TheBrickDaddy Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 So Ventress is Dathomiri now, not Ratatakan? Either way, I doubt they'll change the minifig. Haha, you read that comic too? The nightsisters, if I remember the trailer correctly, seem to be of the same species as Assajj. I definately wouldn't count out Savage though. Quote

I definately wouldn't count out Savage though. Back when the old CW TV show was airing, I read anything and everything I could get on the characters until 2008 when everything was ruined by the worst SW movie ever. I would hate it if they made Assaj Dathomiri. Especially after Lucas' daughter claimed to do a ton of research on Ventress' background. But that's an off-topic conversation for another thread. On-topic: I guess the Dathomir Speeder could be good as a cheap way to get Ventress, but since I got the RGS I'll pass based on the info we have now. Pictures could change that. Quote

I find the best solution is to assume that everything besides the six live-action movies is not canon. None of this ridiculousness is happening like Ahsoka, the girl that is never mentioned once in Episode III, and they are not running around doing dumb things like saving baby Wicket. None of this madness is actually happening and Star Wars still has a shred of credibility. I feel better already! Now if only I could erase C3P0 being built by Anakin and R2D2 being able to fly from the PT. Quote

For me, I simply love the current Clone Wars series. It feels closest to the movies among Expanded Material stuff, and it greatly fleshes out our current characters. For example, Anakin is given much more character in the show than in the movies. What really perplexes me is the hate for Ahsoka, seems like she is hated more than Jar Jar here. I find her a great character and I don't see how she's harmed Star Wars in any way besides a lack of respect for the Jedi dress code. That's why I continue to be excited about next year's stuff. Any news on the Republic Frigate? Quote

Besides, Dathomiri are human so they'll never fool us! (Although the image of a dozen Rattataki riding rancors would be quite disturbing.) I find the best solution is to assume that everything besides the six live-action movies is not canon. Now if only I could erase C3P0 being built by Anakin and R2D2 being able to fly from the PT. I used to be like that too... then I discovered the Thrawn Trilogy, the Black Fleet Crisis, and the '03 Clone Wars cartoons. The best alternative would be to disregard everything from '99 onwards so that R2 can't fly, Hayden was never Anakin, and Chewbacca never died. But it's hard to ignore the Clone Wars, so I generally consider the '03 series and the last movie exceptions. By the way StoutFiles, did you get the baby Wicket idea from...? Any news on the Republic Frigate? Well, of course. The Prequels had so many retcons (Geonosians involved with the Death Star, what? Republic's only been around for a thousand YEARS?) and ruined so many characters (Early Adventures of C-3PO and R2-D2 and Jaster Mereel completely disregarded, for example) that fans of the original lineup and the Expanded Universe up to that point were just really incredulous about the whole thing and decided to ignore it completely. Which makes sense. Out of curiosity, have you ever watched the '03 Clone Wars series? Oh, I just noticed; Savage Oppress = Asajj Ventress. Same number of syllables in their respective first and last names too. How creative. Still waiting for a nice picture of that Consular... Quote
brickbuilder Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 The 03 clone wars were awesome! I have one of the seasons on DVD . I wonder, could TLG have made sets from there? I don't remember, are there any other vehicles from there? I do remember all the different colored Eta 2's! Quote

Which makes sense. Out of curiosity, have you ever watched the '03 Clone Wars series? Oh yes, I watched the 03 series with great enthusiasm last time. It was the best thing for Clone Wars at that time, but I was a bit perturbed by the uber skills the Jedi displayed, nevertheless I really enjoyed it back then. Quote

But it's hard to ignore the Clone Wars, so I generally consider the '03 series and the last movie exceptions. The EU is mostly ridiculous, don't get me started on the fact that Palpatine is a major part of it when he should be dead. Chewbacca being crushed by a planet was just to sell comics, they actually wanted to kill Luke but Lucas said no. I really just acknowledge the OT and nothing else. I assume this makes me a cranky old man that hates change but after seeing little Anakin trying a flip because it was a neat trick, and then soon after ending the war merely by accident, well I had had enough. And that was before the horror of the Episode II romance scenes. By the way StoutFiles, did you get the baby Wicket idea from...? Haha, yes. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I suppose I'm to blame for starting this, so I'll end the off-topic discussion. Has the Dathomir Speeder been confirmed? If not, we're not supposed to discuss it, but I don't remember. So... Back where we left off with the MF: I hope they give us either a completely new cockpit or a brick-built one. I'd prefer the latter since it'd be easier to mod. I'm also hoping for some nice corridors with the off-white padding; that's one of the things that always impresses me in mods. Quote
Lord Embo Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Has the Dathomir Speeder been confirmed? If not, we're not supposed to discuss it, but I don't remember. Yes. Check on Brickipedia on this page. It tells you all 2011 sets that are known as true at the moment. Lord Embo Quote

Lord Embo Then I guess we can discuss that too. I really want but doubt the rancor. Does anyone know anything more about that episode? Since I have no clue what's going on in Season 3. Quote
KimT Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 Yes. Check on Brickipedia on this page. It tells you all 2011 sets that are known as true at the moment. Lord Embo Sorry, but Brickipedia gets it's confirmation from the same place as us on the Summer sets. The kiddiwinkz page and the rest of the sets have confirmation notes linking to EB. That's not really any more confirmed than what we've got here, is it? It's a good list with great links though - great job Brickipedia Quote
Oky Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 (edited) Since when is Brickipedia a reliable source? All these rumours are rather sketchy in my opinion. By the way, two more alarm clocks have been found: CW Yoda & Anakin. edit:sniiiip check the 2010 topic for the picture. Edited November 29, 2010 by KimT Quote

starwarsfanatic Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 What really perplexes me is the hate for Ahsoka, seems like she is hated more than Jar Jar here. And I don't see why Jar-Jar is hated. He is by far the best character of the prequels, and up there with the best in the sequels. I only wish George Lucas had written him into Episode 4-6 somehow. That would be awesome! But I don't like the Jar-Jar minifig in the Battle of Naboo set. It's too detailed for me! Quote

But I don't like the Jar-Jar minifig in the Battle of Naboo set. It's too detailed for me! I have to disagree with all of your points, there. Jar Jar wasn't that horrible, but it was another stupid clown character. And why is the minifig too detailed? I don't know why so many of you guys are complaining about the details. The old ones lacked detail, now they finally add something great, and you're still complaining? Detailed figures are so much better than those detail-lacking things from a decade ago. No eyes? No accuracy? Bleh. The molds were great, but they needed printing to finish it all. People have different views on things, but my opinion remains: old, non-printed figures can't beat the detailed, printed figures we get nowadays. Anyways, I'm looking forward to pictures of the Ewok Attack and the Millennium Falcon sets. I hope there will be one ewok we have already had, and two ewoks with entirely new printings, and newly-colored hoods. I don't think we would be getting 3 all-new ewoks, so 2 should do...I hope. ~ General Magma Edited November 29, 2010 by General Magma Quote

Also, what sort of figures would be in that Dathomir Speeder? I want to know. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Please be kidding. Definitely agreed. Jar-Jar is second only to Ahsoka as character SW could do without. But he could be being sarcastic; sarcasm translates horribly into words. On-topic: I like the printed Jar-Jar head the same way I like the newer Ewoks. TheBrickHitHouse Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Even those of us with the old falcon must be looking forward to a new one Shocking that Lego have lost 6 years in making a new one - such a key set needs a rerelease every 2-3 years or just keep it in continuous production like the x wing I want a ROTJ gold 5 version - looks like the new one would be 1100 bricks if the price being tossed about is correct. C'mon Lego - give us a 2,000 brick masterpiece, I'd hate to think we'd get a 'budget' version like this years AT AT. We live in such a strange world - Lego charge £100 for weird clone wars sets no one's heard of but the one set people would happily pay a fortune for will get the cash in release... Quote
