Looking at the other star wars sets that are already on the Kiddiwinks website the new falcon has the same price point as the 8039 Venator. So whatever price the Venator is in your country should be a pretty good guide for the new falcon price. UK £100

8039 Venator R 1,984.00

7965 Millennium Falcon R 1,977.00

£100 sounds about right and keeps the price in line with the last two minifig scale models. It's piece count I'm concerned about. The 2004 model was very well priced at near 1000 pieces. Hopefully a new version will better that. If it has a lot of very small pieces, it probably could go over the 1000 piece mark, but with the current over pricing trend we could have another repeat of the 2000 set which had less than 700 parts.

Whatever the outcome, I hope something is done about the proportions. I don't mind paying a little over the odds as long as the set is actually worth it in other areas.

All I ask for is a proportioned cockpit in relation to the rest of the ship.

That was certainly the bone of contention with the last model. It's surprising just how small the Falcon's cockpit actually is up against that mandible.

EDIT: And if the cockpit is done properly (room for four figures*), the rest of the ship would have to be bigger than the last two sets, so could well be in excess of 1000 parts, and maybe more than £100.

Now you're talking UCS measurements.

If the cockpit fits one I'd be happy. Theoretically the AT-AT head should fit 3+, but it only fits one so the set is proportional, which is good. I want a set that looks good rather than plays good.

Four 'figs would be minifig scale, at which point you're back to the UCS MF.

I have a feeling it's going to have exclusive figures...

I agree, like the x-wing, i also think it will take a certain theme. People aren't gonna want to hear this...but it think it will be themed towards the hoth escape. I mean why not? a fair amount of the current OT sets are hoth, and i think we might get a hoth-gear Han.

You both say UCS because that model did indeed fit 4 figures in the cockpit. But I've been looking at the cockpit construction on both of the minifig scale models and it would seem that the 2000 model would have space for more than two figures if it was designed with a more conservative use of bricks. The trouble with that design is that it's all boxed in, even though it's twelve studs long at it's longest point. 12 studs should be enough room for two front, two back if the surrounding bricks weren't so space hogging.

The 2004 model only has a 6x2 plate for the figs to sit on, and even then they are half off. And all for the sake of a cockpit canopy that is out of scale with the rest of the ship. Since the 2000 cockpit was more in scale and had more theoretical floor space, I think it should be quite possible for Lego to design a minifig scale Falcon that can contain a proper cockpit without being much bigger than the last minifig/system scale models.

12 Minifigures? Battle Droids may be minifigures, but they're easy to made and are less worthy than a minifig like Clone trooper.

When is your birthday by the way?

In February.

So what if they are easy to made, they are still minifigures and usefull for MOCs.

I don't need to mention 8 blasters in the set and really cool Gungan shield.

I am not so excited about new MF...

I think that OT is really bad when compared to PT and TCW.

That doesn't mean that I wouldn't like to have UCS MF. :sweet:

The last minifig Falcon was Hoth-based, with the snowtrooper and E-web. They won't just repeat that, though I doubt TLG would make a ROTJ Falcon without Han - then again, the UCS and 2000 Falcons both were AHN-themed. AND they haven't released Lando too often, or the Ten Numb minifig from the 2006 B-Wing. It wouldn't be too hard to give the sustulian head a new torso and call him Nien.

What happened to this Jordan that promised us pictures by the end of last week?

Makes me a bit more sceptic about it. :sceptic:

Also, about the speederbike for "Ewok Attack": I hope it's a newly improved version..

The pedestals were too short on all previous versions, that could be fixed with a hinge bar with a 1x1 clip attached, placed onto the

place where wheels would go for a regular LEGO tri-motorcycle/bike.

Hopefully we'll be getting something new and better,

instead of the older, inaccurate speederbikes.

I think that OT is really bad when compared to PT and TCW.

No, it's more like vice versa. PT and TCW are horrible in comparison with the OT.

I hope you mixed up the three, else I'll have to highly disagree with you.

???

So what!

I don't have BD-s.

This is easy way to get 16 + 4 pilot BD.

I am happier with every cheap set LEGO produces even if only minifigures in it are BD-s.

No, I've writed my opinion.

I think I figured out why the MF is gonna be priced above the previous System sets. But I'm not sure i'm just assuming. OK its gonna have smuggling compartments (2000), hyperdrive (2004), bigger cockpit (2007) and whatever was in the others. (I never owned any of them just the MINI set.)

Yay!

More Star Wars sets!

I'm glad they're remaking some from the original trilogy, but they've sorta run out of ideas for the clone wars it seems like.

I mean really, unless the geonosian starfighter is from the clone wars they have only a few sets unlike any other already made.

Welp... that's my opinion, i guess.

Cya!

The System cockpits can be modded to fit four minifigs, but if you want everything proportionate to each other, you have to go back to UCS for a 4-person cockpit.

You're just picking. Yes, if you want 100% proportion, UCS is the only way when concerning minifigs. Even then, that cockpit was cramped and lacking much detail.

But if you look at the 2000 Falcon, it's actually much more proportionate than the 2004 model with regards to that cockpit that dwarves the rest of the ship. If the mandibles were a tad longer on the 2000 model, the proportions would have been slightly better, even if it wasn't a fully accurate model. Not that the 2004 model was that accurate. More like a Pizza gone wrong. Lego were right to attempt a redesign, but got the wrong design.

If the new Falcon could have a cockpit similar to the 2000 model, or based on plates and hinges, rather than bricks (a scaled down UCS design, like the Endor AT-ST), I think they could make it work without making the rest of the craft much bigger than what it is now on the 2000/4 models. Make it all a few studs wider, a few studs longer - it could make all the difference, and give more room for internal details like some kind of corridor that people seem to really want.

Who cares if Jordan gives the pictures or not? I don't care about any of the avg (summer) sets except the Ewok Attack. But my wallet is off on the january so even if i liked some of summer sets I wouldn't buy 'em.

Go on you know you want the Sith infiltrator

I'm gong to have to pace my money but only the V wing and the battle of Naboo for me from the winter sets.

Also did anyone fined if all the Mandos have jetpacks or not?

Well Jordan's credibility was a big concern in the case of the Millennium Falcon, since he said that the Falcon was a false rumor a while back. So if he's not credible, that adds more to the possibility of the Millennium Falcon :cry_happy: . Which is already pretty much confirmed by KimT.

I do.

For two reasons, really. First reason: I would really like to see the Ewok Attack set, and maybe the Sith Infiltrator to see how big it actually is - and if we're getting a new Maul figure or not.

Second reason: I want proof whether this Jordan is right about the new sets or not.

Is he lying? Does he even exist?

It's been the end of the week already, and we suddenly don't hear anything from commander_neyo anymore.

Well Sunday still has a long time to go yet, and maybe its Jordan who is shrinking from this not commanderneyo.

As for your other point I don't see the need for another Mole fig, the last two where perfectly fine, they even had pupils unlike most figs of the time, their torsos where accurate, the only thin I would like is a new mole lightsaber hilt. one straight, one curved, and one double length would be fine.

...Mole? I haven't seen any moles in Star Wars.

Well, if you mean Darth Maul, the Zabrak horns were missing for the first figures.

It would be nice to see a new Darth Maul head with small horns, for accuracy - it would look good, aswell.

And if they would do that, the hood probably wouldn't fit. But they could add some small holes inside the hood,

so it still fits onto the head.

And yes, it could be Jordan who doesn't want to give out pictures, but we haven't heard anything from commander_neyo recently either. He keeps quiet, for some reason..

The last two?! There is only 1 Darth Maul figure that has ever been made and included in different sets.

I fully agree. A new Darth Maul with rubber head that includes horns would look really nice. Quite a few of the old minifigures have been re-designed recently (in the Clone Wars era) and Darth Maul is well overdue for a fresh design. And that template could be also used in the future for making Savage.
