kermit Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 any thoughts or pics on the new millenium falcon that comings out Quote
brickbuilder Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 any thoughts or pics on the new millenium falcon that comings out No pics of the summer wave yet, but according to Imperium der Steine (website), we should be seeing them before the end of the year. For the Millenium Falcon, I hope to get something different than 4504. Perhaps a 4-wide cockpit, which would be more accurate than the giant 6-wide one on 4504, and would seat only Han. I guess Chewie could just go play on his hologame. Another thing I'm hoping for is for the set to take more aspects of the construction of 10179, and to have more detail. (Right now, I'm building my 8098 Turbo Tank, and I'm surprised by the amount of detail on a system set). Quote
brickbuilder Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 The minifigs look awesome! Welcome to Eurobricks! Which minifigs do you mean, all of them in general, or a particular set? The new Clone Troopers and Gungans stand out to me. Quote
Fallenangel Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Not to be offensive or anything, but as soon as I saw "The Lego Man!" next to the thread title I thought 'another new member with a one-sentence 'this is cool' post to offer...' O...kay. No idea what's going on in that link. On-topic: That's why i don't buy much CW stuff. Last year, and OT set (8099) was the only member of the Summer wave to cross the 10:1 parts to price ratio. And thus far it's served me well both as a parts pack and a display model. It's Sailor Moon... Oh, okay. I'll go ahead and deeplink it. [snip] They really outdid themselves with the printing on that Embo thing... but then again, this is why these sets are so outrageously priced. any thoughts or pics on the new millenium falcon that comings out As far as I know, no pictures, but from the rumoured $150~$250 price tag, I'm expecting BETTER PROPORTIONS as opposed to incredibly detailed minifigures. A Docking Bay 327-themed Falcon wouldn't be too bad (since they haven't done that yet...) - neither would a Platform 327 Falcon (since they haven't done that either). An Endor Falcon would have less minifigures and therefore more detail... hmm... Oh, and it's spelled 'Millennium', with two 'n's. (Just a pet peeve of mine, ever since seeing Brian Tobin's fantastic rendition - or at least fantastic for its time). Quote
Cad Bane Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Just looked over the minifigures from the upcoming wave and I was surprised at the amount of leg printing, back printing, new molds etc. Lego really has outdone themselves with the sheer number of new things especially in star wars. Why this sudden wave of accuracy? Does it have something to do with the new minifigure series? If so, I'm glad Lego has an excuse to make exceptional figures. Also, the new sneak preview of Jack Sparrow looked pretty cool! On another note, does anyone know why TRU seems to have accurate prices? They usually mark things up like crazy. Right now though, they seem to have the prices that most people expected. Quote

Cad Bane Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 That's weird, I usually buy from Lego anyway. Hopefully they'll have them up soon or I may just have to buy from TRU. I wonder, if these are supposed to be January wave sets, why does TRU have them so early? Quote

I wonder, if these are supposed to be January wave sets, why does TRU have them so early? Same thing happened for PQ, so I am wondering if it hits online first then we have to wait a bit to see it in stores. All I know is that I want this line pretty badly and can't wait for them to come out. The pics of the ARF trooper have been lights out. Quote
Ritz Brick Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Has there been any picture of Embo's face? He's the only reason I might buy that silly gunship Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Awesome pictures, thanks so much! Is that a new pilot droid? Always thought their entire bodies were just blue. No, they should be tan with blue printing. TLG did that first, then moved to solid blue, and these new ones are blue with tan printing. It's Sailor Moon... As far as I know, no pictures, but from the rumoured $150~$250 price tag, I'm expecting BETTER PROPORTIONS as opposed to incredibly detailed minifigures. But then again said cousin has no idea what Star Wars is about so that makes us even. Agreed. I'm hoping for the Ep. 6 Falcon with printed new Sullustan head mold. Quote

Ritz Brick Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Those are looking great, even though I have no idea who Sugi is. and is it just me or do in all those pics, the V-Wing astromech look chrome silver rather than dark grey? Quote
Mr Man Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Well the figs printing does look nice but they are still pointless characters. I mean they are nice enough but pointless, they are not even main characters (except Aura) why do they deserve all this lovely printing and my poor army's don't. Rant over . Thanks for the better pics Masked Builder . Quote

TheBrickDaddy Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) fallenangel327 on 12 December- 10:25 AM said: It's Sailor Moon... Haha, because a lot of people could recognize that right away. I almost didn't! While the minifig printing for these sets is fantastic, the sets themselves barely make up for it. That seems to be the trend nowadays, am I right? Edited December 13, 2010 by TheBrickDaddy Quote

Walter Kovacs Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I'm not a big minifig collector, so I still don't have much interest in the T-6 shuttle, but Saesee Tiin does look good and Shaak Ti looks fantastic. I'm disappointed in the mando head print. I guess it does look like Pre Visla, but I'd rather have a more generic head under the helmet, as none of the figs have Pre Visla's helmet/armor printing. The bounty hunters look good, but I don't get why everyone is so eager to have them. Aurra Sing is the only one I've seen in the CW series. I distinctly do not like the Halo setitself at all. Nope we haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully we will get the Executer or maybe a UCS Tie An UCS TIE would be so wonderful. *sigh* Quote
Masked Builder Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) Mando Head print picture: It's really creeping me out. I do like the bounty hunters though. Edited December 13, 2010 by Masked Builder Quote

Darth Jar Jar Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Clone mandos..... Embo looks to be a nice mini like the back head printing Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) Here you go: This page displays a selection of miifigures, such as Luke Skywalker, R2-Q2, or Luminara Unduli. Discover who they all are and follow their adventures. I wonder if that's a hint or just an out-of-place example. EDIT: I notice the inclusion of the Battle of Geonosis- I guess that's a January release, too, and only Mace's JSF is February-March. That would match 2010, which only had one Spring set.
