is a major disappointment. After seeing the post-UCS remakes of the X-wing, T-47, and Y-wing, I'm shocked at what they haven't fixed. Namely, that cockpit - it looks almost exactly the same. And from the angle, the mandibles aren't much to look at either. The docking ring and part of the upper hull appear to be built the same way as the previous rendition, and even the 3x3 pieces for the holes in the mandibles are the same. Granted, there does seem to be some improvement in the rear, but it's not very clear. Besides, you would think that when improving a set they would start with the biggest mistakes. (See what I did there?) It is true that these are preliminary pictures, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining, but based on what I've seen, this may join the 6212 X-wing as one of my most hated LEGO sets. I have to agree with you on that one, I was really looking forward to see what they'd learnt from designing the UCS one and we end up getting nothing new . its general shape is exactly the same as 4505. Only a few improvements have been made, like the cover-ups of the holes on the sides and the addition of a few greebles on the mandibles, but apart from that, there's nothing much to get me to replace my 4505 with that one... On the onther hand, that Sith Infiltrator and those podracers look fantastic compared to the old ones. Especially the SI... The Clone Wars, I couldn't care less, so I won't comment and as for the Geonosian Starfighter, I'll wait for better pics. But so far, it seems bulkier than the previous one and loses that sleek factor of the original. Granted, I don't understand the logic of the EU. But then why is he referred to as Greedo in Episode 1? Repeatedly. Actually, he's always been Wald in Episode 1. Greedo was supposed to appear later in a deleted scene where Anakin punches him in the face after the race but GL thought it would confuse the audience (his basic excuse for anything good he decides to scrap ) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 Well, the Sith Infiltrator also comes with a Naboo Royal Guard and Qui-Gon Jinn - Obi-Wan won't be in it. And uh, the Republic Frigate comes with Eeth Koth and Quinlan Vos. ~ General Magma I would say that's Captain Panaka, not just any Royal Guard. I'm thinking it's okay that there's only one generic Ewok- it's not like they're that distinguishable and there were no generics in Battle of Endor. Quote
