You did Doc call him "That Guy" But you called him "That Kid" Here.

I guess I did. No offense intended, really. :classic:

EDIT: Wait- he's 20 and his grandfather works at TLC! Someone had kids young...

EDIT 2: Come to think of it, I remember that's why I assumed he was a kid.

I think that out of bok pics are wrong.

On T-6 out of bok picture Kenobi doesn't have lightsaber, but on box he has... :cry_happy:

They're called out of box for a reason. They built the set out of the box and took the picture. They might have put the lightsaber in the shuttle because in the instructions, Lego often tells you to put the lightsabers in the vehicle.

*cough*Vader's TIE*cough*and all the other sets that clip the lightsaber outside the ship*

Hi guys , its nighttime here. I'm tired and i'm going to sleep now. BTW , can someone find pics of Battle for Geonosis , which i care about , and MW's JSF ?

Not to be rude, but didn't someone just say a page or so back that there are none?

EDIT: Nevermind, someone asked when we'd get more pics. But there still aren't any.

And the 4500 Snowspeeder which tells you to put it beside Luke and in the Dagobah X-Wing that tells you to put it in the storage.

The Dagobah X-wing isn't a bad solution. If I remember correctly, the Incredible Cross-Sections book actually lists that area as a cargo compartment. So far, the best solution I've seen is the 2002 Delta-7, which tells you to separate the lightsaber into two pieces and stow it in the cockpit. And there's a special dip so that the lightsaber doesn't rattle around.

I always like the way they did it with the Bounty Hunter Chase set.

As a matter of fact, I watched TeSB today and I noticed that on Dagobah Luke even stores some items there in the movie itself. You can see the storage space when Luke is preparing his ship to go to Bespin and talking about Yoda about having to go, etc.

As long as they don't store light-sabers on the outside of the vehicle(like the speeder that comes with Dooku's solar sailer), I don't really mind. I'm actually happy with a good storage-compartment in the vehicle itself, so I can keep all included parts of the set together.

If LEGO had wanted to inlclude a pilot they should just have included a pilot with a regular smiley face and a helmet with blue crests, since it is not only more generic but would probably cost less to print. Not only that, Dak Ralter wore the generic helmet with blue crests so it makes sense.

Out-of-box pictures, like the sets themselves, aren't known for their 100% accuracy. I know that in some out-of-box sets pieces are either the wrong color or not attached correctly (for example, 6209 Slave I). Such small details should be negligible. Perhaps the out-of-box picture of the new V-wing has the wings attached in landing position simply because they can be.

In the past, though, the only generic Rebel Pilots have been Y-wing pilots with the gold grid on dk. grey rectangles.

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I was talking about the minifigure in this picture.

So how is Dak a generic Rebel pilot, you ask? Well, for one, he's a smiley face. But look at his helmet. How many Rebel pilots have this helmet? According to this clip, at least three, which is problably enough for LEGO to assume that it is a generic Rebel pilot's helmet.

I will add that the Y-wing pilot is, in fact, NOT a generic Rebel pilot. The pilot with that particular pilot is Dutch Vander (Gold Leader):

Um, sorry to spoil the fun conversation guys, but what does all this talk about Rebel Pilots have to do with 2011? A discussion about named characters in Battle Packs? Yeah, it happened, back in 2010. And so they don't feel like naming ARFs or specified Commanders, what's the problem? Kind of makes sense, since Senesca's helmet was very specific, while two or three or four stripes on an ARF look bloody similar, and all of the Clones have little markings, so even if this one is exactly some named character from Horn Company, who really knows?

There aren't any OT sets yet anyway, so Rebels don't really come in. Whoops, shouldn't have brought up that again now that the "no OT" complaining seems to have finally died down…

Sorry, I'll just finish up by replying to fallenangel.

I never said that Dutch was generic or that Dak wasn't. I said that in TLG's history, that's the way they were portrayed. Dak is always listed as Dak Ralter while Dutch is always that 'Y-wing pilot'. Not to say that isn't true, but no set has ever specifically listed Dutch as a minifig.

You can also do that with Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter. It doesn't tell you to in the instructions, but you can seperate his lightsaber parts and place them in the cockpit.

Hmm. Been looking at the V-Wing. Really liking the re-design (but anything could be better than the simplistic older one) but I can't see where the droid fits in. It just looks like it's covered up by a 2x4 plate. It's hard to tell because the pics aren't high-def. Ho hum. I've been warily watching this first wave for a while, and now that official pics have come out, I find myself liking them more. Still I reckon I'll wait until July/later when the next wave comes out (Geonosian Fighter, Sith Infiltrator, Endor & Geonosis BPs, Podracers and Frigate!!) as they are all great scenes from the movies. Hopefully the rumours will prove true!

Well you can put a lightsaber into practically any cockpit, it's just a matter of was it designed for that.

Source?

Why would they leave the other Mandalorian driving the vehicle weaponless?

Well, that guy either gets a regular blaster or the scope pistol, I guess.

~ General Magma

They have done it in the past doesn't mean they will give him a weapon this time.....

Also there were those type of pistols in the prelim pics a long time ago so they do exist.

I know they exist I didn't say they didn't exist?

it looks to me like the droid will fit in the back

you can see it in the back in another pic I believe

I would just be patient it will show up in a couple weeks or so

I really think most star wars sets are overpriced, so Im only get a couple.

If you can wait, I suggest keeping your eyes peeled for discounts. They are quite regular and can safe you a nice amount of money (which you can then spent on more sets).

I agree that sets seem to be priced a little steep, especially when you buy them in a retail-store it seems, but if you have some patience you can find most set for a reduced price.

Again, sorry for the off-topic

Yeah I think it will fit in the back that was one off the major complaints about the old V-Wing I would be surprised if it didn't fit in the back :classic:
