KimT Posted December 20, 2010 Author Posted December 20, 2010 When are any of these sets out in the UK? Why oh why didn't you read my post? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Maybe, but I can remember that he provided information in the past that turned out to be true, and these rumors have to do with the confirmed sets for wave 2: unlike the J-guy, who brought up a list of entirely new sets all of a sudden - while the wave 2 sets had alerady been confirmed. In Regards to BrickDoctors statement: I agree fully as we need images to be completely sure but at least it gives us something new to talk about Ki Adi Mundi= Win Darth Maul Re-Designed= and Luke (Possible New Hairpiece)= Until we get The Summer Pictures anything is possible from any Source (Apart from MasterWindu's Wishlist and The Ambitious Republic Frigate Figures and The Malevolence) to be true (Most of it) and Sorry to get back to discussing something about the J -Word. I suppose. Anyways, I just hope Ki-adi doesn't have a molded head. I really doubt it'll be rubber either way, given that he shouldn't have any sharp surfaces unless they give him spiky hair. He should just have a big rounded head like Ackbar or a taller standard head (the one I want), in both cases it should be standard plastic. Quote

I think it might be like the series 4 Frankenstein, similar shaped faces and all.. Quote
brickbuilder Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Yep, this is definitely the kind of thing i'm hoping for: Quote

Brickdoctor Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Never seen that in my life! Yea I hope it's that now I think that's one of Christo's customs. (off eBay) Quote
General Magma Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I Can definately confirm Some of the sets, although pictures are yet to come. I know without a doubt the following sets are coming out next year: Geonosian Starfighter Anakin's and Subulba's Podracers Endor Sith Infiltrator Do you know something ( ) or was that just what you thought? Well, we can say that the Dathomir speeder and the Falcon, including the rest (except for that Geonosis battlepack) have been confirmed, too. They were found in an online store a while back. (No pics, else they would have been here already long ago.) Although it would be nice to have a Ki-Adi-Mundi like the one from Christo's customs, I place my bets on a completely new kind of a head. More like a pointy head than a stud on top, I'm afraid. But nonetheless, I want a Ki-Adi-Mundi figure anyways. ~ General Magma Quote
legolandia Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Yep, this is definitely the kind of thing i'm hoping for: Same here. Never seen that in my life! Yea I hope it's that now Not to be a killjoy but based on the minifigures released in the past couple of years from Lego the latter seem to have abandoned that "simple" style of minifigures. Nowadays the new minifigs come with quite expressive faces. Particularly since they are based on the CW episodes. I personally doubt we will get an old style minifigure anymore, at least not until the CW Season 5 has finished. Then again I am quite happy with CW style minifigs so no objections from me. Quote
AoNZ Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 Yeah I'm hoping that they do just one molded piece for the head and not an add on hat like Aayla and Shaak Ti and Sassee Tijn (spelling?) It would make more sense as he just has one tall head not any additions or anything. Quote
brickbuilder Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I personally doubt we will get an old style minifigure anymore, at least not until the CW Season 5 has finished. The Clone Wars isn't going to end at season 5. Quote
Ritz Brick Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I dont really like the idea of having Maul with protruding horns. First of all. They are fairly small so it would be hard to fit 7 tiny horns onto a minifig head. Second of all, he couldn't really wear a hood and IMO he's more intimidating with a hood. Lets just hope his head is molded in red instead of black Quote
Blackknight112 Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 The Clone Wars isn't going to end at season 5. He will proberbly only have new head and torso printing, and no new mold Quote
Ritz Brick Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 He will proberbly only have new head and torso printing, and no new mold Agreed. They left Sugi with printed horns so they will probably just make Darth the same. Quote
Walter Kovacs Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I personally doubt we will get an old style minifigure anymore, at least not until the CW Season 5 has finished. Baris Offee wasn't a CW style, either. That was an Ep III set, not TCW. And any OT sets will have "standard" minifigs. Quote

Actually, considering the fact that they continue to represent some near-human species with the standard minifigure heads (I'm thinking of Asajj Ventress, Sugi, and Cad Bane) I wouldn't be surprised to see a Ki-Adi Mundi minifigure with a standard head. I've always thought that Ki-Adi Mundi was one of the more normal-looking non-human Jedi. However, he does have that little braid at the top, so... I think somebody pointed out a few years back that one of the hat pieces from some Indiana Jones set (the boat chase in Venice, if I remember correctly) could also represent the lump on his head quite nicely, The_Box Lando wore Han's clothes in Empire. However, he does get promoted to a general in Jedi, so a Jedi-themed Falcon could be an opportunity for a new torso print. And his "gibberish-speaking monkey co-pilot" is Nien Nunb, who is Sullustan... You are correct in saying that with Ki-Adi Mundi all the Jedi from the first LEGO Star Wars game would exist in minifigure form. Season 5?! Quote
BrickArtist Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) With all due respect, another guy comes along and says something akin to what J-word claimed, and you all treat it as fact? We need more proof to back this up, like a report from a trusted website or (even better) prelim pics. Until then, I'm not going to get my hopes up. baby, where did you see the sets? Did you see them or did someone you know see them? If so, did you see them in person or online (somehow)? How reliable would you consider your sources? We already know these sets exist, I grant you that, but we've already had to deal with one person who supposedly saw the sets and owned them and then wouldn't keep his promise to take pictures. Sorry, I'm just feeling suspicious of rumors like this after that. Believe me, those rumors sound great, even though I was hoping for a RotJ MF. I have to agree, I'm currently working on a mygeeto and I am in dire need of his Fig. Whats the most important is your sources source, if he doesn't come up with pics/confirmation. we shouldn't mention the figs of sets, until proof emerges. (Despite what I just said, I'm happy about a Ki-Adi ) Edited December 20, 2010 by brickartist Quote

No harm in hoping. The Clone Wars isn't going to end at season 5. You don't really know that. Simple math says that since there are supposed to be 100+ episodes, there must be a Season 5, but whether or not it will continue is unknown. It'll probably depend on the show's popularity and if Cartoon Network wants to continue broadcasting it. But that's a discussion for another thread. I dont really like the idea of having Maul with protruding horns. First of all. They are fairly small so it would be hard to fit 7 tiny horns onto a minifig head. I would say very reliable since he give me the right information about the sets that is release January this year. When did he tell you this? If it was anytime between August/September and now, then that info probably wasn't too hard to find on the Internet from both this very site and the rest of the online LEGO community. Please understand that I don't doubt you, since you're apparently stuck in the middle-man position commanderneyo was a couple weeks ago, but after the results of that event I really want to be completely sure about these new developments. Also, the rumored sets for the Winter wave are much easier to find out about than those of the Summer wave, given that most anyone who knows someone else that owns an independent toy shop carrying LEGO can easily get a look at the product catalog. XimenaPaulina Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 It would be really nice to finally have a Ki-Adi fig, it really makes sense for him to be included in the Geonosis SF because of his appearance as a major character in the Geonosis story arc in the CW series. Besides, lesser jedi have been made before (Nahdar, Barriss), and with the introduction of more prominent jedi members this 2011 (Shaak, Saesee), it's just appropriate that they finally give some love to this respected Jedi High Council member. So I really hope this rumor will turn out to be true. Quote

Anyways, given that the rumor makes sense considering the info we've already heard and it certainly isn't outrageous, I'd be willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. I do hope we get Ki-adi, and a good one. Quote
KimT Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 Remember that we've got an updated list in the first post on which sets are in the January and Summer wave of 2011. June 2011 7956 Ewok Attack 7657 Dathomir Speeder 7959 Geonosian Starfighter 7961 Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator 7962 Anakin's and Sebulba's Podracers 7964 Republic Frigate 7965 Millennium Falcon No need to spread rumors of a Republic Frigate - when we already know it's there.
