KimT Posted December 29, 2010 Author Posted December 29, 2010 Was the rumour about the magnet sets being glued ever confirmed? Yeah - I've made a few inquiries and it seems it's back to the discussion on what's included in TLG's license and what's not included. Hasbro has the figure license and as such TLG isn't allowed to sell figs - which is why we lost the minifig packs several years back. And since the magnets weren't glued, someone pointed out that they were figure packs. Hence glueing is back and it'll strike all magnets produced by TLG, because TLG wont have any differences. If people can't buy unglued Star Wars magnets, then no magnets should be unglued. Don't blame Star Wars - blame the license and Mr L. There's still plenty of unglued magnets to buy though. It's only all new magnets - those that are produced now and during the past month or so. It does include all though - so buying a magnet set that's been here for a long time wont prevent the magnets from being glued. It's time to stock up and risk buying glued magnets - in a few weeks or months it's all gone. Quote
Supersonic Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Do we have any rumors about new magnet sets? There should be some this spring, right? Quote
commdr_neyo Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Do we have any rumors about new magnet sets? There should be some this spring, right? Nope, no rumors yet, most of the times the magnet sets don't have rumors, the pictures just suddenly appear. Unless I missed something Quote
Stardusty Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I thought that MW's JSF was Spring release but it is already listed on German LEGO shop (price 40 euros). So, does anyone has it? When are we going to get a review? If someone owns one I would be grateful if he/she makes a review. Quote

Plus the first post clearly states that the 7868 and 7869 sets are both January releases. Why oh why don't you guys check up on the first post just once in a while?! Quote

Legoman Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Do we have any rumors about new magnet sets? There should be some this spring, right? As others have said, Magnet sets (along with pens, clocks, watches and all other 'gear') tend to just appear unexpectedly. Keep in mind, however, that all magnet sets will be glued next year, so most people won't even care when they do come out Quote

Legoman Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Correction. I think all magnet sets being produced as I type this, are being glued. True, But 'officially' All non-glued magnet sets are to be gone by Jan 1st - in other words, there are still some Non-glued sets around for sale Quote

Darth Baboon Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I noticed a distinct lack of new sets for the original trilogy... why is that? Some shift in focus for TLG? Quote
BrickArtist Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 I noticed a distinct lack of new sets for the original trilogy... why is that? Some shift in focus for TLG? It's caused by the recent clone-wars show, the kids like it, the kids like lego, and now it's pusing ot/pt sets to 1, 2, if we are lucky 3 sets a wave. Quote

Yep. I wish LEGO would remember that anyone who plays a Star Wars video game nowadays would know all the Original Trilogy and Prequel ships already (as well as some Expanded Universe ships, but I guess they've learned some kind of lesson from the TIE Crawler and TIE drone). The LEGO Group's ignorance of video games is beginning to annoy me. Quote

The LEGO Group's ignorance of video games is beginning to annoy me. TLG tries to sell EU sets but they all sell horribly, so naturally they rarely make them. I wish they'd give a ship like the Outrider a chance before they stop EU sets altogether. Quote
deters Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 (edited) You know what I miss in the 2011 Star Wars release are animals. No Bantha or a new Dewback (old version is hard to get). Last year we had the Tauntaun in the first release and Wampa in the second. Hopefully we get a big set with them. Earlier we saw pictures with brown peaces from that guy who designs the Lego Star Wars boxes. A new Jawa tank with a Bantha would be nice. If not, I can live with the June sets we allready know. Oddibossity Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Hmm that's an interesting point about the animals. However I am not too fond of this wave. The scenery in endor attack is a bit meh and I already have a speeder. Only two ewoks and one measly scout trooper doesn't do it for me. The designs on the MF and podracers look good, but too much money... As a personal fan of obscure ships, I will definitely be getting the cute little Geonosian Speeder. The Dathomir speeder is neither obscure or cute- just plain ugly. Does anyone know of any reference pics on wookiepedia etc.? it's good the sith infiltrator got a revamp but it is now TOO BLOCKY! 'Odd' out. Afterthought: The figs are all so GOOD though... Quote
commanderneyo Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Not sure if this ARF Trooper Image was linked Yet Quote
CF Mitch Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Not sure if this ARF Trooper Image was linked Yet Ehm, no offence. But I think we've all seen good enough images of it already, and I believe most of us already even own the set As for the sets... I'm loving Mace Windu's JSF, will definitely buy that one. For the summer wave I'd really like the Geonosis Starfigher, if only for Ki-Adi Mundi I'd like the Republic Frigate as well, but that one is far too large and expensive Regard, CF W Quote

Lol, review already up It's a nice set, got it myself - not as bland as claimed Back on the magnet topic - I'm strangely for this I buy the sets when they come out - and it's a slap in the face to see those same minifigs in a £10 pack a few months later when I paid £50+ for them Besides, they were rubbish Chinese plastic - just contaminates bricklink, you don't know what you're getting Edited December 30, 2010 by TheBrickHitHouse Quote

None of the stores in my area are carrying it yet, and I refuse to pay shipping when I can wait a month and avoid it. At any rate, I don't remember seeing that particular photo of the ARC Trooper, so thank you, commanderneyo. Quote

But it probably is Well, yeah, but if it wasn't then it'd have to be a 10xxx set, and unless TLG decided to have another go at a $40 UCS set, it wasn't big enough. But who knows, maybe it's a bunch of Tuskens on Banthas as a Fall release. Quote
