January 26, 201114 yr Agreed... hard to swoosh the podracer if the chassis is only connected to the engine with a few random strings or tubing pieces. The technic beams are typically used to increase structural strength, and the clear ones will keep them from looking like this! or this. Is it just me or do some of you hope that Obi Wan on the box for the podracers is just a prelim? It's been bugging me as to why he would be there.
January 26, 201114 yr or this. Is it just me or do some of you hope that Obi Wan on the box for the podracers is just a prelim? It's been bugging me as to why he would be there. Or this. I really hope that they just used a spare Qui-Gon from the Consular as a stand-in. And forgot to give him a green lightsaber.
January 26, 201114 yr just a quote from one our members of the BA - Some lovely new Star Wars sets and minifigs that you'll kill for. There were transparent technic beams (stud-less) in two of the Star Wars sets! I think that we all agree that the Podracer set has the technic beams, but what's the other one? My guess is one of the bigger sets like the Consular or the Falcon.
January 26, 201114 yr I think that we all agree that the Podracer set has the technic beams, but what's the other one? My guess is one of the bigger sets like the Consular or the Falcon. He might have seen both Anakin and Sebulba's podracers and acknowledged them as two different sets.
January 26, 201114 yr He might have seen both Anakin and Sebulba's podracers and acknowledged them as two different sets. I think this is most plausible, I can't see another set needing a clear technic bar, i'm waiting for pics to be leaked
January 27, 201114 yr Advent calendars? Interesting. I wonder if they saw any hints of the Star Wars one? I'm pretty sure I've read they're will be one (7958). I'm looking forward to the new MF but the price tag is a bit high. I emailed Lego and they said they expected it to be £130-150, but couldn't promise anything.
January 27, 201114 yr I'm pretty sure I've read they're will be one (7958). Er, it's in the first post. That means KimT is convinced there is sufficient evidence to prove it exists, and so far as we're concerned it is confirmed unless we hear otherwise from a similarily trusted source.
January 27, 201114 yr Brickset Report of the New Star Wars sets. "No less that nine Star Wars sets featuring a whole raft of new minfigs 'to die for' including a new Darth Maul, Savage Opress (wasn't he great in the latest episode of Clone Wars!) and Sebulba and Watto which are much improved on their previous incarnation. The Millennium Falcom looked pretty much like the older minifig versions: it still looked a bit rubbish, IMO. However the pod racers (Sebulba and Anakin's) were much improved on the old set. As you may have noticed in the databse there's going to be a Star Wars advent calendar. I'm not going to spoil any surprises and tell you what's in it, but needless to say it was excellent." EDIT: So he saw 9 Sets? Those would be the 7 we saw Prelim pics for plus two more. I'm assuming they were the Naboo Fighter and Hoth Echo Base Sets which might mean they are not exclusives but (Correct me if i'm wrong) are Exclusives normally shown at Toy Fair? He also mentioned the advent calender so maybe only one of the sets was shown. Personally I hope it was the Echo base. Can't wait for pics.
January 27, 201114 yr He said no fewer than nine sets. That means there could be a tenth and he just didn't remember. Or that the Advent Calendar wasn't included in that tally. Or that one of the two other sets is an exclusive not shown.
January 27, 201114 yr While better than nothing, I'll be extremely disappointed if there's no pics of Echo Base.
January 27, 201114 yr Video review of london toy fair http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12280569 No glimpses of the sets, though.
January 27, 201114 yr Someone said earlier in the thread that it was probably so it could be taken off to put hats and caps and other head accecoires on him. I think it actually look okay.
January 27, 201114 yr Is the spikey part of his head a head gear part like a hat? It would be cheaper to make a new hat than a whole new head after all
January 27, 201114 yr Even though I expected that hat thing, Maul and Savage just got ten times worse. Lightsaber hilt looks good, but remember that Maul from LSW1 had that same hilt, and we never got it in a set.
January 27, 201114 yr Author It would be cheaper to make a new hat than a whole new head after all Except we've gotten plenty of new head molds lately. Remember all those SP3 aliens? Meh!
January 27, 201114 yr Hmm.. I've got mixed feelings about the figure. Overall, it looks meh. The head looks ok, but the way they did the horns on the head; a hat?..Horrible. Only good thing is that you can remove it to place on a hood, but hmm.. The horns are way too small. The only thing I like about it is the armor plate. I could just put my custom Savage's head onto the torso, and there we go. Now if only we could get sneak peeks for the other figures.. ~ General Magma Edited January 27, 201114 yr by General Magma
