February 23, 201114 yr I just learned today that the Advent Calendar will be 249,- Danish Crownes, which usually means around 24.99 USD. Usually, not every time though... One thing's for sure, it'll be pricier than the regular advent calendars. That's license for you. I remember reading somewhere that it will be $10 Canadian more expensive than the regular City/Castle ones, so that means this will be $39.99 USD/$49.99 CAD

February 23, 201114 yr I remember reading somewhere that it will be $10 Canadian more expensive than the regular City/Castle ones, so that means this will be $39.99 USD/$49.99 CAD Sounds more likely than $25, especially with 7 minifigs (no, a battle droid is not a minifig in terms of part cost.)
February 23, 201114 yr The City and Kingdoms Advents last year were 34.99 so I doubt that a Star Wars will be less than 39.99
February 23, 201114 yr A couple of nice things about the Scimitar no one's pointed out yet... Hey, the nose does open up! Yes! Brickbuilt engines at last(though they're just stickers, but that's a quick fix). Landing gear is nice, but the bottom really looks unfinished. Anyone else reminded of this guy...? He means ground battles. Well, we could get starship battlepacks in the future (MINI ships, of course) which could be... interesting. It would definitely be a way to get all the capital ships we haven't had (EF76, Gallofree, and Executor, to name a few) - but I suppose that's a discussion for another thread.
February 23, 201114 yr Currently, there are two Hoth battlepacks. Since Endor is the second major battle in the OT, I think there will be two Endor-Battlepacks sooner or later. I hope so. is the Star Wars license still set to expire at the end of the year? If so I hope it gets picked up again.
February 23, 201114 yr Author I hope so. is the Star Wars license still set to expire at the end of the year? If so I hope it gets picked up again. No -it's been renewed.
February 23, 201114 yr Is the magnet set with Ben Kenobi, a Tie-fighter pilot, and an AT-AT driver already known? Link.
February 23, 201114 yr Is the magnet set with Ben Kenobi, a Tie-fighter pilot, and an AT-AT driver already known? Link. That's new. Dunno how I feel about that - you don't need more TIE pilots than fighters, and the AT-AT driver is in the BP already. Ben is nice, but he's in the Landspeeder...honestly, this is another rather disappointing magnet set. Where are Aayla, Shaak Ti and Saesee?

Shaak, Saesee, and Aayla will probably remain expensive and exclusive for a little while. No sense putting out a magnet set so soon if you want people to buy the set itself.
February 23, 201114 yr No -it's been renewed. Thank God, Do you know for how long? I tried to find the info and could not. Thanks for the reply.

So don't need to worry if they got in a magnet set. Edited February 23, 201114 yr by what
February 23, 201114 yr Thank God, Do you know for how long? I tried to find the info and could not. Thanks for the reply. I think I read it was ten years, but I'm not at all sure. isn't I heard that all magnet set release onward can't be separate from their magnet bases? So don't need to worry if they got in a magnet set. They can be separated with a bath in hot water.
February 23, 201114 yr Why do people buy the magnet sets them attempt to separate the magnet damaging the figure as they do it... ...why are people so determined not to use bricklink? It's hardly as if the minifigs with magnet sets are that expensive on bricklink... Damaged chinese plastic minifig + 2 other figs you don't want or bricklink the figure for a few dollars. Hmmm. Where do you think most of the minifigs on Brinklink are coming from? Then you have to factor in shipping cost if it's not part of a greater order. But yes, I'm opposed to magnet minifigs in general, especially ones that haven been glued.
February 23, 201114 yr Author KimT, you wouldn't happen to have the Danish prices for the other Star Wars sets aswell? Nope, sorry about that.
February 23, 201114 yr Is the magnet set with Ben Kenobi, a Tie-fighter pilot, and an AT-AT driver already known? Link. So does this mean that TLG is getting rid of old Tie Pilot stock or have they started a new production run just for a magnet set?

Uhm on bricklink Aayla is 20 bucks. Not that cheap. The figure isn't damaged, and usually the other figs are decent.
February 23, 201114 yr So does this mean that TLG is getting rid of old Tie Pilot stock or have they started a new production run just for a magnet set? The minifigures that come in the magnet sets are in no way related to the stock of figures made for regular sets. The magnet set figures come from a completely different factory, which is why you will see complaints about a difference in quality (and sometimes coloring/details) from time to time. I don't think the above would be any different now that the minifigures are glued.

I don't think the above would be any different now that the minifigures are glued. I know that the magnet figs are produced separately in China but isn't there usually some correlation between the magnet figs and minifigs available in sets? eg. Han, Paploo, Scout Trooper - 8038, and C-3PO, Leia, Admiral 'Ackmar' - 8092, 10198 & 7754 all had a cross-over period in availability, I'm sure there's others too. Maybe there's plenty that prove otherwise - I haven't been long enough out of my dark-age to know different. The Tie-Pilot just seems very random though - I never trust things that seem random - maybe I'm paranoid. EDIT: Those figs don't look too good once they've come off the magnet . February 24, 201114 yr I agree that the magnet sets are related to recent sets, but that doesn't mean LEGO is 'getting rid of stock,' since the stock for the magnet sets is created just for the magnet sets.

On the other hand, this magnet set will let us AFOLs update our TIE pilot stock with the new helmet (it is the one from 8087, right? Chinese plastic or not, that helmet certainly looks better than the old black stormtrooper helmet). Which reminds me - despite minifigures being the main selling point this year, Vader is still neckless. Meanwhile, Sebulba and the Ewoks get completely new molds...
February 24, 201114 yr Author Superkalle got these at LEGOWorld in Copenhagen. I wonder why and how I missed them?
