Stardusty Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 They're called out of box for a reason. They built the set out of the box and took the picture. They might have put the lightsaber in the shuttle because in the instructions, Lego often tells you to put the lightsabers in the vehicle. I know... Still, it would be stupid if only one or two jedis could put their lightsabers somewhere. I hope that there will be place for all lighsabers. How many minifigures could be placed in cockpit of T-6 shuttle? Quote

Well you can't fir all off them in the cockpit anyway so I supose only one space for one saber. Edited November 18, 2010 by Darth Jar Jar Quote

Masked Builder Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 On topic : BoN , do the BD's have straight hand? What do you mean "Straight"? Did we decide that all the Mandos have jet packs? Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 What do you mean "Straight"? Did we decide that all the Mandos have jet packs? I'm certain he means the straight BD arm, which puts the blaster upright instead of on it's side like the older, crooked BD arm. And without even looking at a picture, I am going to say yes, it is straight. I doubt TLG will ever go back to having two bent arms on any BD except those that are piloting something (like a STAP, for instance). Quote

Walter Kovacs Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Hmm, i didn't meant the regular BD arm, i know it has straight arm . I meant about the pilots? Sorry, misunderstood your question. Clearer final pics from www.superspielwaren.de . It's hard to tell from the box front, and impossible looking at the out-of-box pic, but if you look at the Minifig lineup in the lower right hand corner, it certainly looks like a bent arm. I would expect to be able to see the open hand if it were a straight arm. Hope this helps. Quote
Fallenangel Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Sorry, I'll just finish up by replying to fallenangel. I never said that Dutch was generic or that Dak wasn't. I said that in TLG's history, that's the way they were portrayed. Dak is always listed as Dak Ralter while Dutch is always that 'Y-wing pilot'. Not to say that isn't true, but no set has ever specifically listed Dutch as a minifig. Oh okay then. I thought you were saying that the LEGO Y-wing pilot actually was a generic Y-wing pilot. it looks to me like the droid will fit in the back you can see it in the back in another pic I believe I would just be patient it will show up in a couple weeks or so I thought there were only two pictures of the new V-wing (box and loose), both of which show only the front of the ship. The box pictures were generally not clear enough to determine whether the entire body fits in the back, while the loose picture suggests that the ship does not, in fact, house the entire body. And the droid shouldn't fit in the back, as I will say below. Yeah I think it will fit in the back that was one off the major complaints about the old V-Wing I would be surprised if it didn't fit in the back Why would an entire astromech droid fit in the back of the Alpha-3 Nimbus? According to the Incredible Cross-sections the droid for the V-wing is a Q7-series droid, which is spherical - they do not have a body like an R2, only a head and some repulsorlifts. It would therefore be more accurate to have just the astromech droid head on the fighter rather than trying to fit a droid body (which, by the way, is out of scale with minifigures anyway - R2-D2 was only about half as tall as Luke and the others). Another point for the 6205 V-wing... Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 t's hard to tell from the box front, and impossible looking at the out-of-box pic, but if you look at the Minifig lineup in the lower right hand corner, it certainly looks like a bent arm. I would expect to be able to see the open hand if it were a straight arm. I think that most pilots have only bent arms because they don't carry blasters. As far as I know, only the MTT pilots had straight arms, and since that was the set the straight arms debuted in, I guess TLG decided it was more cost-efficient to keep using two bent arms, or something. Why would an entire astromech droid fit in the back of the Alpha-3 Nimbus? Another point for the 6205 V-wing... While it is inaccurate, I'm pretty sure it'll fit because (a) TLG usually doesn't include the full Astromech body if it can't fit into the fighter, and (b) as you keep pointing out, since when was TLG concerned with little details of accuracy? I think they did it because they can fit in the whole body, which tends to please kids more and because no element exists for a full body of a Q7. Quote

I think they did it because they can fit in the whole body, which tends to please kids more and because no element exists for a full body of a Q7. Like I said, the droid's body doesn't fit. It looks like the plate construction there does not allow for the entire astromech's body. Look at where the droid is in this picture - right behind the clear clips on the cockpit. Now look at the same place in the loose pictures and you can clearly see black about a plate thick, on top of dark grey, meaning that there is no room for a droid body and legs there. Of course, I was wrong about the wings, so I suppose I could be wrong about this... And I will add that LEGO had managed to include an entire droid body in the 7660 N-1, although they pretty much cut out a section of the hull to do it. They also did something similar with the 7658 Y-wing and the Delta-7Bs by putting the droid in sideways rather than facing forward. Accuracy aside, I can't help but think LEGO would opt for the cheaper option when choosing between including all of an astromech droid or just including the head and saying it's supposed to be a sphere. The reason I brought up the Q7's being spherical was to point out that the lack of an entire droid body in the 6205 is not a valid complaint, since their solution is more accurate and less costly. It would be a bit like complaining that the Millennium Falcon's canopy wasn't hinged, that the new AT-AT driver is ugly, or that the new clone helmets aren't open visors like the older ones. Of course, I sort of broke this rule with the new Grievous minifigure but that was out of personal preference - I don't believe now that it constitutes a legitimate complaint. It looks like those droid pilots have two of the original "bent" droid arms to me. Quote

Clone OPatra Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 I'm not too familiar with exclusive sets - do they usually show up in stores at the same time as the regular line-up? If by exclusives you mean special editions exclusive to a single retailer, then yes, they normally show up at the same time. But remember that such things often only pertain to certain parts of the world, so this should really go in Availability. Quote
