General Magma Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 There is only one version of Ceremony Luke. It's just that in some of the minifigures the paint layers haven't gone on properly and hence have caused the white pupils/ no white pupils variants. And what is this, then? There is a white pupil variant. They changed it with the release of Luke's landspeeder, a bit after the arrival of pupiled SW figures - hence the use of Luke's new head. ~ General Magma Quote
KimT Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Yup that's right. The new white pupil heads are here to stay. Quote
KingDom Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Keep in mind, all we got new last time was a torso. I think TLG is gonna, want to make a cheap, easy, fig. To be mass produced and given away. No new molds. I suppose you're probably right. I think they're going to continue on with the celebration theme, though. I'm not gonna judge getting the book on the figure though, my big question is how updated this will be. I hope it's at least got all of the figures from the summer wave otherwise I certainly won't be getting it. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 possible, yet unlikely. I don't think kids would by a book for a band member. This is just becoming a minifig wishlist now. Yeah, it is, and I don't want anything from the Cantina, it just decreases the chances that TLG will see a need to rerelease the cantina itself. Quote
The Legonater Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I was just thinking, last time we had Celebration Luke because the book celebrated the 10th anniversary of SW LEGO, and there were no plans to release it anyways. Since this is a minifigure book, I'm thinking they'll use a fig that's been wanted for a long time, like a new Padme fig. Quote
KimT Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Why? Don't we get a new Padme in the Sith Infiltrator set? Nah! I think they'll go classic instead. A new Vader, Emperor or Clone Wars Anakin. Perhaps we'll even get a Han Solo from the Medal Ceremony to go with Luke? Quote
The Legonater Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Why? Don't we get a new Padme in the Podracer set? Well, possibly. All we know right now is that we get a flesh version of the old one. Quote

And we just got a new palpie in the 'Theta'. Awards Han is very plausible, but I'm gonna put my money on a rebel general, not one of the main characters, but a leader. Quote
Navy Trooper Fenson Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The book says its figure is exclusive and in the last book they explained that they chose the Yavin Luke figure because they probably would´ve never released him otherwise. I guess they continue to use figures of scenes that probably never get released otherwise. Vader and Palpatine have enough redesigns and are already in their best versions in current sets. Han Solo would be fitting, but it´s not really a figure that makes one go "woooow", just a regular Han with medal... The figure also probably won´t use new molds, it probably doesn´t make up the costs. Padmé would be perfect choice for a situation like this. We only got the Tatooine version of her and that one is not as useful as a white catsuit Padmé would be, or one in any of the thirty dresses she had. But that would also require new molds or taking one that only fits just now. Guessing the right figure seems to be an impossible task, there are just too many characters and none of them seem obvious... I just preordered it now on Amazon, mostly for the fig. If it turns out to be something as lame as Han Solo with medal printing I can just cancel it. Quote

Forresto Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I don't think we need anything - I merely state what I believe we could be getting. I agree with KimT. Anyways not all of us have got the new vader (sets he's been in either too expensive or not interesting enough). My two Vaders are from 2000 Quote
Delta 38 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I believe there are two versions of Ceremony Luke. White pupils and no white pupils. Which do you have? Oh, I actually was talking about Luke from his landspeeder. I don't actually own the book, but I noticed that the minifigs contained had the same eyebrow "problem". It would ruin the effect. It's like on the new ARC-170 where the minifig arm is show on a sticker to represent the window- it's just not the same as the transparent window from the old one. Wait, really? So that's what it was! I thought it was some squadron symbol or something. Quote
The Legonater Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Wait, really? So that's what it was! I thought it was some squadron symbol or something. I had figured it was just some design the pilots would've printed on. The thought of it being a window never occured to me. Quote

Hi,everyone. My first post here. I have Luke from the landspeeder set and the one coming with the book. Faces are exactly the same. Both with white pupils and brown eyebrows. Quote

marc34 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 (edited) You have the one of the books that was produced after Luke was given pupils. I have the book fig, and he has no pupils. I agree. I bought the book recently. Other versions may exist. I have to say I feel Ok with the white pupils treatment by the way. I just hope they could redo Leia face from Battle of Endor. Her eyes are just two very small dots. Edited January 4, 2011 by marc34 Quote
djmangunz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Wow, that book looks great. Thanks djmangunz. Blogged Not a problem. Just trying to help my fellow fans out. Quote
The_Box Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 My guess is going in the direction that its not going to be Leia or Padme as the mystery figure. You may ask why. The reason would be that these books and the actual theme itself is geared towards boys and boys don't like having girl mini figures. I wouldn't mind Padme or Leia but after seeing firsthand that boys went for the male CMs more than the female CMs like the Hula Girl and Witch from series 3 and 2 respectively proves my point. Quote

Awards Han is very plausible, but I'm gonna put my money on a rebel general, not one of the main characters, but a leader. Isn't the Theta Palpy the same as the one in the DS? Wait, really? So that's what it was! I thought it was some squadron symbol or something. I had figured it was just some design the pilots would've printed on. The thought of it being a window never occured to me. yea me neither..that's just...wow Yeah- the Hand squadron. It's more obvious when you've owned the '05 one. Quote
BrickArtist Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Isn't the Theta Palpy the same as the one in the DS? Yes, but I meant we just got him, in a set being currently produced. As for the hand thing, I think its because of how weak the printing was on the 05 edition, it's so faded. I would prefer a clear stickered trans piece. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I'd certainly like to see a Clone Wars Padme come with the book. LEGO has never taken the opportunity to make her so far, and I can't really see a situation where she would fit into a set all that well. On the other hand, we don't know what the future of the CW series will bring, so a good situation may arise. In that case, perhaps they may make a CW C-3PO. I can't see why they would ever put him in a set, s he may be a good candidate, although then again he's not that big of a character (but I'd like to see a CW design for him). Only time will tell I suppose. Quote
