starwarsfanatic Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Cool sets! At last, Jar-Jar Binks gets a release, after about a decade out of action. And why? He's an awesome character! I hope the Battle of Naboo set is TPM. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 For all we know the naboo set could be based on the episode: Blue shadow virus. Probably not. No Padme, no Obi-Wan, no Anakin, no Ahsoka. Quote
legolandia Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Probably not. No Padme, no Obi-Wan, no Anakin, no Ahsoka. No Padme would be a bit disappointing but as far as Obi Wan and Anakin goes we have loads of them and don't need any more. And ahsoka never changes her outfits so there would be no point in getting her either. Quote
Zzz Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 They might make an additional Theed Palace set in the future. Wouldn't be the first time they make sets that belong together, but releasing them after another. Ok, I did some research in the internet and what some on this page call so easily "phase 1.5 trooper" - can someone please elaborate? Cause as far as I know the normal, standard uniform changes only from 1 to 2 to Stormtrooper. They started using their colours though for showing their taskforce, not their rank anymore. And since they started doing it, still wearing phase 1, you could depict this as 1.5 - what would make the bomb squad a 1.5, their colour doesn't show their rank. Another possible explanation for "1.5" that I found is that the specialised uniforms could be meant, like eg. ARF or Swamp Trooper or Marines. Uniforms that came out while the standard trooper still had his phase 1, but lasted till the establishment of the Empire. So.. might someone please explain. Cause I didn't find ANY evidence at all about a standard uniform between phase 1 and 2. Thanks a lot! Quote

They don't care how many times these three have been seen, they'd throw them in again anyways. Besides, we'd likely have a Vindi in it, and there wasn't any big carriers in that episode. lightningtiger Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I feel Lego pick more action packed episodes - huge battle scenes or Jedi vs Sith (or the good general) to go with as a play set more than simple vig building.....kids wan't action between the good and evil.....the Blue Shaddow Virus episode was lighter on the action component (still high in the drama stakes though) and it was mostly set in the underground lair of that evil doctor. So it was not like a classic laser cannons blazing, lightsabers clashing, it felt more like a Star Trek episode, but hey that's just my opinion. I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Jangu Fett Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 The Naboo set is sounding like a upset, no new Ep1 Obi Wan, Padme. Not even Boss Nass.?.? Hopefully it will be better then, what we are expecting. For the second half I'm really hoping TLC will release that Yavin Temple playset, that was shown in the back of the SW Lego Dictionary. I'm also hoping to see the armed version of the Sep. Shuttle. Again from the SWLD. Wishful thinking, but, still.... Quote

Jangu Fett Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 (edited) Yes, I know, but thing could change. Wishful thinking, maybe if we write to them asking for it.?.? Maybe we'll see it. Edited August 13, 2010 by Jangu Fett Quote

I think with all the prince of persia sets that are collecting dust at all retail outlets in the us, we will get alot of sets with the newer colors in tan and dark tan I can see a great theed palace in the future, with tall windows and a few naboo soldiers it would be awesome and how about a boss nass and the other nute gunray looking guy Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Here's what i'm hoping for- a 1.5 trooper, RC, and two ARFs. For this year's BP? I think based on the unofficial 'reliable' sources that the Clone Trooper BP will consist of two regular clone troopers, and ARF, and a Bomb Squad trooper. The '1.5 trooper', name coined by yours truely, Is a trooper that will be feature in Season 3. Take a look at the Season 3 rumour thread for more details. Yup the so-called "1.5 trooper" will be seen in the upcoming Season 3 and the name is not official. But I agree in with Zzz that this trooper (with his new helmet design) is a specialized clone trooper variant (like the ARFs) and not just a regular clones. I think it's a ARC trooper, based on the trailer, his distinct gear, and the file name of the source pic. As such, it's highly unlikely it'll be one (or two) of the rumored two regular clones in the CT BP. Maybe in some other BPs, but not now. Quote

I think based on the unofficial 'reliable' sources that the Clone Trooper BP will consist of two regular clone troopers, and ARF, and a Bomb Squad trooper. I know- my idea is heavily enforced by Season 3, But I still hope it's true. The ARF will be sweet, But a Bomb Squad tropper looks prety much like a 212th trooper... And we've seen a few of those before (I think) Quote
Delta 38 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Clearly you don't realise how low TLG's standerds are (Or at least how they seem to be). They don't care how many times these three have been seen, they'd throw them in again anyways. Besides, we'd likely have a Vindi in it, and there wasn't any big carriers in that episode. Yes, I agree. It's a bit annoying, unless you don't own them or if they are good for making armies with, like clones, stormtroopers... Either way, as with pretty much every set next year, these are most likely preliminary images. They could change things or add things here and there (which I hope means a chance at more minifigs). There's still one puzzling thing about the Naboo set. What is the droid carrier? I think it might be this: It fits the description somewhat. These were seen in the invasion of Naboo, and from what Klaus-Dieter said by it being bigger, I'm guessing that he meant it was larger than the one in the droid battlepack. He also says that there is a minimum of four droids. This might be possible if the vehicle was at an angle, so the remaining droids on board were obscured... I don't know. That's what I think it might be. Obviously, if it is this, then it will be a lot smaller to fit into the set. Quote

Undoubtedly, it'll depend on the Season itself, but I think it would be reasonable to say we'll get either a beefed up Droid BP or an MTT rack on speeder, like the above vehicle. The only problem is that the MTT rack in the 2007 MTT set was completely out of proportion- a fact that could be overlooked in that set, but the flaws will be easily spotted in a open transport. I'd count on flick-fire missiles, as well. and the other nute gunray looking guy Lott Dod, Senator for the Trade Federation, or Rune Haako, Settlement Officer and Lieutenant. XimenaPaulina Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) Agreed. We AT-RT fanatics need an ARF Trooper. Very much seconded. I just hope the ARF trooper will come with a new helmet mold, and not just a printed biker scout trooper helmet (like what I did). Considering the three other clones in the CT BP will use regular clone helmets, it's very likely we'll have the new ARF helmet. (fingers-crossed). And I just realized now, maybe the small vehicle in the CT BP will be the CTT AT-RT? - Decent-sized walker, relatively few parts, though a blatant repeat of the previous Clone Walker BP. What's the use of an ARF trooper without an AT-RT right? So the CT BP might include: - ARF Trooper with the CTT AT-RT - Bomb Squad Trooper with bomb squad kit - 2 regular clones with weapons Edited August 14, 2010 by KielDaMan Quote
djmangunz Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 That sounds like a solid battle pack to me. The AT-RT would be a nice change from battle pack vehicles that look like an afterthought to the set. Quote
Smack Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I for one have to say that I really hope there is only one regular clone included in the BP. I think that two ARF troopers would be really nice and it might make more sense considering the new helmet mold. Just a thought but I had to put it out there. Not sure about any of the other sets (besides the Mando BP ) yet because of the lack of pics so far, and I do hope we get more sets than what is thought to be so far. Quote

Perhaps there will be a newer version of this, since Lego isn't shy with the remakes. I just hope it's good looking. At least we know it's not a giant H-Ship Carrier. Quote
RileyC Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 (edited) Im guessing like Delta 38 it will be like the 2001 droid carrier. It would be a more detailed version, excluding the megaphone blasters and just slightly bigger. Just like this years Droid Tri Fighter there will be a new pilot droid with the same kind of printing the rocket droid had with the circle on the torso and on the head. Just as its supposed to be. Edited August 14, 2010 by Roncanator Quote
Delta 38 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Maybe. But we already got that exact vehicle in the MTT in 2007: Hmm. That actually might make it more likely to be in the set. After all, it's been a few years since the MTT, and there have been quite a few remakes recently. Of course, if the set is based on the Clone Wars, then I have no idea. Seeing as I don't own the vehicle, I wouldn't mind if the transport was this. As for the rack being off-scale, the transport itself would be if it was in the set due to its "large battlepack" size. Quote
CommanderCody77 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 I really hope that the star wars battlepack will include at least 4 clone troopers as I am need of more of them. Also, will the Naboo Battle have Theed Guards? Quote
The Legonater Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 There's still one puzzling thing about the Naboo set. What is the droid carrier? I think it might be this: That actually makes sence.
