Few questions about the new sets.

1. How many peices will the sets have?

2. What features will they feature?

3. Are there any clear pictures of the SE sets?

Thanks.

1. We have to wait for the N. American boxes, since the Euro ones don't state piece count (for some odd reason  )

2. There are flick fires on the T-6 and the thrusters on the Halo rotate

3. Not yet.

Printed legs in the clone battle pack has taken a 'meh' set to a must have - plan on getting a small army of them

Why can't we get printed legs for every clone?!?

Yeah I would have a TON of them if that happens.

Because it would cost a lot of money to print the legs on every Clone in the new BP and they will probably sell well enough without every minifig having printed legs.

Well, we have seen Vos in TCW, but there's no sign of Saesee Tin yet - so if they had wanted to cut someone in order not to spoil something from the show it would have been Tin. No, I think the reason, Vos is not in the T6 is simply that they saved him for another set, probably one about the episode with Ziro and him. Or they just thought that three new figs in one set is too much.

Nooo, cut Tiin, blasphemy...

Besides Saesee Tiin will appear in the Clone Wars before the season is over. As well as the fact that Tiin is a slightly more important character than Vos (he was in all the PT movies after all, while Vos was only retconned into TPM and cut from RotS).

Don't get me wrong, I really really want a Quinlan Vos but not at the expense of another very nice character.

Regarding Vos being cut in the T-6 shuttle, at first I was a bit disappointed because of the teaser prelims, but it's quite understandable considering we'll already be getting two new jedis and another one would be too much to ask from TLG IMO. Let's not be like spoiled brats complaining about not getting him. Let's be thankful we'll be having Saesee and Shaak, and I'm pretty sure Vos will appear in a future set soon (I'm betting in the second 2011 wave).

I guess they tried it a few years back with Cloud City and Imperial Inspection, but it was too expensive to continue. Now that they have the China machines going full blast, a lot of the minifgs are getting makeovers.

I know we have our own preferences, but like what I've said before, I personally don't like leg (and arm) prints for clones, it's just too much details for a minifig IMO. I guess the Bomb Squad Trooper having those white diamond prints on their legs is more of a special case (since it won't look right if plain orange legs were just used) rather than a trend that we'll see in the future. I just don't see TLG doing those leg prints for the regular set minifigs. I believe those China machines are made specifically for the Collectible Series and magnet minifigs and not for the regular sets.

The Ewoks, Tauntaun, Grievous, and presumanbly the Gungan all come in 'China bags'.

Isn't that because of their complicated molds?

And I agree with Kiel Da Man, too complicated if they all had full arm and leg printings

Yes. It's cheaper to make a complicated part in China rather than in Denmark.

Because those are all 'specialised' minifigs. We wouldn't expect such special treatment to generic clone minifigs would we?

Great to see new and clearer pics  . My opinions on each set are the next:

Clone Trooper Battlepack: This is a sure winner, great minifig variety and a nice detailed vehicle.

Mandalorian Battlepack: I don't really know what to do about this set, you know, I don't really like this armor design, the color mainly, after the great new Boba Fett minifigure this ones pale in comparison. I don't know why the TLC wasted pieces giving us that ugly little turret, I would have prefer those piece being used in the speeder bike by adding detail to it instead of giving us half done models in both instances.

Battle of Naboo: Looks really cool, the new Jar Jar and Gungan Soldier minifigs almost make for the price of the set just by themselves.

V-wing Fighter: That silver Astromech minifigure must be the most awesome the TLC has released, enough said.

Bounty Hunter's Ship: This one doesn't look as great now, the minifigures are quite boring too.

T-6 Shuttle: Shaak Ti and Saesee Tinn are both amazing minifigures I just would have liked to own them as non-CW minifigs...

But the jet troopers use standard clone torsos. Removing the back printing would mean more work and cost more since they'd have to print a new batch of torsos just for the one set.

Good point.

There were also though the Hoth battle pack rebels with no back printing and backpacks and the Mando's will also be in a battle pack with jet packs that would cover the printing so there wouldn't be much use in them printing it. Though that is dependent on how many have jet packs I guess because if only one does then there would be a high possibility of back printing as they are all identical.

I think it would be unfair to compare the Death Watch Mandos to the new Boba Fett, of course the new Boba fig will stand out because it is supposed to stand out, considering Boba is a main SW character while the blue Mandos are just generic soldiers, and hence their design might not be as detailed as Boba's.

Regarding the speeder bike, I think it's pretty much spot-on, so adding additional parts might make it larger and/or out-of-proporrtion. I think the little turret and mini-cannon-thingy were just add-ons since the Mando speeder bike is relatively smaller compared to other BP vehicles, so they have to make additional elements to meet the piece count.

In the snowtrooper's case, his backpack is attached to his helmet, so the backpack always covers the back of the torso and thus the snowtroopers have never had back printing. For the clones, the regular ones obviously don't have backpacks so the normal minifig has to have back printing.

I'm being optimistic. Honestly, the whole China plastic thing never bothered me after they stopped using the brittle plastic. It's not like they're MegaBloks, and I would gladly have SW BPs made in China just like the Castle ones are if it means not having to spend a fortune on BL to get a good number of clone/stormtrooper printed legs.

Really? You want crappy, translucent Star Wars figures in normal sets just so you can get some damn leg prints? I don't see the logic… I'd be totally pissed if extremely sub-par figures start to show up in normal sets.

And, anyway, minifigures that come in normal system sets are not made in the same place as the collectible minifigures, blister-packaging "battle packs" or magnet sets. Even these new leg-printed Clones aren't any different; look at all the other current lines with leg-printed figures and you'll see that it is quite a trend for LEGO these days. Just like they seem to have some new machines in their regular factories that make back-printing easy, they have ones for leg printing too.

Secondly, the little bags do not necessarily mean China; there have been sets with those little bags that had no components made in China, and sets without those little bags that do have components made in China. As a trend, things do not come in those bags because the moulds are any more "complicated" than others, but because they have intricate printing over moulded surfaces.

It would be a fine assumption to think that the Gungan heads may come in those bags, but leg-printed Clones are not coming from the Chinese "other-figs" factories.

I hope you're wrong (in a good way) that they won't even consider the possibility of doing the SW BPs in China. I, personally, am bothered by the sub-par quality of Chinese lego plastic relative to the regular pieces. Yeah, they might be improving, but there will always be that lacking "X-factor" that normal lego plastic have. I'm sorry if this is slowly becoming a bit off-topic, but if ever TLG decides to make leg/arm prints for regular minifigs, I hope they won't compromise the quality of the plastic.

Sorry if this has been posted, but I didn't see it anywhere. I was at TRU this past Saturday in Ft Wayne, Indiana and I didn't see any of the new star Wars sets pictured so far, but I did see this one. I am pretty sure its a new one. Its item number 30005 called Imperial Speeder Bike. It only has 33 pieces and comes in one of those baggies.

wasnt this a promotion in the UK last year or this year?

I'm not saying I'd prefer China plastic minifigs; if they give us Denmark figs with leg printing, that'd be a lot better. What I mean is that the China plastic like that uses in the magnets and collectible minifigs hasn't really bothered me that much, and if we can get printed pieces akin to the Ewok head molds, then I wouldn't really mind. I'm not saying I want China plastic minifigs, butnif TLG decides to use that route to make printed legs, I could accept that as an alternative to spending lots of money for the Denmark plastic ones on BL.

I am not sure, I saw it on the end cap and knew it had the same top as the new boxes so I picked it up as I thought it might be a new set I hadn't seen posted. Could be wrong though.
